Hailey's POV
I usually come to school earlier than everybody else. I didn't the attention being a new kid brought. I sat in math class, flipping through my notes while people started to arrive. I immediately noticed Devin as he staggered across the aisle. I couldn't take my eyes off him, but I was surprised Danny wasn’t tagging along like a tail.
"Hey," I greeted him when he sat down. "Where's Danny?"
"She's away today," he said. A wave of relief washed over me. It wasn’t like I didn't want her to come to school; it would mean Devin could spend more time with me.
