Chapter 29

1837 Words

Hailey's POV Dammit. Karissa was helping me with my science report. I should've completed it at school, so I could help Devin and Danny wash their car. It was already 6:30 pm, and I peeked out the window for the umpteenth time. I couldn’t stop myself; my eyes went back to them like magnets. "What’s so cool out the window?" Karissa said. I jolted and turned back around. "Um, I just saw Devin and Danny outside. Cleaning the car. Devin's car," I sputtered. Karissa looked out the window herself. We could see Devin and Danny at a slanted birds-eye view, and she smirked, enabling the camera on her phone. "Open the window. I want to listen," she said. I grinned – she was worse than me with holding her curiosity. "If they do some activity, this is the perfect chance for me to capture it."
