A Royal Mate

        Josephine suddenly wakes up to the sounds of voices talking. She quickly hides the book before changing into some clothes and getting ready for the day. 

        Josephine started to walk downstairs as soon as she was done freshening up. Luana greeted her at the bottom of the stairs with a saddened face. Josephine looked at her with concern, before whipping her head towards the living room. Elaine was sitting with Lobo and another man. 

"Um, what's going on?" Josephine asked curiously and walked towards them.

"Josie, this is General Goran, and he's here to take you to your mate." Elaine said with a faint smile.

"What!?" Josephine shouted in shock, "But this is too soon! And he's a royal!"

Lobo stands up, "JOSEPHINE! Mind your manners!" 

Josephine freezes as soon as he yells at her, "I'm sorry..."

"Lobo, it's quite alright. She is just confused at the moment." General Goran said to him.

Lobo sighs, "Alright"

General Goran turns to Josephine, "I am here, because your mate has ordered me to bring you to the palace today. He wants you by his side already." 

Josephine widens her eyes, "Wait, who are we talking about?" 

"King Pierce, a Royal Alpha of the Ethereal Pack." General Goran says with a soft smile.

Josephine eyes widen even more, "King?"

"Yes, and I must bring you at once. But go ahead and pack your things." General Goran replied before talking to Lobo again.

"Josie.." Elaine started to say.

        Josephine grit her teeth before running upstairs. Why? Why? I don't want to go! I was hoping that he wasn't a Royal! Now I find out he is!? I don't want anything to do with him! I hate Royals! They hate me too! Why!? Why me!?

        Luana came into the room and sat next to Josephine. Josephine was quietly packing. Luana started to help her before crying. Josephine frowned before hugging her.

"I really wish you didn't have to go." Luana said with sobs, "You are basically my sister, and now you'll be far from home."

Josephine tried to choke back her tears, "I know. But I promise I will come visit you all, okay?"

Luana nods her head sadly, "If you ever need my help, or they do bad things to you. Please howl for me and I will come."

Josephine smiles, "I know you will. It's only 4 miles away, so we'll get some exercise too."

        Luana starts to laugh a little before wiping her tears away. Josephine pats her softly, and then continues to pack up all her things.

        Josephine comes down with her luggage, and sets it down. Elaine and Lobo give her the biggest hug. Josephine sighs softly, then grabs her stuff before following General Goran out to the car. She waves them a goodbye, then enters the huge black limo. 

        It's not that I'm judging him and his family and pack. I've always just thought of Royals as evil. Royals killed my parents, which is why I was taken in by my Aunt and Uncle. I'm just surprised that Uncle Bo knows a Royal, and they're friends.

"My Queen, what would you like to eat?" General Goran asked me with a soft smile.

Josephine faintly smiles, "I'm quite alright, but thank you for asking. Also, I think calling me Josephine or Jo is fine."

General Goran looks at Josephine, "Well, if you suggest that, then I will kindly accept."

"So, I have to call you General Goran?" Josephine asked curiously.

General Goran chuckles, "Yes, the King expects you to call everyone by title."

"Oh.. okay." Josephine says, "Is it okay for you to tell me a little bit about the Ethereal Pack?"

"Well, yes it is appropriate for you to know more about them. Considering the fact that you will be part of the pack soon." General Goran replies with a smile.

"Alright." Josephine replied before paying attention to him.

"So, King De Luca and Queen Lorelei were rulers. But they passed away due to old age. King De Luca and the Rogues got into a war. They had 3 children, Elliot, Pierce, and Cassandra." General Goran began to say, "Elliot was slain in the war, which is why Pierce took the title of King. Cassandra is Princess of course. She is very excited to meet you, and she did tell me to tell you that she hopes you can be friends."

Josephine smiles, "I know in my heart not all Royals are bad, though I do dislike Royals."

"Oh, don't apologize my qu- Josephine." General Goran said, "The war is what caused everyone to become enemy instead of an alliance, but look at me and Lobo. We are good friends still."

"I see that." Josephine says, "Why did the war start?"

General Goran paused, "To be honest, I am not sure."

Josephine thinks to herself, "Well, I hope that Pierce doesn't let that come between us." 

General Goran looks at her with pity, "Josephine, my King is very cold hearted towards many Rogues and most people. But I swear he does mean well."

"But why? What hurts him do deeply, that he has hate for Rogues?" Josephine asked.

"Elliot and Pierce were very close. They promised each other that Elliot would be King and marry a beautiful Alpha." General Goran replied, "After his death, Pierce was angered at the Rogues and he slayed most of them and made sure they were wiped out. Pierce was even more mad to become King, but he did not have a choice."

Josephine felt her heart sink, "I see."

        The limo finally pulls up to the palace, which sends Josephine's stomach feeling butterflies. General Goran opens the door for Josephine as soon as they park in front of the palace. Josephine steps out of the limo and looks up at the tall and intimidating palace. 

"I will have the maids come to get your things and send them to your room." General Goran said as he took out the luggage.

"Wait, Pierce and I do not share a room?" Josephine asked curiously.

"I'm sorry Josephine, but my King said for you to have your own room away from his." General Goran replied, "But your room is very big with your own bathroom and walk in closet, of course." 

Josephine softly smiles, "That's fine with me."

        Two maids came towards the car to grab Josephine's luggage. Josephine and General Goran entered the palace together. Josephine was taken back by the beauty of the palace. The walls were white marbled with gold trimmings. There was so much to see. 

        As Josephine walks towards the huge stairs, a sudden chill runs up her spine. Footsteps walked toward them from the left where the kitchen and dining room stood.

General Goran bows, "My King."

Pierce stares at Josephine intensely, "Welcome, home."
