‘It’s time to make a decision’ Marie spoke softly to Alicia, ‘but there are the risks that we talked about before,’ her eyes held a warning that Alicia was unable to decipher. She had been thinking about it constantly since the doctor had suggested it, but her mind was made up. Well, mostly. ‘If I don’t take this heart,’ she wheezed out, feeling weaker by the minute, ‘then I’ll probably die, and fairly soon by my guess,’ She looked at the nurse who hesitated before nodding sightly. ‘And if I do take the heart, then I still might die?’ She asked because she wasn’t sure. ‘It’s a little more complicated than that, which I can explain now, but I suppose in simple terms you are correct,’ the nurse responded. ‘If you were in my shoes, or should I say, in my medical gown, what would yo
