I told Lorisa about growing up at the District 3 mansion, about my parents, and about their death. She had many questions about the accident, but I didn’t know most of the details. It was all handled by Sebastian’s cousin, and she wasn’t one to speak to a lowly human like me if she didn’t have to.
Lorisa had many questions in general, and I was very forthcoming. More so than I had ever been before. Something about her made me feel so at ease. When I was done telling her everything, I had to ask, “Is this your gift Kerren was telling me about?”
“What do you mean, dear?”
“The calm I feel around you,” I admitted. “I’ve never opened up that much to anyone. It was like all that pain from losing them was ripped open again, but now I feel at peace about it. I feel... relieved.”
