The Lumen Princess

Chapter 7

“I don’t want to go with you. I don’t want to leave this world. This is where I grew up,” I told them.

We were inside their private room in school which I didn’t know actually exist. What a special treatment. They’re all here except Shone because he never go to school anyway.

“But Shana, it will be very dangerous not just for you but also for the mortals here. We also need you. The world where you belong needs you,” Kyle said. I glare at him.

Just when will he stop calling me ‘Shana’? I hate him.

“Gallens, you know it is not easy for me to leave. This is the world I grew up with. Where I thought I belong! Also, I can’t just turn my back and leave all the people who I love here!” I said then look at Jil.

Yes. She’s with me. They were all furious when they found out I told Jil everything but there’s nothing more they can do.

“We knew it wouldn’t be easy for you. But you need to get through with it. It’s also for your own safety,” Jiro said.

I turned to him and raised an eyebrow.

“Is it really for my safety or ist it for you? Your world? Isn’t that the main reason why you started lookinh for me? Because you wanted to use me to saved your world from the dark wizards you’ve been talking about!”

I stood up and pull Jil with me but Kyle stopped me.

“Really? Is that how you think? If its just for our world, we have Shone for that! He is still the Lumen Prince and your twin brother. He could also save us because he is as powerful as you!”

“Kyle,” Elysse tried to stop him but he still continued.

“But it is not like that, Shana. The very first reason why we’re looking for you is because you are the Lumen Princess. Shone’s twin and the only family left for him. We need to protect you. We had to. And it will be very dangerous for you if you will still insist on staying here. It’s already your 20th birthday tomorrow and I’m sure, lots of dark wizards and dark spirits will come here just to kill you and those who will get in their way.”

“You said it before, I can defeat them so I will just have to fight them and beat them. I can do that!” I said but still unsure. I don’t even know what I’m about to face.

I move a step back when Elysse took a step towards me.

“Do you know how to use your powers? Do you even know what kind of powers do you have? You can’t even use it right? You’ve never use it before,” Elysse told me coldly. “Stop being cocky. You don’t know what you’re about to fave tomorrow.”

She’s right. I never use my powers. I actually never seen it. But still, I don’t want to leave. No.

“I don’t care. I can take care of myself and my decision is final. I don’t want to come with you and it will stay like that.”

I removed the necklace that they gave me and throw it towards Kyle which he actually caught.

“I don’t need your protection,” I said.

“You don’t know what you’re saying,” Elysse said but I ignore her and just left with Jil.

“Are you really sure about this, Shan?” Jillian asked while we are on the way to our building. We still have classes so Kyle will surely come after us and I don’t want to talk to any of them right now.

“Yes. I don’t want to leave this world. This is where I grew up and this is where I will die. Just why the do I have to know Kyle and those people?” I asked frustratedly.

“And what’s your problem with Kyle?”

I turned around to look where that voice came from only to see a girl walking towads us.

“Shan,” Jillian called so I look at her. “Kyle and the others has a fan club here, you know. And that girl is the president of that fan club. Her name is Hazelle.”

“I already asked about this before but they’re not some celebrities or something right? Really? A fan club?”

“And what the hell are you whispering to each other? Answer the damn question,” she said which made me raised an eyebrow.

“None of your business,” I said and walk away from her but she suddenly grab my arm and made me look at her.

“I think you don’t know who you’re talking to, lady.”

“Yes. I don’t know you but I also don’t care who you are. We don’t know each other so what right do you have to stick your nose to our conversation?”

I removed her hand from me and walk away. Jil followed me but we stopped when that girl talked again.

“Shana Angelica Levin, currently an orphan again because her foster parents died. How poor of you. And your foster parents died because of suicide right? Funny. Maybe they can’t handle a good for nothing b***h like you anymore and had no other option but to take their own life.”

My hands formed into fist. The wound on my palm haven’t healed yet and started bleeding again when my nails buried into my palm.

“S-shan…” Jil stuttered when she called me.

Suddenly it started raining so hard followed by a thunder.

Hazelle scream squeal when another thunder roar and made her stumble on the floor. I took that chance and walk towards her.

The rain falls heavily. I grab her and force her to stand up. I was about to punch her when someone stopped me by grabbing my hand.

“K-kyle,” Hazelle called him like she is seeing an angel when she saw that Kyle stop my fist that is about to kiss her face.

I don’t know how but as soon as Kyle stop my fist, he took a few steps back because of so much force I release.

“Leave,” Kyle told the girl coldly so she left even if she’s hesitating

“Breath Shana. Calm down,” Kyle told me while looking directly in my eyes. He let go of my hand and hold my shoulder to squeeze it.

And I don’t know how she did that but I suddenly felt weak and the so much anger I felt earlier suddenly vanish.

“I guess I was right. It is you who did that,” he said and look at the sky. The rain suddenly stop and the sun came out again.

“The rain,” I said, confused of what just happened.

“Shan,” Jil called so I look at her. “I’ve never seen you that angry. The look you gave her really got me scared also,” she said while trembling so I walk towards her and hug her.

“Sorry Jil,” I said.

“Gallens,” I turned to Kyle again. He is already walking towards our room so I walk beside him. “What is that? Did I really did that?” I asked him and he just nod.

“But how? I mean, nothing like that happens whenever I get angry before. But now-”

“I guess your power had already awaken when you wore the lumen necklace,” he said. “See? You can’t even contril your power. What if I didn’t come right on time? That girl will surely fly like a flying saucer because of your punch. Look.”

He showed me the hand he used to stop my punch a while ago. It’s now bleeding so much because of the damage.

“If I’m just a mortal like that girl, I probably lose my hand,” he said and left us there.

Tapos nauna na siyang maglakad sa amin.

“Shan,” Jil called.

“My decision is still the same, Jil,” I said and continue walking.

“Are you going there?” Jillian asked instead.

“Yes,” I answered. Since tomorrow is the party for our birthday, I decided to go to my foster parents’ graveyard today right after our classes.

“Do you want me to come with you again?”

“No. I’ll be fine. I can do this alone now,” I said and smiled at her.

“Papa, Mama, it will be my birthday tomorrow. I can’t come here tomorrow because Jil’s parents organize a party for us and I can’t even say no to them seeing how happy they are.

Pa, does it have to be like this? Before, despite being happy with our family, I stillwant to know who I really am but now that the truth about my identity came out, I don’t know. I just want to runaway from it. I want to runaway from my destiny.

I decided to stay here but something is telling me that I need to leave this world. Is it because I really don’t belong here? But I want to stay.”

I sat down in front of their grave.

“Please tell me what to do Papa, Mama. Is it alright? Is it right to stay here and live a normal life? Please give me some sign,” I asked them.

A tear escape from my eyes but I immediately wipe it. I stayed there for a while talking about things that’s currently happening.

“I met my twin brother. Well that’s what he said,” I said and lay down. “You know what’s weird? Even if I want to not believe him when he first told me that, deep inside me, when I first saw him, I knew we have this connection between us already.”

I also told them about Kyle and the others. My eyes are close when I felt my surrounding getting colder. When I open my eyes, it is so dark it seems like it’s already night time.

I stood up and look around me and there I saw it again. That dark creature that attack me and Jillian. A dementor who is approaching me very fast.

“No!” I squeal.

Then I scream when it reach me. I put my hands in front of me as if it would stop it from coming. But what shook me is when something shine so bright. A bright light that is coming from my hands and its blinding.

When that light went off, the dementor is nowhere to be found.

I sigh and just let myself fall into my knees. I sat there and look at my parent’s grave again.

“Is this the sign you’re giving me?” I asked and then I felt a soft wind embrace me.

I left that place immediately after saying goodbye.
