The Lumen Princess

Chapter 8

After what happened yesterday I just went straight to the apartment to get my things and went to home with Jil.

I didn’t mention to her what happened that day because after giving me that sign, it did come to me that, maybe I should really go and I can’t tell that to Jil yet.

Today, we are inside of Jil’s room in their house, getting are hair and make up done. At exactly 8pm, the party will start and it’s almost 7:30 now.

“They said they will come,” Jillian said.

I just nod at her. She’s talking about Kyle and the others.

Well even if I don’t want to, this is also Jillian’s birthday and it was her parents who organize it.

“Ladies ang gentlemen please welcome my beautiful and stunning daughter Jillian and her bestfriend who is like our second daughter to us, Shanel,” Jil’s mother announce.

I could hear the crowd’s loud claps and laughters as Jil and I walk hand in hand towards their big garden.

The party was held here in their home at the back where a big garden is found.

They were singing a happy birthday to us and after that the party started.

There a big swimming pool in the middle which they covered in a clear glass to make it a dance floor. Some of the guests already started eating at their table.

I look around and found Kyle’s friends. They’re not together tho and they are looking around like some kind of bodyguards. Kyle is not here also but Shone is.

I sigh and just lookaway. I turned towards Jil who is currently talking to her cousins.

“Jil, I’ll just go to the comfort room,” I told her and she just nod her head and smiled

“Shan! Happy b-day!”

I turned to see who greeted me and found Jared who hugged me immediately. He’s actually my friend from highschool.

“Ja-jared I-i can’t breathe.”

“Oh! Sorry. I just miss you so much,” he said and break from the hug.

“You really never change! Wait. I really need to go to the comfort room. You can talk to Jil first,” I said and pointed at Jil before leaving him.

Well they knew each other and Jared has a huge crush towards Jil.

I fixed my hair and look at my make up. The make up artist did a great job and just put some light make up from my face.

When I was satisfied, I just went out when someone suddenly grab my hand and pinned me on the wall.

“Shana,” he called me and I look up to see that it was Kyle. “This would be the last time I’ll ask you to come with us, please?”

I don’t know what to say. My mouth parted when I saw his pleading eyes.

I heard Jared and Jil calling my name and I was about to go when Kyle suddenly hug me from behind making my heart skip a beat.

“W-what are you doing?!”

I tried to get away from him but it’s no use. I can even feel how fast his heart is beating right now because of how tight his embrace is.

“Come with us, please. I don’t want something bad to happen to you here,” he pleaded again.

I was about to say something when we suddenly heard a horrifying scream.

Kyle’s embrace losen and I took that chance to get away from him but he grab my hand and drag me somewhere. He made me hide under one of the tables and made me look at him.

“Listen to me, Shana. Stay here and don’t ever come out. Whatever happens,” he said.

My eyes widen when he suddenly kiss my temple. I want to scold him but he immediately run from me. I even heard him casting some spells.

It’s happening. The thing we’ve been trying so hard to avoid. The dark spirits and dark wizards are already here attacking and looking for the lumen princess to kill her.

I saw Shana’s friend Jillian and immediately run towards her.

“K-kyle,” she called when I reach her. “What’s happening?” she asked while trembling.

“These dark spirits and dark wizards are here for Shana. This is what we’ve been trying to avoid that’s why we are convincing her to come with us. The door to the Mortal World is already open and they can now freely come here.”

The door from the mortal world can only be open by a lumen wizard but the prophecy has it that at the 20th birthday of the lumen princess, the door will open and any creature can come in and out freely.

“Look for the princesses!” one of the dark wizard scream.

I frown and stop attacking.

Princesses?

Why princesses? There’s only one lumen princess, right?

Did I hear it wrong?

I found Shone with Elysse near a fountain where Shone is using the water from the fountain to turn all his enemies into ice and Elysse will cast a spell to break them.

“Damn it!” I hissed when I saw Shana come out.

That hard-headed girl surely gives me a headache. Good thing Jana and Jiro saw her and immediately come to her.

“POTENS VITAE!”

Elysse casted a very powerful spell that made the surrounding shine bright that it’s almost blinding. All the dark spirits vanish and only the dark wozards and the two Hebridean Black Dragon are left.

They’ve been flying around which I think they’ve been looking for Shana.

“Stay here,” I told Jillian and come out.

“Zairen!” I called out the gnome. “Magic broom!”

From his mouth, he took out my magic broom.

“Protect her,” I told Zairen and referring to Jillian.

Zairen can cast a very powerful shields that no dark wizards can come near them.

“Yes. Please be careful, master!” he said

I rode my broom and come to one of the Hebridean Black Dragon. These dragons had been destroying things and hurting mortals. I need to take down at least one of them.

Jiro and Jana were in front of me and fight all the dark wizards that come to us while they are protecting me.

I also saw Clyde who is also currently fighting with Nikki

Everyone is fighting and it frustrates me that I can’t do anything and I was just there being protected from the powerful enemies.

“Shana.”

Someone called me. At first I thought it was Kyle because he is the only person who calls me by my first name but Kyle is nowhere to be found.

“Shana,” he called again but this time, I recognized his voice.

“Papa?”

“Yes, baby,” he said and suddenly everything around me vanish. My Papa is right in front of me.

“Come with me,” he said and offered me his hand. I felt like his eyes are trying to pull me so I come with him.

I followed Papa but stop when I heard another voice calling me.

“SHANEL!”

“Shana?” Papa called me. I smiled and was about to walk with him again when I heard that voice again.

“SHANEL WAKE UP!”

It was Shone’s voice and just like that, I was back to that place again where Shone and the others are fighting the dark wizards.

A dark wizard is already in front of me and I was already far from Jiro and Jana.

“Stop! Don’t go out or something bad might happen to you.”

I look around and saw Jillian with some kind of dwark and they are inside this something that might be a spell to protect

The dwarf wasn’t able to stop Jillian from running towards me.

Even Nikki heard that dwarfs voice.

“You’re not my father,” I said to the dark wizard who took a form to look like my father.

“It is me, baby. I’m your Papa, Shana,” he said.

“No,” I firmly said. “My father is already dead!”

“Shanel!” Nikki and Jillian called me when they come to me.

“Ostendesemetipso.”

It was Nikki who casted which I think a spell to show us the true face of the dark wizard.

I hold on Jillian’s arms and took a step back. But suddenly a dark wizard grab my other hand and tried to pull me but I hold on Jillian tighter.

“Get away from her! You freak!” Jillian yelled at him as she tried to pull me to her.

Then suddenly, that dark wizard whistle. But thay whistle sounded so strange.

My eyes widen when from the sky, a dragon showed up and grab Jillian with its feet causing her to let go of me.

“SHANEL!” Jillian called but its no use because the dark wizard already got a hold of my and fly in the sky with me.

“NO! JILLIAN!” I scream.

“Cauza morţii!”

My eyes widen when the dark wizards who is holding me suddenly turned into ashes. I squeal when I started falling from the sky but Shone caught me.

“No, Jillian. They got Jillian,” I told Shone but he just bow his head.

When I look around me, Nikki, Jiro, Jana, Elysse and Clyde were already around me. Forming a circle as they attack every dark wizards that come to us.

I was so near to defeat this dragon when I heard Shana’s scream of Jillians name making me lose focus.

The dragons attack made a big scratch on my leg but I immediately counter his attack and made sure to finish him.

I was already on my way back when I saw the others surrounding Shana and Shone while all the dark wizards are coming towards them.

But what caught my attention is Shana. She seems so lost. All the emotions on his face are gone and her hands form into fist.

“Shana,” I called her only to see his eyes full of rage. They are very different from the last time I saw her anger.

I went down and stood in front of her. Her eyes were already close

“Shana,” I called again that made her open her eyes.

I cover my own eyes when blinding light came from hers.

“s**t!” I hissed and tried my best to look at the others.

Shone stopped fighting and walked towards us.

“What happen?” He asked me but I can’t even answer him

Everyone stopped from attacking. Even the dark wizards stop coming to us.

A strong wind suddenly blew that it became hard from us to keep standing. And there comes the heavy rain and thunder.

I look at Shana again but she’s already up in the air. The dark wizards didn’t even have guts to attack her and they were just looking at her.

“What’s happening?!” Clyde asked almost screaming just for us to hear him.

“She loses control of her temper!” Elysse said. “This is bad!”

What ever comes her way, be it a thing or a dark, Shana will attack it using he thunder. She also wrapped them inside a bubble and freeze them to ice.

Good thing there were no longer mortals here. She didn’t missed any until only one dark wizard was left.

She got down on his feet and walk towards him. All the dark wizards can do is tremble in fear when she came near him. She grab her on his neck and he suddenly turned into ashes.

“Shana,” I called.

She looked at and if I’m not mistakes, I saw a tear from her eyes.

“AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!” she scream.

All things around her are flying around. The ground also cracked open and the rain became heavier.

“Master,” Zairen called with fear evidence on his voice.

“Is there anything we can do to stop her? Prince, maybe we can do something. If she won’t stop, everyting in this place will be ruined,” Nikki said.

Shone just shook his head.

“She can’t control her emotions so her emotions controlled her instead. Her power also comes from her emotions, making her unstoppable,” Shone explained.

Damn it!

“No! Kyle!” Jiro tried to stop me but it’s already too late. I was already running away. Running towards Shana.
