Chapter 9

Where am I?

Why is it so dark?

I can't even move my body.

I move my hands in hope that I could hold on to something but there's nothing!

"Shanel," someone called me.

"Who are you?" I asked even if I have no clue where that voice is coming from.

Suddenly, I saw a small light. I followed that light until it grows bigger and bigger that it's already blinding me.

I saw a silhouette of someone that looks like a girl until that blinding light vanish and I saw the face of that girl.

My eyes grew bigger when I realize who that woman is.

"I am you and you are me. We are just one, Shanel," the girl who looks exactly like me said. This is so insane! It seems like I'm looking myself in front of a mirror.

"H-ho-" I can't even form a word.

I took a deep breath to calm myself.

"Where am I?" I ask her,

"I a place that only you should know," she said smiling.

"SHANA WAKE UP!" I heard another voice shouting. It's a familiar voice so I look around to find but it seems like I'm in the middle of nowhere.

"Gallens?" I called him but I never heard his voice again.

"Don't mind them, my princess. Look," the girl who look like me said and showed a mirror that came out of nowhere. From that mirror, I saw what's currently happening in our world.

"Look at how powerful you are, Shanel. Isn't this what you want right now? To destroy everything and kill those who take away your friend who is more like a sister to you?"

I saw how Gallens, Shone and the others tried to stop me. I can even see myself trying to getaway from them.

“Gallens!” I shouted his name when I saw he was hit by thunder which is made by myself.

"Why Shanel? Why do you sound so worried? Isn't this what you want?"

I look at the girl who look exactly like me.

"No and not ever. I would never like to hurt anyone. They're my friends!"

"Your friends? You don't even know them? They are just someone who claim that they've been looking for you all those years. You just know them by name but you don't really know them."

I shook my head and cover my ears. Not wanting to hear another word from her.

"They are powerful, Shanel. How can you be so sure that they're telling the truth? What you're doing right now is just the with thing."

"No! Hurting anyone no matter how bad they are will never be the right thing. Much more hurting someone who did nothing but good to you."

"But that's what you're doing right now."

"No! That's not me!" I shouted at her. "This is not what I wanted."

Then, I saw her smile and disappeared in front of me.

My tears started to fall as I watch myself destroy everything around her.

Just what the hell should I do to go back?

I close my eyes and just let the darkness consume me.

The others followed me when I run towards her. I don't even have any plans but I just run to her and tried to stop her. We actually doesn't have any idea on how we can stop her from destroying everything her eyes can see.

Her anger totally consumed her that she  went out of control.

"Help me," I asked Elysse as we tried to get up when she hit us with a strong wind. "I need to get near her."

Elysse agreed and gave a sign to them so they can help me get near Shana.

We got a lot of wounds and if this doesn't stop, it will really become harder for all of us. Shana's power just awaken and her emotions totally consumed her that her power becomes out of control.

"NOW!" Nikki shouted when she saw an opening to get near her.

I quickly grab that chance and went to Shana. I hug her tighter when she tried to get away from me. I can even feel my arms burning from her touch when she tries to move them away from her.

Using my remaining strength and power, I put a binding spell on her to stop her from moving and immediately put the Lumen Necklace that I has been with me ever since she returned it.

“Ex munditia cordis eam vigilemus omnes, amens et lavit!!!”

The necklace suddenly light up and I can see Shana slowly losing her consciousness until I was already holding her in my arms.

“Shana?” I called her when we reach the ground. I tried to wake her up again and thankfully she slowly open her eyes.

“G-gallens?”

She look around her, trying to figure out what just happen.

"You've lost control. Your anger consumed you totally," I told her.

She sat up and bow her head.

“I’m sorry,” she said and then look at us again with tears in her eyes.

“How about Jillian?”

I saw the love, fear and worry in her eyes when she asked that question while looking at us and waiting for our answer.

"A Black Dragon got her, Shan. I don't even want to say this but it's possible that she's now one of the dark wizard's prisoners."

She look at the prince with horror. She tried to get up but I immediately grab her when she fall back on her knees.

"You're still weak," I told her.

"We need to get her! We need to save her!" she said with panic on her voice so I hug her to calm her down.

“Shhhh. We will save her,” I assured her.

"This is all my fault. Because of me, Jillian is now in danger. It's all because of me!" she said and cried harder on my shoulder but Elysse grab her and made Shana face her.

"Listen, we will save her. YOU will save her and you will save our world," Elysse said.

“What do you mean?”

“We already told you before, you are the only one who can defeat the dark wizards .You are the only one who has the power to stop them," Clyde said.

“But-”

“What now, Princess? Are you still gonna make it hard for us to convince you? Are you just gonna wait here and let those bastards hurt other innocent wizards or humans just to get you? Your foster parents, didn't they died while protecting you from them?” Elysse said.

“What?” Shana asked, not having a clue on what Elysse just said.

“Yes, Shanel," said Elysse. "I was born in Magus World and I trained to control my power and a lot of spell at a very young age. The very first vision I saw then was about you. I saw how your will foster parents die from protecting you that's we immediately came here in the mortal world together with other lumen wizards to find you and in hopes that we can save them. But we're too late and we didn't even manage to find you,” Jana said.

I could how Shana is startled about the truth. Well, all she knew is her foster parents were murdered and she doesn't a clue that she was the reason of the incident.

From her shock face, I saw how it changes to anger but it was different from earlier because right now, I can see the determination and bravery in her eyes.

"We should head back to the mansion," Shone said.

I hold Shana's arm to help her but she just push me away and tried her best to walk on her own.

She's still weak.

“Zairen, you should clean this place and erase the memories of  the people who came to this party and saw what happened," I told my garden gnome.

"Yes, Master."

I stop when I saw Shana stopped walking and she is just standing there.

"You coming?" I asked when I got near her but she just glared at me and just started walking so fast.

I shook my head.

Does she really hate me? Why?

I still can't believe that those damn wizards are the one who killed by parents! I can never forgive them. Never! And if what these lumen wizards are saying is the truth, that I'm the only one who can defeat those damn dark wizards, then so be it!

We just arrive at their mansion. We are actually with a dwarf that Kyle has been calling as Zairen. I was actually afraid of him at first but after what happen today, I can't bring myself to be afraid of this little creature. Maybe I should also get use to it. Seeing these creatures that I can only read from books before should be a normal thing for me for now on.

"This is going to be your room, princess," the dwarf Zairen said.

I look around the room he told me. It's actually so big that I think it's as big as our apartment.

I lay down on my bed and close my eyes as I recall what happened. I actually already came up with a decision. I will come with them. I will go to that place they call Magus World. I need to save Jillian no matter what happens.

I keep turning and tossing on my bed because I really can't sleep.

I heard the door knob turn so I quickly close my eyes and pretended that I'm asleep. I felt someone sitting on the side of my bed.

“I’m glad that we found you, Shana.”

Gallens?

"I really don't know what to do if something bad happens to you," he said and I felt him. I felt him caressing my hair. Removing some lose strands away from my face.

"I really don't know what to do now that you're here with us," I heard him say before finally leaving the room.

I quickly sat up and tried to catch my breath. I didn't even know I was holding my breath this whole time.

"What was that?" I ask to my self and hold my chest where I felt how fast my heart is beating.

I got up and went straight to the bathroom and wash my face. I stared straight at my flush face.

I shook my head and wash my face again before getting back to the bedroom but I headed to the balcony instead.

I sigh.

"YOU will save her and you will save our world."

I remembered what Elysse said earlier and I can't help but think about it. Yes, I wanted to that more that anything now but I really don't know how. I don't even know how to use my power.

I look at the sky and thought, can I make it rain? But I just laugh at myself thinking that's really crazy.

"What are you doing?"

I turned and saw Shone walking towards me.

"Nothing. I just can't sleep," I said. He stood beside me and look at the sky also.

"Do you want to rain?" he asked. "We can actually do that."

My lips parted. He raise his right hand and turned it into a fist. I can't help but gasp when it really started raining and look at him again when the rain suddenly stop that I can even see its droplets midair.

"H-how?"

"Water is our main power," he said. " You can do this too but not right now. Not when your emotions are a mess."

"Jillian is the only family I have," I said.

"And you our also the only family I have," he said and I can see the loneliness in his eyes. "I'm glad that we finally found you."

I look down at my hands and felt him touching my shoulder.

"You should sleep. We leave at exactly 9am tomorrow," he said before leaving.
