The Lumen Princess

Chapter 11

It’s dark. All I could see is darkness when I look around me but from the sound of the wind and the noises coming from nowhere, I knew I was in a forest.

But how? How did I get in here?

“Hello Shanel,” I turned to look the one who called me

“Who are you?” I asked her. She’s wearing all black whith his black hair or a top knot ponytail. A cloth is covering half of her face so I can only see her eyes.

Those eyes...they look very familiar to me and I can fell this familiar feeling as I look at them.

“I’m your nightmare, Shanel,” she said before getting her two katanas from her back.

I stared at her katanas. Those two katanas, I will never forget those, they were the one who killed my mother and father.

I look at her and saw her smirking at me.

“Ooohhh, so you remembered. Yep. You’re right. Theses weapons were the one who killed your foster parents and the one who will kill you,” she said before attacking me which I avoided quickly but she just disappeared after.

“Shan,” another voice called me and when I look around, I saw Jillian holding same katanas that the lady in black is holding a while ago.

“Help me, Shanel,” Jillian cried but the she just started attacking me while asking for my help.

My left shoulder bleed when one of the katanas manage to get through my defense. I didn’t think twice and just attack Jillian. She lose her hold on the katanas and I just hug her after.

“Jillian,” I called her as tears stream down my face. She hugs me back but I was frozen when I suddenly felt a sharp pain on the side of my stomach.

I was the one who broke the hug and look down on my body where its hurting. There I the left side of my stomach bleeding from the stab of a dagger.

I look at Jillian but she’s already gone and the lady in black is standing right in front of me.

She smirked at me then her appearance suddenly change.

“J-jillian?” I called her, not believing what I’m actually seeing right now. My knees were also about to give up and my eyes are beeing blurry.

“I already told you. I’m your nightmare, Shanel,” she said then started laughing.

“Jillian!” I screamed as I try to catch my breath.

It’s not real. I was just dreaming. A bad dream.

Suddenly my door open amd Kyle entered the room with a worried face.

“What happened?” he asked and took my hand as he examine if I’m hurt or something.

I just watch him do that when he stop and notice that I’m actually trembling but also sweating so bad. My face is also covered with tears and I still can’t stop my self from crying.

“J-jillian,” I stuttered. Kyle sat beside me and started wiping my tears.

“We will save her,” he assured me and I was startled when he suddenly hug me and brush his fingers through my hair.

I just let her do that because it felt comfortable and it makes me calm. I feel so secure with his embrace.

“You should get up and get ready,” he said when he broke the hug.

That’s when I remembered my training. That’s right. Today is our first day!

I still badly want to stay on my bed but Kyle didn’t left the room and really waited for me to get up and start getting ready.

“Wow,” I whispered to myself when I entered the bathroom room. It’s almost the same size of our room in our old apartment! There’s a bathtub and even a jacuzzi! And what the hell a sofa is doing here?

“I can even sleep in these bathroom,” I said to myself and tried sitting on the sofa.

I removed my clothes and went to the shower.

When I close my eyes, I saw a flashback of my dream from earlier so I shook my head and just focus on cleaning myself.

It’s just a dream. Nothing to worry about.

I almost screamed when I saw that he is still here and sitting on my bed when I walk out of the bathroom. I use both of my arms to cover my chest when he looked at me.

Well, I’m wearing a bathrobe. But for pete’s sake he needs to get out of here!

“I’m going to get dress,” I told him but he remained seated while looking at me. “You should get out.”

A smirk curved in his lips when he stood up. I took a step back when he started walking towards me.

“Gallens!” I yelled at him when he came really really close.

“Tss. Here.”

I blink a few times and took the box he gave me.

“We dress differently in this world. You are the Lumen Princess so you really need to dress up nicely because the other lumen wizards will really look up to you,” he said before leaving my room.

I put the box in my bed and opened it. My jaw almost drop when I saw a beautiful dress in it. It’s a tube type of dress that is short in front but it’s back is almost touching the ground.

“Wow. I have to wear this?”

“Hurry up!” I was startled when I heard Kyle’s voice from the outside.

I thought he already left? So he’s waiting outside my room?

I put on the dress that Kyle gave me. I also brush my hair and just let it down.

I stop when I notice something.

“Kyle!” I yelled and the door of my room opened with force with Kyle running to me with a worried expression.

“What happen?” He asked.

I brush my hair again and pointed the part of my hair that turned white blonde.

“This happened,” I told him.

I have a naturally black hair so how come it has a mix white blonde that looks like a highlights now?

Kyle touches my hair that made me look into his eyes.

“Your power really awakened,” he said that made me frown.

“What do you mean?” I asked him.

“Shone has a white blonde hair now but naturally, he has a black hair like yours,” he said.

“So Shone’s white blonde hair is also because his power awakened? I thought he just dye it.”

“No. This happen to every Glacies in the kingdom. In the next few days, your hair will surely turned into a full white blonde. And your eyes might even turned into blue,” he said.

“My eyes?” I asked.

“Yes. You have a blood of an A’ris. And as you’ve seen with Jana and Jiro’s eyes, they have blue eyes. Shone didn’t get your mother’s eyes but you, you have the Lumen Queen’s eyes. So there’s really a possiblity that your eyes would also turned blue.”

I look at myself in the mirror again.

I can’t believe that the fairytales than can only be seen in chirldren’s book is happening to me in real life!

“What is it?” I asked Kyle when he remains standing next to me and just staring at me through the mirror.

“This is the first time you called me by my name,” he said and that’s when I realize he was right.

“I was just startled,” I told him.

“Why can’t you just call me by my name?” he asked and I look away from him.

“Your name is ugly,” I just said to him and headed to the cabinet where I can look for a shoe to match this dress.

Again, I was in awe when I opened the cabinet and found lots of different types of shoes.

“You need to wear those,” Kyle said when he was already standing next to me and looking inside the cabinet also.

He pointed the red stillettos that have about 6 inches heels.

“I can’t walk with those,” I told him.

He just went near the cabinet and picked the gladiattor that have about 4 inches heels.

“Then start with this pair,” he said and I just agreed with him.

After wearing the shoes, Kyle look at me from head to toe, giving me an approval look.

At the dinning hall, everyone is already there except for me and Kyle.

“Here comes our princess,” Master Jed said so all of them looked at me. I also notice that they dressed differently now compare on how we dressed in the mortal world. I guess most of the royalties in this world normally wear long gowns everyday.

“You look great,” Nikki told me when I sat next to her. I just smiled and thank her.

We started eating our breakfast while they were all discussing about the current events outside the Terrae Kingdom.

They’re informant told them that some of the lumen wizards had turned into dark wizards and those lumen wizards they can’t turn became they slaves. Most of them are so weak and dying because of hunger and exhaustion.

As of now, the dark wizards are on the move to find me. Maybe they figured out that they took Jillian as a mistake which made me more worried.

“What’s the worst thing could happen to her?” I asked them.

“They can kill her,” Elysse said that made me frozen. “She nothing but a mere human. They might also use her as an hostage for you voluntary go to them.”

“We should hurry up,” I told them with a pleading look. “Before anything happens to her.”
