The Lumen Princess

Chapter 5

I put Shana on the bed inside my room. I have to go and find Prince and tell him what we just found out.

I look at him in the garden but he is not there.

“Prince,” I called him when I saw him inside his room because his door is open.

“You have go follow me,” I said and went out first to go back to my room. He followed me there and he saw Shana sleeping.

“Who is she?” he asked as he looks at her.

“The girl that we’ve been looking for,” I told him.

He turned to look at before looking at Shana again and walking towards her.

“The necklace,” he said when he saw that Shana is already wearing it.

“It was shining brightly when it got near the two of them. So I put it on Shana in hopes that something different would happen and then-”

“It changed. The symbol was changed just like what my master had told me,” he said and hold the pendant. “This is the symbol of the lumen wizards.”

He brush Shana’s hair away from her face as he look at her with a small smile on his face.

“Can you leave us for a moment, Kyle?”

I just nod at him before leaving. I close my bedroom’s door and went to the living room where the others are waiting.

“What happen? You brought Shanel here?” Nikki asked so I told them everything that happened earlier.

“We finally found you,” I said. I didn’t notice I was already crying until a drop of my tear fell on her face that wake her up.

She look around her until her eyes found mine.

“Who are you?” she said and push me away. “Where am I? What happened?!”

Panick is evindent on her voice as she look around the unfamiliar room.

“You’re inside our mansion,” I told her.

“Who are you?” she asked again. “And what the hell am I doing here?”

I hold her still and made her look at me. I could see that she’s startled and confused as I look at her.

“Princess listen carefully,” I said that made her frown. “I’m Shone Glacies, your twin brother,” I told her.

She just look at me and then she started laughing so hard that she is already holding her stomach.

“Twin?” she said in between her laugh. “We don’t even have the same face!”

She laugh again that made me pissed.

“I’m telling the truth Shanel. I’m your twin brother. We are fraternal twins so we don’t look that much but we have the same eyes. And I know you notice that.”

She stop laughing and just look at me.

“How can I know if you’re telling the truth You might just be wearing some contact lens so your eyes would look like mine.”

Our eyes are very rare. It’s as blue as the sky with some frost on its iris.

I can’t think of anything that can prove her that I’m telling the truth. I think carefully and remembered the birthmark that my Master is talking about.

I was about to remove my shirt when she squeal.

“What do you think you’re doing?!”

“You have birthmark at the side of your stomach, right? That’s actually a symbol that you’re a Glacies and the two of us were the only one who have that kind of birthmark,” I told her and removed my shirt.

I showed her my back and pointed at my birthmark which is behind my right shoulder.

“It’s the s-same,” she said as she touch mine. “But what if it’s just a coincidence?! There could be some other people with the same birthmark! And could you please put your shirt back!”

Tss. She’s really my twin sister. The Lumen Princess. Just like me, she has a hard time believing what other people say unless there is a solid evidence.

“Wait here,” I said and went out of the room.

There’s only one thing that can prove to her that I’m telling the truth. It might shock her but this can open her eyes

Shone suddenly left.

Tss. Just because we have the same birthmark it doesn’t mean that I’m his sister. His twin sister.

But there is a part of me that wanted to believe him. Even Jillian and his parents never saw this kind of birthmark before. I even posted it on a social media before but they thought it’s just a tattoo.

I touch my neck when I felt that there’s something around it and from there I saw a beautiful necklace.

I removed it to look at it carefully.

“It’s beautiful,” I said smiling and wondering where did this necklace came from.

“That necklace belongs to our family,” I was startled when Shone came back. I didn’t even felt him entering the room again

“H-hey!” I look at what he is holding. “Why are you holding a knife?”

“This is the only way I know that will make you believe me,” he said and cut his palm with a knife.

I covered my mouth because I know that really hurts. I watch him pour the blood on the plate he is holding.

He came near me and hold my hand. I tried pushing him away because I already know what he’s about to do.

Is this some kind of DNA test or something?! Even if I hated needles, they are so much better that cutting my palm with a knife!

“Shanel listened to me!” he yelled at me that made me stop. “Don’t you wanna know who you really are?”

I look into his eyes.

This guy, I could feel that he knew something about me. And he is right. I’m thankful to the Levin family for treating me like their own child but maybe it’s time to know who I really am.

He also cut my palm with the knife he is holding and let my blood drop on the other side of the plate.

“Watch our blood,” he said so I look at it carefully.

My mouth parted as I watch our blood suddenly move on its own. It’s moving towards each other until it became one and turned into a clear water.

“How did that-”

“My Master told me about this. Only the siblings of Glacies Kingdom can do this. And that water was the only antidote from a Doxy’s bite.”

“Doxy? What is that?”

“A creature from Magus World. A creature from OUR world.”

“M-magus?”

“Magus world or magical world is the world where you belong. WE are wizards Shanel. A very powerful wizards. Specially YOU.”

I want to laugh again but as I look at him, I know he is not joking. And what happened to our blood is really not a joke. I tried to process what he is trying to say although it’s really hard to believe it.

“So your saying we’re twins and we’re a wizard? Like those from Harry Potter or something?” I asked and he just nod.

“We don’t have wands though.”

“The part that we’re twins, I could believe that but us being wizards? That’s insane.”

Like what the hell? Who would believe that such creatures really exist. Is this some kind of dream again?

I sigh deeply and stood up. It’s like he is trying to concentate. He lifted his right hand and our blood which became water suddenly move!

“Wha-”

I can’t even say a word as I watch him lift the that water from the plate. The water form a circle and he move it towards the flower vase beside me.

“Do you believe me now?”he asked. “Or do you want me to walk above the ocean?”

My mouth parted.

“You can also do that but for now, your power is not awaken yet and your body is still weak.”

I look down into my hands. This is too much to take.

“Come. I will introduce you to the other wizards who came here with me just to find you.”

After what I just saw, I can’t think of anything else so I just stood up and followed him.

We went to the living room where the six familiar faces are waiting for us.

“You know them?!” I asked when I saw Kyle and the others.

“Hi princess! Jiro A’ris here and my sister Jana A’ris” Jiro said and pointed at his sister that made me frown

I thought they’re Alvarez?

“Nikki Terrae.” She should be Torres, right?

“Clyde Ignis.”

“They use other surname to cover their identity. A’ris, Terrae and Ignis is their true family name. There were many dark forces in this world amd it would be dangerous if they found out that they are from those kingdom. The Glacies, A’ris, Terrae at Ignis were the most powerful Lumen Wizards. But you and Prince Shone are more powerful that anyone of us,” Elysse explained.

“That’s why you asked me,” I told her and she just smile. “If I believe in magic.”

She nod her head.

“So they’re wizards too?” I asked Shone.

“Yes Sha--princess. And maybe it would be alright to return your memories about what happened earlier.” Kyle said that made me confused.

He look at Shone and Shone just nod his head. Kyle walked towards me and held my head.

“Aduceamintiri,” he whispered and like a flashback from a movie, I saw what really happened earlier before I pass out and woke up in a unfamiliar room.

“That creature is called Dementor,”Kyle said.

Now they’re trying to explain and tell me everything but it just makes me more confused. The fact that wizards and magical creatures are real can’t even sink in so easily. And now, they’re telling me that I’m the Lumen Princess? The one who is destined to end the chaos in their so called Magus World?

“King Joe Glacies at Queen Diana A’ris are your real parents. They are the Lumen King and Queen who rule the Glacies Kingdom and the Magus World before the dark wizards take it from them,” Nikki explained.

“Let me show you what really happened and how you end up here in the mortal world.”

Jana look at Shone as if asking for permission and he just nod his head. She walks towards me and touch my forehead with her forefinger.

“Ostendere quod vidi.”

After saying those words, in a blink of an eye I was already in a different place or should I say a different world?

It was so beautiful. I could some little fairies flying around. My eyes widen when I also saw a castle in front of me. It’s made of crystals just like what I could only see on TVs!

Slowly, I took some steps to enter the palace and what’s inside is just beyond beautiful. Inside of it, I saw a King and Queen sitting on their throne with babies on each other arms.

A small smile escape from my lips until the surroundings became so dark. The beautiful castle a while ago had changd. Now all I see is darkness and some soldiers are fighting with their swords and magics. I saw the Queen running away with the two babies.

I followed her. There I saw her giving one of the babies to an old man.

“You’re the only person I can trust. Please take care of my son and give him this Lumen Necklace on his 7th birthday,” I heard her say and gave a familiar necklace to the old man.

“His name is Shone Glacies the Lumen Prince. That necklace could also help him to find his twin sister. This would be my last request to you as your Lumen Queen.”

“I promise to take care of the Lumen Prince, Your Highness. I will train him to become the toughest soldier and love him like my own son.”

The darkness came again and then I was suddenly in front of a well. I saw the Queen who is still holding the other baby.

“De putere care a fost dat la mine.. rogopatefacereaditummortale saeculum!”

Suddenly the well shine so bright that it’s blinding but I screamed when I saw the queen jump into the well.

“Damn it!” I hissed and just followed her.

I also jump into that well and when I open my eyes again, I saw the familiar surrounding.

Are we back to our world?

I saw the Queen running towards a church with the baby still in her hands.

When we got there, I saw a man in front of the altar, praying.

My mouth parted when I recognized that he is my father.

“Help,” the Queen cried and my father immediately caught her before she even stumble on the floor.

“Are you alright?” my father asked.

“I’m begging you, Mortal. Take care of my child,” the Queen asked in her weak voice. He gave the child to my father who took it without second thoughts.

“Take care of her and treat her like your own child.”

“But-” my father tried to say something but the Queen is already gone.

Then suddenly, I was back into reality.

“My father... t-that child,” I said to myself as my tears keeps falling from my eyes.

“That’s right. The baby that Mother brought into this world is none other that you. I was the baby she gave to old man. Mother had thought that iy would be too dangerous for you and they would find you easily if she would just hide you in the Magus World,” Shone explained.

“So, you’re really my twin brother?” I asked, still not believing the truth that is right in front of me.

Shone just nod his head.

“And you are the only one Shanel. You are the only one that can save OUR world,” Nikki said

I turned to look at them and I just shook my head.

“No. It’s not true. You’re all lying and just playing tricks with me.”

“You have to believe us, Shanel. There’s no reason for us to lie to you,” Clyde said.

I just shook my head again.

“We need you, Shana,” Kyle said that made me look into his eyes. “Our world needs you.”

And there it is. I just felt my heart suddenly beating abnormally faster as I look deeply into his eyes so I turned away.

“Can you give me time to think?” I asked them.

After that exhausting day, I just left that mansion.
