Clara Bennett was finally traced back to her wealthy biological parents, but nobody welcomed her.

Her parents and brother said coldly, “We only have Evelyn as our daughter/sister.”

Her fiancé sneered, “Evelyn is my one and only fiancée. Who are you supposed to be?”

Clara only stayed at the Bennett estate for three months before being thrown out.

But what they didn’t know was that Clara was already carrying a child.

And the father of her unborn baby was none other than the legendary, notoriously private tycoon of New York’s elite circle — and, complicating matters further, her fiancé’s own younger brother.

Chapter 1: Carrying the Tycoon’s Child
A luxury car pulled up at the entrance of the village, attracting countless curious eyes. Clara Bennett was thrown out of the car, landing in a heap on the ground, her white dress stained with mud. The young woman looked up desperately, tears streaking her delicate face. “Why are you doing this to me?” she whispered. “Clara Bennett, although you are the Bennett family’s biological daughter, you are wicked by nature and dared to scheme against Miss Evelyn! The Bennett family cannot tolerate you. Go back to your original home!” The butler had her luggage thrown down and then got into the car, leaving without a backward glance. Sitting in the back seat, Evelyn Bennett watched Clara’s humiliating fall through the window and smiled with satisfaction. So what if Clara was the real daughter? She was still the family’s true treasure. What blood relation could possibly outweigh twenty years of growing up together? Even if Clara had been traced back, she would always be the Bennett family’s only cherished daughter. The villagers surrounded Clara, pointing and whispering. “Oh, isn’t this the Bennett girl? I heard she was taken back by her wealthy biological parents. I thought she’d flown high like a phoenix! But who knew, just three months later, she’s thrown out!” “What a joke. Nobody’s ever seen someone being thrown out by their own parents. Who knows what dirty tricks she pulled?” “I just heard from the Bennetts that as soon as she returned, she tried to frame her sister and even tried to steal her sister’s fiancé. Truly despicable! No wonder she was kicked out.” Clara clenched her fists, her face pale, tears streaming from her almond-shaped eyes. She hadn’t stolen anything. She hadn’t framed Evelyn. She hadn’t tried to take Evelyn’s fiancé. But no one believed her. Her parents and two brothers all stood on Evelyn’s side, thinking Clara was greedy and cruel, and sent her back to the village. Clara had grown up in a living hell—unloved by her parents, unloved by her brothers, often beaten for the slightest thing. Finally being found by her biological parents, she thought she had a home. But no one loved her. If she had known this would happen, she would have never returned. They gave her hope, only to throw her away like worthless trash. If they didn’t want her, why bring her back at all? If she had never hoped, would it have hurt less? The light in Clara’s eyes dimmed little by little, her heart aching as if a piece had been gouged out. Meanwhile, her adoptive parents were playing cards, boasting to anyone who would listen about their “golden daughter” now living in the big city as a young lady. “I’ll have that girl send me ten thousand a month, or I’ll cause a scene at the Bennett estate. They won’t dare refuse me,” her adoptive father said. “Hmph. We raised her with so much effort. Now that she’s in a wealthy family, she owes us luxury cars and a mansion. Otherwise, she’s an ungrateful brat!” The villagers looked on enviously. “I heard the Bennetts are one of the wealthiest families in New York. You two raised their daughter, they must give you at least a hundred or eighty thousand, right?” “Even if the Bennetts don’t, Clara must be filial to you. You two are so lucky! I wish my useless kid was born into a wealthy family too.” Her adoptive parents basked in the villagers’ praise, their faces glowing, eyes full of greed. “All from the same village. Once that girl sends me the money, I’ll host a banquet for the whole village and give everyone red envelopes!” Just then, a few gossiping old women entered, grinning maliciously. “The Bennetts’ golden daughter isn’t reliable! She was just thrown out, luggage and all.” The adoptive couple froze, disbelief written all over their faces. “What did you say?” Her adoptive father lunged forward, grabbing one of the women by the collar, shouting angrily: “You crazy woman! Clara Bennett is the family’s biological daughter. How could they throw her out?” They were counting on Clara to bring them wealth! Without her, the whole family would starve. The old woman rolled her eyes. “Go look at the village entrance yourself. So many people saw it. Do you think I’d lie?” “The Bennetts really did throw Clara down in front of so many people, leaving her no dignity at all.” It was clear the Bennetts never wanted Clara. Even as a wealthy New York family, what did it matter if she was their real daughter? Raised in the countryside all these years, she was clearly unfit to be presented in society—a disgrace. Clara Bennett’s existence was a shame to them. Naturally, they would treat her with contempt. Her adoptive parents rushed to the village entrance, only to see Clara and her luggage thrown under a tree. Anger surged through them, and they slapped Clara loudly. “Useless girl! We raised you with such effort, hoping you’d have a good life. Who knew you’d be this useless!” “If you had been obedient, how could the Bennetts have thrown you out? I’ll call them on video now. You kneel to your parents and beg them to take you back!” They called the Bennetts, but their number had been blocked. Every contact method had been erased. The family was determined not to acknowledge Clara as their daughter. Her adoptive mother sat on the ground, hitting her thighs, wailing and screaming. “Why did I raise a useless girl like you? You threw away a life in luxury! What were you thinking?!” She dug her nails into Clara’s face, leaving a bright red mark. Clara shrank back, fearful. “Mom… I haven’t done anything wrong. I’ve always been obedient in the Bennett family.” Her words were cut off by her adoptive mother’s sharp voice. “Bah! If you had been obedient, would they have thrown you out?” “I fed you for so many years, not for you to eat and drink for free! If the Bennetts don’t recognize you, marry the old bachelor next village over and bring me a dowry!” Her adoptive mother scrambled to her feet. “Listen up, everyone! This useless girl is the daughter of a wealthy family. Whoever marries her in the future will have a wealthy father-in-law!” “Fifty thousand dowry, not a penny less! Whoever gathers the most money, I’ll personally see Clara to their home!” Clara looked at her in disbelief. Her adoptive mother was treating her like an item to be auctioned. The village men stared greedily at Clara, calculating if spending fifty thousand to marry her would be worth it. Clara instinctively shielded her belly. She could not marry anyone… because she was already carrying a child. The father’s surname was Drake—not Evelyn’s fiancé, but her fiancé’s younger brother, the infamous Alexander Drake. He was the one person in New York no one dared to provoke.
