*Cassidy's POV*     I watched in shock as this dainty woman embraced my mate. Her blonde locks swayed softly in the breeze as she embraced my mate. I saw the discomfort in Xavier's eyes as he looked at me awkwardly. It wasn't until she leaned up and kissed him passionately that I saw red. KILL HER!  Shadow growled. SHE IS KISSING OUR MATE! HOW DARE SHE TOUCH WHAT IS OURS!     I couldn't hold back my growl of anger as Shadow clawed angrily at the back of my mind, begging to be let out to attack the b***h who dare to put her hands on our mate.      I watched in satisfaction as she pulled away from Xavier before turning towards me. Her eyes blazed with anger as she shot daggers my way. I smirked in satisfaction as she turned back to Xavier. "Who is this?" She demanded angrily. "And why the f**k is she growling at me?"     Xavier stared at me in shock before panic filled his eyes. He glanced between me and Elise, but remained silent. Eventually, he cleared his throat and looked at Elise. "Um, Elise....this is Cassidy. She is from the Silver Falls Pack. This is the warrior I left to go pick up." He stated rather awkwardly.      Elise turned towards me. Her eyes scanned me up and down in disapproval as she made her way over to me. "Are we going to have a problem little wolf?" She demanded.     I ignored her question and glared at her. Shadow was growling in my head at the disrespect this she-wolf was showing us. I fought the urge to just rip her smug little head off her body. "Are you deaf? I asked you a question!?" She snapped.     I continued to ignore her as I looked at Xavier angrily. If he didn't remove her from my face there was no telling what would happen. Xavier stood where he was and gave me a pleading look. I turned back to the b***h and stared her straight in the eye. "We will have a problem if you don't learn your damn place and back away from me." I growled out.     Before I could react, a hard force came in contact with my cheek. I held it shocked as I stared at her. This b***h seriously just smacked me? I thought. At this point, Shadow was beyond pissed and there was nothing I could do to stop her as she leapt at the unsuspecting woman.     She hit the ground with a loud thud. Growling could be heard from both women as they fought on the ground. I screamed out in pain as she scratched my cheek, blood splattering the gravel. I pulled my fist back and started repeatedly punching her in the face. Blood coated my fist as I kept punching her, each knuckle splitting as I punched her in the mouth, her teeth ripping into my flesh.      As I pulled back my fist to hit her again, I was yanked back and thrown to the ground. Two warriors held me in place as I fought hard to be released. Xavier was by Elise's side, cradling her head as he looked at the damage. "Somebody call the pack doctor!" He roared. His eyes connected with mine and all I saw was anger there. Shadow whimpered at the look he was giving us. Why is he angry with us when the b***h is the one who started it? Shadow asked confused. Xavier looked away from me and instead looked at the guards holding me.  "Take her to her room and lock her in there. I will deal with her later." Xavier demanded angrily.      I stared at him in shock as the pack doctor showed up with a bunch of people. "By the Goddess! What happened!" The doctor demanded. Everybody turned in my direction, anger rolling off every one of them. "That woman there attacked our future Luna after disrespecting her." Somebody cried out. The doctor turned towards me and gasped out. Surprise lit up his eyes as he stared at me. He eventually looked away and turned back to Elise. "Somebody take her to the infirmary please." He demanded.     The warriors started to forcefully drag me away, grabbing me by the arms and shoving me up the stairs. I turned to look over my shoulder and felt my heart break as I watched Xavier follow Elise to the infirmary. He was choosing her over me. I didn't do anything wrong! That b***h was the one who slapped me! All I did was defend myself! But as we continued walking down the winding hallway, Shadow reached out.     That b***h deserved it you know. I shook my head angrily. Yes, but I could've killed her.....I shouldn't of beat her so much...I should've just walked away. Nobody heard what she said to me. They just saw what they thought was disrespect and then her hitting me and me attacking. I thought sadly. Not to mention, now our mate is mad at us....he might actually reject us now and accept her as his Luna instead.     Shadow growled possessively but I ignored her and sunk into my depressive state. We eventually made it to, what I assume, was my room. The warriors threw me on the floor and chuckled as the wind was knocked out of me. I laid there, gasping for breath as they glared down at me. "After what you just did, I hope the Alpha kills your worthless ass." One man sneered. He quickly stepped forward and kicked me in the gut. I cried out from the sudden pain as I tried to crawl away from him, but not before he landed another kick to my ribs. His partner quickly grabbed him and pulled him away from me as I fought to breath through the pain. "Adam have you lost your f*****g mind?" The warrior whispered fiercely. "If the Alpha finds out what you just did he's gonna punish you."     The warrior, Adam, glared down at me in disgust. "She disrespected our Luna! She deserves to suffer!"     Adam stalked back across the floor and kicked me one last time in the stomach. I cried out in pain as the metallic taste of blood filled my mouth. I cried on the floor as he stooped down before me. "Next time our Luna says something, you respond. Got it?" He grounded out.     With what little strength I had left, I turned my head to look up at him. "Over my dead body."     His eyes widened in shock as he looked down at me. "Excuse me?" He growled.  "You heard me." I said before spitting a glob of blood at him. "Tell your "Luna", that's from me."     Adam roared and stood up quickly, wiping the bloody spit off his face. "YOU STUPID b***h!" He yelled before kicking me in the face.     I heard the sound of bones snapping as my jaw lit up like somebody dumped lava on it. Blood pooled out of my mouth as I screamed. The door swung open and all I heard was yelling. I tried to focus on the voice and saw the doctor there yelling at the guards.  "Have you lost your f*****g mind! You could've killed her doing that s**t!" The doctor yelled angrily. "She shouldn't of disrespected our Luna! She had to be punished!" Adam tried to defend himself.     The doctor's eyes blazed with fury as he cornered the guard. "Alpha Xavier WILL hear about this. Count your blessings boy because the minute Alpha Xavier hears about you trying to play Alpha, he will show you who the true Alpha is. Now get out of here!" The doctor roared.     The guards quickly left the room as the doctor hurried to my side. "Jesus Christ Cassidy, what the f**k happened?"      I couldn't help but look at him in confusion. "How do you know who I am?"     The doctor looked at me sadly. "Let's not worry about that right now. You're body is about to go into shock and I need to get you to the infirmary fast."     His eyes clouded over for a moment before looking back at me worriedly. "Cassidy, you have to stay with me. Don't close your eyes." But I couldn't stop the heaviness that threaten to overtake my eyelids. I heard him yell my name one last time before I drifted into unconsciousness.    *********   "HE DID WHAT!?" A voice roared.     I tried to focus on the voices and people around me, but the pain of the bright lights made me flinch away. The male voice kept yelling in anger while the doctor and nurses tried to get him to calm down. I managed to crack my eyelids opened just enough to see the fuzzy silhouette of Xavier. He had somebody by the collar of their shirt and had thrown them against the wall.      I coughed loudly, drawing everybody's attention to me. Xavier dropped the poor man on the ground and raced to my bedside. Worry was all over his face as he grasped my hand tightly. "Cassidy, by the goddess what happened!?" Xavier asked.     I couldn't bare to look at him after what happened. If he hadn't of sent me away the way he did none of this would've happened. I was angry and hurt. I was his mate for f***s sake! He should've been worried for me not Elise and now look what happened! I had a broken jaw and was in the ICU.     I turned my head away from him but not before catching the look of hurt in his eyes. The doctor took a step towards me, the same look of concern on his face. "How are you feeling Cassidy." He asked me.     I wiggled my jaw back and forth and was surprised to feel only stiffness in my jaw. I looked at the doctor surprised and confused. "It feels fine! There's just a bit of stiffness there but other than that it feels like it's healed."     The doctor nodded his head in approval while checking something off on his chart. "That's great to hear! Well, I would like to keep you for an extra night or two just so I can be sure that there is no internal bleeding still. Your ribs should be healed by tomorrow, but judging by how your jaw is already healed, I'd say it could be sooner than that."      I nodded my head relieved at what he told me. I wasn't expecting to heal that fast, but that happiness quickly faded as I saw Xavier staring at me in confusion. "Um Dr. Baxter, could you step outside with me real quick." Xavier asked.     I watched as both him and the doctor walked out. Once the door closed, I looked around warily. I had multiple IVs attached to my arm and when I lifted my shirt, I saw stiches along my side. When I tried to sit up straight, pain shot through my entire body as I felt every ache and pain the guard left on my body. It felt like an eternity, but the doctor finally came back in. He grabbed his chair and pulled it up towards my bed, interest written all over his face. "So I assume you have questions for me?" He stated.     I nodded my head slowly, curiosity getting the best of me. "How did you know my name? We have never met before, but yet you looked surprised to see me." I asked him confused.     Dr. Baxter nodded his head at me before looking directly at me. "I apologize for that...it's just that you looked like somebody I knew a long time ago."     My curiosity intensified and I couldn't help but ask more questions. "If I may ask....but who?"     Sadness covered his gentle features as he turned his head away. Tears welled up in his eyes as he cleared his throat and tried to compose himself before turning back to her.  "You looked a lot like my sister, Julie....she left with her mate long ago. Nobody knew what happened to her. I used to receive letters from her and then one day they just stopped...." He trailed off sadly. "I blamed myself. I thought she was angry with me because I constantly begged her to come back home...our parents missed her so much. It was torture...."      He wiped his face, chuckling softly. "I'm sorry...here I am dumping my life problems and you've got your own to worry about. I do apologize. But that's the past now, I just can't let go." He laughed bitterly.     I grabbed his hand gently and took a deep breath. Afraid of the answer I was about to receive. "You said your sister's name was Julie?" I asked quietly.     He nodded his head sadly. "Yes...Julie Baxter. Why do you ask?"     I looked at him with tears in my eyes. "Julie Baxter....is my mom."     Dr. Baxter looked at me in shock. "There's no way...it can't be. I knew she had two kids...a boy and a girl.." "Named Cadence Anthony Reynolds and Cassidy Elaine Reynolds..." I finished.     His eyes widened in shock as he stared at me. Fresh tears spilling down his cheeks. "By the goddess...it is you." He pulled my into a tight hug, crying happily before pulling away. "So tell me everything. How's your brother?"      I sighed sadly at the thought of Cade. "He's angry at our father for trading me away to the most ruthless Alpha. He tried to help me run away and hide but Alpha Xavier found us before we could make it far."     Dr. Baxter nodded his head. "So I heard. And what of your mother? Is she well?"     Tears welled up in my eyes at the thought of mom.  "She died when I was 10 years old. Father won't say why or how. Just one day I woke up and father had a meeting and just said she died. The pack was devastated. My brother demanded answers but we never got any. To this day it's still a mystery." I finished sadly. I held her necklace tightly as I tried to remember her.     Dr. Baxter remained silent for a moment before looking back at me. "Well now I know why she never wrote back....." He looked up at me and raised his eyebrows surprised. "Where did you get that?"     I looked down confused. "What? The necklace? It belonged to my mom. When she passed away father had her room barricaded off and my brother had snuck in her room and stole this from her vanity. He gave it to me on my 16th birthday. He thought mom would want me to have it." I finished.     Dr. Baxter held out his hand to me. "May I?"     I nodded my head, carefully taking the necklace off and handing it to him. He gently grabbed it and looked down at the pendent. The necklace itself was made out of iron, while the wolf pendent howled up to a blood moon made out of ruby. I watched the doctor as he stared at the necklace. "You know," He began. "Our mother gave this to her when she turned 21. Since we can't wear silver, she had it made out of iron to ward off the fey. The ruby was said to be a powerful stone since it was created from the blood moon itself."     I looked in awe as he explained the necklace to me. He reached around his neck and pulled out a chain that had a similar pendent as mine and I couldn't help my gasp of surprise.  "You have one as well?" I couldn't contain my amazement as I gazed at the necklace now in his hand.     He smiled softly as he slipped the chain from around his neck and gently placed it in my hand. I turned it over in my fingers, admiring the details that mimicked the one I had. "These pendants were passed down in our family throughout the generations. "He stated. "Whenever a new generation is born, they are given this necklace. Your mother and I were twins, so we each received ours at the same time. It's very uncommon for that to happen but it isn't unheard of. But our mother, your grandmother, bestowed this to us when we were 16. Just like you, we were born on the blood moon." He finished.      I gazed at his necklace a moment longer before handing it back to him just as he gave me mine. "But I don't understand," I began confused. "Why are we given these? What makes them so special Dr. Baxter?" "You can call me Scott," he stated smiling. "Or Uncle Scott. Whatever you prefer." "Ok Uncle Scott." I said smiling. "What do the pendants mean?"     Scott stood up and walked to the door. He peaked his outside looking back and forth before closing and locking the door. He came back over and sat by me again, a serious look on his face. "Cassidy, you have to swear not to tell a single soul about what I am about to tell you. Do you understand?"     I nodded my head quickly and waited for him to continue. "You see Cassidy, our family bloodline is a powerful one. Thousands of years ago, your great grandmother was the royal princess of the werewolf kingdom. She was the most powerful princess the kingdom had ever seen and her people loved her dearly...." He began. "But wait, you said princess. Did she never make it to queen?" I asked confused.     Uncle Scott sighed sadly. "No.....you see, back then there were rules that were never suppose to be broken.....if they were...well it resulted in a death sentence. In order for you to understand everything I will have to start from the beginning." He let out a deep sigh, rubbing his forehead. "Every year the royal palace held a Halloween ball. It allowed all the neighboring kingdoms of different entities to come. It was the palace's way of keeping the peace between all the kingdoms. The ball required everyone to dress in royal costumes. It was a way of showing everybody was an equal in everyway without basing it off of appearance. But anyway, that night your grandmother met her mate.....and well...it was complicated." "How though? Was he a servant or something?" I asked curiously. Uncle Scott shook his head. "No, he was a warlock." "How is that bad though?" I asked confused. "You must understand Cassidy, back then it was considered illegal. There were rules that prevented inter-species mating. It was considered an abomination to have a mixed breed child because they could be unpredictable, so if you happened to have a different species mate, you had to go before the royal council and have them officially break the mate bond and find same species mates. Well on that fateful night your grandmother met her mate. She was thrilled fore that meant she could ascend to queen. But the thing with warlocks is that they can disguise their scents with magic. They could be whatever they needed to be and we as werewolves would never be able to tell the difference. Well, she told her parents about her newfound mate and the king and queen announced it to the entire council and everybody who attended that night." "Who was he?" I asked excitedly. "Well....his name was Christopher Adam Morales."
