ichael was being held tight in the winged being’s clawed legs.
“Damned bird! Let me go!” the panicked man shouted. But he wriggled one of his arms free and finally stabbed its belly, but he soon realized that it would not set him free so easily. And he was right, since that being, which looked like an eagle, was a one of the most formidable and ferocious predators among the predators living on that planet, similarly to terrestrial eagles. Unlike eagles, it had four wings. It had a fan-shaped tail and two legs; its digits were terminated by five curved dewclaws that looked like spurs.
