Chapter no: 03 "Snowman"

A few hours before,
“Sir, we have found a black Camry near the location. A single big wooden house was built there. The car was spotted there.” His colleague reported.
Barrett asked,
“Did you check who was living there?”
“Yes! He was a famous child. Doctor David Watson. He came out on T.V a few times for interview as well.”
Barrett said,
“Let's get backup ready. We are going to catch that bastard today. Let’s go.”
Amelia was listening and she quickly got inside the trunk of Barrett’s car quietly.
Right at the moment,
“What are you saying? “David asked.
“Why? Can we confirm it right now? Show me your left hand?” Barrett said.
David said,
“Why?”
Barret shouted,
“Show me!”
Barrett grabs his hand and rolled his sleeves up. A big scar was right in front of his hand.
“You basta**! Are you still going to deny it?” Barret asked.
David replied,
“How can you blame someone just because of a minor scar? I got hurt while fixing my car. It’s just a coincidence that I have a scar too. Actually, do you know that if you were proved wrong for blaming me without proof, I can sue you or you will get suspended.”
Barrett said,
“You can’t give me a threat like that. We will see if it’s just a coincidence or whatever in the police station.”
“You can’t arrest me like this, come when you have proof,” David said.
Lia asked David while she was crying,
“Honey, What is happening?”
“Nothing darling, you go inside and don’t worry,” David replied.
Barret asked David,
“Then tell me where you were last night between 1:00 to 3:30pm or can we check your CCTV camera footage?”
David replied,
“I was at home. Sleeping beside my wife! Honey, tell them.”
David was looking at Lia.
She was thinking that he was not home last night and got suspicious and confused.
“Honey, say something.” David said to Lia.
“Yes yes yes! We were t-together and were sleeping.” Lia said stutteringly.
“Sir, it’s an order from the head that we should let him leave because we don’t have solid proof.” Barret’s colleague said quietly to him.
“What the f**k?! He is that bastard.I was looking for a long time. I will not go before arresting him.” Barret said.
“Sir, please let’s go”. He lowered his voice to a whisper. “If something goes wrong, you will get suspended.”
Amelia was watching from the car. She runs towards David and grabs him by his hand. She was grabbing his hand and her eyes were closed. While she was reading his memories, her nose was bleeding.
“You!? What are you doing here?” Barrett asked Amelia.
Everyone was looking at her. What was she doing?
David let go of her hand and pushed her away. She was not in a good state. She falls on the snow man. The snowman was destroyed and the black shopper was seen in the snow.
Amelia screamed,
“YOU MONSTER!”
And she fainted suddenly.
“What is happening? What’s in that shopper? Hey, John ( Barret’s colleague), check that shopper out fast. What is in it?' Barrett ordered.
He picked it up and opened it.
“Ohhhh!”
He threw the shopper on the floor and there were the fingers of the victim in it, which David was trying to hide.
“Ahh,fu**! It’s not fun anymore.” Said David.
“You bast**! Is this fun for you killing those innocent people?” Barrett shouts.
Barrett was throwing fits at him while everyone was trying to stop Officer Barrett.
David was laughing crazily.
“No , this can’t happen. Oh my god! What the hell is going on? (Miss Lia falls on the ground) and she was not in her senses.
A random police officer said to Lia,
“Miss, please check yourself.”
In the investigation room,
Barrett comes inside.
“Why did you do all of this? What did that innocent girl do to you? What does an ordinary citizen do to you? That you did have to kill them this brutally! Why? Why? Why? Barrett asked David curiously.
David replied,
“Haha! Ahh, they didn’t do anything. I just did it for fun. Do you know how fun it is to see the blood coming out when I cut their fingers and see them begging for their useless lives?”
“You bastard.”Barret stood up and grabbed David’s collar. “You are not a f*****g human? How can you do this?”
David replied,
“Haha, it’s so easy. Do you want me to teach you?”
Barrett shouts,
“Don’t you challenge! I can kill you right now, right here. Just answer the damn questions which I am asking.”
“Why did you make butterflies on the back of their bodies?”
David replied,
“Oh, come on! I just like butterflies. I was just stamping them on. They look beautiful. They are the butterflies of my dark garden. My garden was about to get filled but you ruined everything.”
Room no: 204 “Amelia Stepherd”
“Can you please tell me where the room of the patient is named “Amelia Stepherd,” John asked. (Barrett’s colleague)
“Yes! She is in room number 204. Go straight, turn right, the fourth room in front.” Said the nurse.
John replied,
“Okay thank you.”
Knock knock….
Amelia’s aunt said,
“Yes, come inside.”
Barrett introduced himself,
“Hello! We are from the police, I am from the district investigation department. My name is Barrett Alan.”
She bowed, shook her hand and said,
“Thank you sir for catching that bastard. I am so grateful to you.”
“No no. It’s my duty. Actually, I should thank Amelia for this. She helped me a lot,” Barret said.
Barrett looked at Amelia and patted her head.
“Can I have a talk with Amelia privately?” Barrett asked Amelia’s aunt.
She replied,
“Yes, yes, of course you can.”
They walked outside the room and sat on the waiting bench.
Barrett asked,
“Hello, how are you? Are you feeling well now?”
Amelia replied,
“Yes sir!”
“Just call me uncle” Barret said.
Amelia smiled and said,
“Okay!”
“How do you do that?” Barret asked surprisingly.
“What?” Amelia asked.
Barrett replied,
“How did you know that he has a scar on his left hand? How did you know that something was hidden inside the snowman? You did something right?”
Amelia lowered her voice and said,
“Only my parents know this but now I am telling you, but please, it is a secret between us only. Promise me?”
Barrett quickly said,
“Okay, okay, tell me now. I will not tell anyone, promise!”
“I can see their memories”, she said in a lowered voice.
“Hahahaha, What are you talking about?” David said while he was laughing.
“I am not joking. Please am I serious?” Barrett asked Amelia calmly.
“I’ve already told you. Now, it’s up to you to believe it or not,” Amelia replied.
Barrett asked shockingly,
“I can’t believe it! Are you for real?”
“Do you need proof? Give me your hand quickly.” Amelia said.
“What? Why? Are you going to read my memories too? Ahh, seriously this kid.”
He gave his hand to her. She closed her eyes.
“What is she doing seriously? And I can’t believe I actually gave my hand to her to check.” Barrett was memorizing.
After a few minutes,
Amelia said,
“You are coming after meeting him, right?”
“What?! How did you know? You… you really did read my memories?” Barrett was shocked.
“ Are you still not believing it? Do you want me to tell you what you had for dinner last night? Amelia said.
“Ahh, okay tell me.” He was shocked.
Amelia said,
“ Did you have instant noodles in carbon flavors? Don’t you?
Barrett was totally shocked. He was looking at Amelia’s face and started thinking in his mind about how she could do this..?
Amelia continued,
“You have only been for instant noodles for the past weeks. Just have a proper meal, uncle Barrett, or you will get sick if you keep having them.”
“Yes… yes! I understand, take some rest. I am going now. Barrett said.
He stands up.
“Do you believe it now or not?” Amelia asked.
Barret smiled at her and said,
“Yes, obviously!”
He waved his hand and said
“Bye.”
