Chapter Two

1046 Words
Karleigh's POV *Beep… beep… beep…* What the actual f**k is that noise!? I quickly sat up in my surprisingly comfortable bed, when did I ever think my hay bed was comfy? My eyes flew open, remembering what happened.. My pack is all dead.. I could have stopped it all. If I wouldn't have been selfish and just used my powers to stop the attack. I couldn't control myself as the tears started flowing down my face. Sob after sob slipping from my throat as I curled into a ball willing the Goddess to take me and bring my pack back. "Karleigh.. I know it's hard but you must stop crying my child. We need to leave. They have us." Iris whimpered in my head. "You're right Iris. We need to find a way out of here now." I quickly got out of the bed I was in, pulling all of the wires from my body and rushing over to one of the walls. Part of my Earth powers included being able to find a wall or foundations weak points. It was definitely going to work in my favor right now. I focused on the wall looking for any type of weak spot, and after I found it I immediately started hitting this spot until it caved in. I lit one of my fingers like a candle and started climbing my way through the small metal tunnel on the other side of the wall. I used my sense of smell to lead me outside, following the slight scent of wet grass. Finally making it to the end, I pushed the little metal grate open and shimmied my way out the tight metal tunnel. I didn't stop to take in my surroundings before making a run towards the woods across the property. You'd figure being a wolf I'd easily be able to spot all the pack warrior's training in the field to the right of me. But I didn't. It wasn't until I was tackled to the ground by two warriors that I noticed what was happening. I was so caught up with escaping I didn't stop to take in my surroundings. I didn't care what these people saw of me anymore! I will no longer hold back. I felt the fire seep from my fingertips, completely engulfing the two wolves that tackled me. I heard the howls all around me as the rest of this pack felt the passing of these wolves. I could see more warriors surrounding me from all sides, ready to pounce but awaiting commands. This was an unfair fight, but I had feelings we could take down half the pack before they took me down. Suddenly I smelt the most amazing thing in the world… It smells of a campfire with a subtle hint of cinnamon. The smell has me drooling, wanting to find the source of the smell. I took off running towards the smell, jumping over a wolf and shifting in mid air. I loved the looks we're getting. Iris loved attention. Most wolves were the typical brown and gray, occasionally being born as black wolves. But a wolf split perfectly in half with black on one side and white on the other? That's pretty rare. Especially since my eyes were two different tones. The white half of my face had a baby blue eye, and the black half of my face had a red eye. I let Iris take over as she ran past all the stunned warriors and ran as fast as she could towards that amazing smell. "MATE!" Suddenly Iris was pushing herself faster. She quickly entered a clearing only to stop in her tracks. There in the middle of the small clearing was the six men from her pack, and a seventh man with his back to us. Iris started stalking towards the men, snarling and snapping her jaws to get their attention.. "I will rip them limb from limb!" Iris was running full speed at men in the clearing, but they didn't seem fazed. Right as we were about to pounce on the man with his back to us, he turned, catching us in his arms and falling with us to the ground while gripping us tightly. Electricity tingles all over my body as this strange man held my wolf to the ground. "Shift my little mate. You will not be harmed my Luna." His voice was as smooth as honey, his eyes as cold as night. I couldn't help but find myself nuzzling into my mate's scent. Iris couldn't deny him, she was already in love with him and she didn't even know his name! It felt like an eternity before my body fully stopped shifting from wolf to human. It felt like the entire world stopped moving around me as I lay underneath my mate. Iris might be in love but I wasn't being fooled just yet. My body was acting before I even had time to command it. Suddenly my mate was flying ten feet into the air, landing somewhere else. I had summoned vines to grow from the ground, coming up and wrapping the other six men up tightly. "You have destroyed my pack, taken my friends and family away from me. For what? A small piece of land to add to your territory!?" I didn't even realize I was crying again until it was too late. My mate was suddenly at my side holding me tightly against him. "You slaughtered them!? I sent you there on a mission to ask them about joining our pack!" I'm guessing my mate was the Alpha of this pack. His voice was loud, echoing for what I assume to be miles of land. I couldn't take this anymore. Within a few short hours my entire life has been flipped upside down. I started feeling really wobbly, even being supported by my mate. Oh no.. I felt the blood start to pressure up my ear and around my nose and before I knew it I was collapsing into my mates arms with blood leaking from my face. Second time I've passed out before getting his name! Everything fades to black around me but not before I hear a whisper in my head… "My name is Apollo.."
