Chapter 17

Amethyst POV

Daemon and I get to the church. I pull out my tablet following the trackers.

" It looks like they are down in the catacombs again where you so rudely interrupted me last time" I smiled.

" Hey now I said I was sorry " He laughs .Then pulls me into his arms tight against his chest.

" Be careful Amethyst. Stay near me and don't  do anything reckless. I wish you would have stayed back with Nick. I would never be able to recover if something were to happen to you " His eyes filled with worry and love. 

" I promise Daemon. However, I'm not going to cower and hide letting my man do all the work. That's not who I am"  I whisper against his lips. 

I gaze up at him wrapping my arms around his neck. He wraps his arm around my waist then kisses me so tenderly and filled with passion. 

" I know baby. I love you Amethyst. Forever."

" And I love you Daemon. Forever and Always"

We turn and start sneaking our way into the church and back down the catacombs. As we make our way down to the alcove I was before. I begin to smell gross death and blood .  Vampires smell so bad. 

 We hear.

" Ok ,everyone's accounted for lets move out" The same female as last time says.

 Then I hear what sounds like a brick slide. Then a whole wall slide. Foot steps follow, mixed with chatter and muffled talking.  Then a few minutes later I hear the wall slide again then silence. 

" Ok lets go " I whisper to Daemon.  He pulls his pistol and I pull mine, clearing the room. 

" Nothing" He says. I stand in the middle of the room focusing my emotions on finding the loose brick.  A brick on the wall to my left falls out revealing a numeric terminal. I walk over to the Console. "Daemon can I have your knife. "I ask. He bends down pulling a 6 inch military knife out of his boot, and hands it to me.

" You can keep that one if your forgot yours" He says.

" No its ok, All of my have a paralytic on the blades so I didn't want to use them to dig mortar from around bricks" I wink.

 I finish pulling the brick below the console out then take my bypass wiring harness off my belt hooking it from my tablet to the terminal. I use the knife to take off a bottom access panel off the console then plug the end that's not hooked to my tablet into the terminal. 

" Oh so you just want to dull and ruin my blades" Daemon smarts off, while I hack into the console. It beeps then a wall to the right opens up revealing more stairs.

" Basically" I say kissing him on the cheek then bending down between his legs, sheathing his knife back in his boot. 

" I swear woman, when I get you home " He growls throaty. 

" Promises, promises " I say then sashay to the newly found door.  I hear Daemon groan and walk up behind me. He picks me up by my waist and hold me for a second kissing my mark. 

 We keep following the stair down for about 5 minutes and then the room opens up to an underground city filled with white wash gothic architecture.

" They have been busy I see " Daemon says. I pull out the tablet and check the girls location. I show Daemon.

" Let's move" I whisper. He wraps his arms around me and jumps to the top edges of the building. Crouching down I whisper " That strength makes sneaking about much easier. They should be close by" 

We jump a few more building to avoiding being detected by any of the basic vampires called drones. They must have been building this for centuries. Its a whole under ground city as far as the eyes can see.  

"Over hear" he says

 We look into a court yard where all the humans and standing in a line with collars on their necks and chains connecting them together. We can see about 10 stronger Nobles standing in front of them talking. A bunch of the  drones just standing around. But then I see two large doors open up at the end of the courtyard and all the nobles kneel, followed by the drones.

 Out of the door steps a 6 foot man. Muscular build with blue eyes the color of the ocean. Blonde hair and radiating the most evil death filled aura I have ever seen. 

I hear Daemon gasp " Cassius.... The Vampire King "

I look at him with question. 

Daemon links ' He is the current Vampire King after Morpheus was murdered  15 years ago. 

Behind him I can see another vampire dragging a woman in chains out and throw her at Cassius feet. My eyes widen in horror. 

'Bella ' I whisper through mind link

' What is she doing here' Daemon links back.

' I don't know' I am worried for my bestfriend safety. 

' We need to find a way to get all of them out of here safely. '

'Just stay calm Amethyst.'

Then I hear a loud Booming voice that send shivers down my spine. Not the good kind like Daemon's smooth seductive deep voice. The kind that are like nails on  a chalk bored, or make you feel like you want to vomit. 

" Come out little Sorceress, I won't hurt you " Cassius hissed.

Daemon looks at me with pleading eyes ' Please don't. '

" I am not a patient man"  Cassius spits.

Then he calmly walks over to Kathleen  caresses her face then grabs her neck and one movement snapping her neck as she falls lifeless to the ground. 

" Do I need to repeat myself little one? Come out now " Cassius says again. His voice laced with irritation.

I can see Bella, Bastet, and Rebecca's eyes are wide and filled with horror that they might be next.  For what feels like an eternity I sit here trying to think of a plan to get us out of this mess.  However, I have only arrived with one plan. I know Daemon is going to be mad at me but he will have to understand I need to help our people and stop this.

I grab a tranquillizer dart and quickly stick it in Daemons leg. He is too strong so it will only last maybe 5 minutes but it will be enough for me to get them free.  He looks at me as he slumps down in out hiding spot unable to move. 

' I love you Daemon, and I am sorry. I can't  let our pack members and  family  be killed '  I link him. I can feel his anger and fear pulsating through his emotions. If I had not tranquilized him he would have lost control of his beast. 

I sneak down from our hiding spot and jump down near Bella.

" Release her NOW you disgusting blood sucker!" I tell him.  

" You are in no position to bark orders at me. " 

' Once I kill the ones holding you run. Beta Nick is waiting outside the catacombs. ' I mind link to Bella, Bastet, and Rebecca, using my Luna command. 

' Yes Luna ' all three respond. 

I feel one of Cassius little drones come up to me an grab my left wrist. I grab him flipping him downto the ground , drawing my weapon, and pulling the trigger. Launching wooden bullets into it's chest. Then I take out the one holding Bella. Reload and hurled two stakes into the chest of the two Vampires holding Bastet and Rebecca. I see all three of them take off running disappearing running. 

I really hope they make it out safe.  Then a feel cold arms wrap around my shoulder as I hear Cassius voice in my ear. 

" That wasn't very smart you will be coming with me"

I feel a sharp pain on the back of my head as I am hit with something. Then I feel the strength leave my limbs as the darkness starts to overtake my mind and fall unconscious.
