Midnight’s POV
“Unfortunately my child you can’t stop him on your own. Which is why your daughter is so important,” Selene says. “She will lead her siblings and your armies into battle against Erebus’ demon army. If his army reaches the veil they will be able to release him. All you have to do is make sure that my siblings and I have enough time to seal the veil permanently. When the planets align we will have a short window but we cannot do this and fight off the Knights of Hell and their demon army,” She says.
“Who are the Knights of Hell?” I ask.
“Soldiers trained by Cain. The most ruthless demons in the underworld,” Selene says.
“Ok but if they’re in the underworld what’s the problem?” I ask.
“The problem is they’re disappearing from hell. A dark witch is using necromancy to raise their spirits and put them into a deceased supernatural body,” she says.
“Deceased supernaturals? Which ones?” I ask.
“Most commonly, wolves. When a werewolf’s inner wolf dies it is replaced with a demon. They will have all of the demon’s abilities. Only the demon is stronger than the human side. Lower level demons can be killed with an iron blade to the heart. They can possess other supernatural beings as well. Any supernatural that has a human side and a shifter side. Wolves, Sirens, Foxes, Werecats, Werebears, Dragons, and of course hybrids,” Selene says.
“Wait Dragons are real?” I ask.
“Oh you will find out soon enough,” she says.
“What does that mean? I don’t think I can handle your cryptic messages. Just be straight with me,” I say.
“Honey, there is a reason you haven’t been able to summon Aroha’s spirit from the other side. After she passed I knew you would need her. I stopped her spirit from moving on and told her everything I’m telling you. I asked her if she’d like to be reborn as another supernatural so she could help you in your fight,” Selene says.
“And did she say yes?” I ask.
“Instantly. She said she’d do whatever it took to come back to you. She only had one request,” she says.
“What was it?” I ask.
“She wanted to be reborn male. Something about having a bigger d**k than your other mates. A silly request but I granted it. I told her she wouldn’t be able to choose which supernatural being she would be reborn into. I chose the Dragon. She looks pretty badass if I do say so myself,” she brags.
“But she knows who she is?” I ask.
“Yes he does. Keep in mind that his life started when Aroha’s ended. He was born with all of Aroha’s memories. I only altered his name in each memory. I wanted him to be able to remember you and your mates,” she says.
“What’s his name?” I ask.
“His name is Alaric and he lives in the fairy kingdom,” Selene says.
“Why hasn’t he come here?” I ask.
“He can’t. You have to go to the fairy kingdom and find him. He is the next in line for Alpha of his Thunder,” she says.
“Thunder?” I ask.
“A group of Dragons is called a thunder. His father is passing his Alpha status down and unless he steps down or is defeated in battle he will be the next Alpha,” she says.
“So what happens to his thunder if he comes here?” I ask.
“He has siblings that will have to fight for the title. Those who choose to fight for leadership fight to the death. Only then will Alaric be released from his duty to his thunder,” Selene says.
“But he hasn’t even made contact,” I say sadly. “Doesn’t he miss us?”
“He remembers you all. But it’s more like a dream. He will not feel the connection until you two are reunited and the made bond takes place. Once your mate bond returns I suggest marking and mating immediately. Dragons are incredibly powerful,” she says.
“Dude, I am pregnant with four babies. I’m due in a month and you’re telling me to go the the fairy realm, find Alaric and immediately get knocked up and pop out a bunch of dragon/werewolf/vampire/witch babies?” I ask.
“No Midnight. These children will be dominantly Dragon. In human form they will have your magic and vampire abilities without having an inner vampire. No bloodlust or red eyes. They may not even have an inner wolf if Alaric’s genes are strong enough,” She says.
“They won’t have a wolf?” I ask.
“I honestly don’t know. When they are conceived I will have to judge each soul to see if it is strong enough to carry more than one beast. I don’t want to overwhelm any of my children and give them more than they can handle,” Selene says.
“I understand,” I say.
“Oh and by the way, these babies will be here sooner than you think,” Selene says.
“How long?” I ask.
“Two to three weeks,” She says.
“Anything else you want to spring on me?” I ask.
“Your Daughter’s powers will grow quickly. She will shift early which means she may find her mates sooner than expected,” Selene says.
“Will she have three mates like me?” I ask.
“She will have more than one mate but not in the same way you did. She will not have a wolf, vampire, or witch mate. That is all I will tell you. The ones in this realm will be drawn to her at the right time. She will need to journey to another realm for one of her mates,” Selene gives me a hug and cradles my belly. She presses her lips to my belly and it glows, “Good luck Midnight.”
“What did you do?” I ask.
She doesn’t respond, she simply smiles and disappears. I close my eyes and pull myself out of this plane. I open my eyes and the aunts stop chanting. Shawn and Andrei help me sit up.
“What did she say?” Shawn asks.
I tell them everything Selene and I talked about.
