Freya Pt. 2

“Freya! Doc, what's wrong?” Drake asks, jumping up out of his seat. Drake is growling at Dr. Smith and it looks like he’s fighting his wolf for control. “Midnight I need to work. You have to control him,” Don says. I wave my hand towards Drake and freeze him in place. I mindlink him to calm him down. ‘Drake baby. Freya’s uterus burst and she’s bleeding really bad. Dr. Smith can save her but he needs to focus. You’re frozen right now. When you come out of it both Freya and the baby will be just fine. I love you baby.’ I told him. He can’t respond in this state but I can feel him calm down. I focus all my energy on the baby in my hands and heal him from head to toe. I levitate Drake over to me and unfreeze him. His son starts crying and has already turned pink. He’s breathing on his own and his heartbeat is strong. “Freya?” He asks. “I’m going to help him now. Go take the baby and wait with your fathers. I need to help Dr. Smith with Freya,” I tell him. Drake takes the baby and goes to his fathers. Andrei wraps his arms around Drake and the baby. “She has to be ok. I can’t do this on my own. Dad, I need her,” Drake says. His voice is shaking and it seems like he’s fighting back tears. “She’s going to be ok son. Mom will make sure of it,” Shawn says. After cleaning my hands I go back over to Don. “What can I do?” I ask. ‘Alpha. I’m going to have to remove her uterus to stop the bleeding. I’ve tried everything I could to repair it. My sutures aren’t holding,’ he says via mindlink. He knows if Drake hears him all hell could break loose. “What if I heal her as you stitch. If you work quickly I can heal her as soon as she’s stitched together,” I say. “That could work,” he says. ‘What about pups?’ I ask. ‘It’s too soon to tell. There is significant damage. We’ll just have to see how she recovers.’ “Ok, let’s do it,” I say. I place my hand over her open womb and as Don stitches her closed I heal her wound so that his sutures hold. It feels like hours before we’re done when really it only took a few minutes. He can stitch almost as quickly as I can heal. “Her heart rate is stabilizing. She should be ok. Can you send me to the hospital so I can set everything up for her recovery?” Don asks. I open a portal that leads to the pack hospital. He steps through after telling us to wait an hour before moving her. I take my time to gently clean her up and dress her in a clean gown. I fix her hair into a messy high bun so it’s not in her face when she wakes up. When I’m done I snap the unnecessary equipment away and Drake comes to sit by her side. “Hi baby. Our son is beautiful. He needs his mama, so I need you to wake up. I need you too, baby. I can’t lose you. I love you so much baby. Please don’t leave us Freya,” Drake cries by her side. ‘Alpha, her room is ready,’ Dr. Smith mindlinks me. “It’s time to move her,” I tell Drake. “Ok,” he says nodding.  He places the baby in his cradle and I open a portal to the pack hospital and Dr. Smith steps through with one of the nurses. “Hello Alpha. I’ll be looking after Princess Freya and the baby,” she says. “Thanks Kathy, but I’ll be taking care of my son,” Drake says. “Of course Prince Drake,” she bows.  Dr. Smith and nurse Kathy roll Freya through the portal. Drake levitates the cradle and it follows him to the portal. “Drake, wait. We need to bless the baby. I will take him straight to you. You need to be with Freya,” I tell him. Drake hesitates. “He’ll be ok with your mom son,” Shawn says. “I know he will. I just don’t want him away from me. What if she wakes up and he’s not there?” Drake asks. “We’ll only be a few minutes behind you. She’s still sedated,” I tell him. “Will you come with me dad?” Drake asks Andrei. “Of course son,” he says. “Look out for him dad,” Drake says to Shawn. “Of course son,” Shawn says. Drake and Andrei step through the portal and it closes behind them. Sukie, Jane, and Alexandra join us in the ritual room and I reverse the magic I used to create the operating room. We place the cradle in the center of the room and perform the blessing. “Thank you for everything,” I tell my Aunts. “Of course my dear. We love having you all here. Make sure you bring Alaric to see us when you bring him back,” Sukie says. “I will. But I think we’re going to wait until Freya wakes up to go to the fairy realm,” I tell her. “She’s going to be just fine, in time,” Jane says. “Now get this little angel back to his daddy. I swear I can feel his anxiety from here,” Alex says. “Ok, we’re going,” I tell them. I levitate the basket through a portal and we all make our way to the pack hospital. “Mom, we're going to go check on Mikayla. She was in the shower when dad told us about Freya and we kinda left her behind,” Connor says. “You did what?!” I say. “We were in a hurry and she had shampoo in her hair,” Boston says. “So you just left her behind?” I ask. “She just kept yelling go go go. So we left,” Connor says. “Did you at least mindlink her?” I ask. “We can’t. We haven’t marked her yet,” Boston says. “What is taking you boys so long?” I ask. “We’re not ready,” Connor says. “And we’re not rushing her. She saved herself for us mom. It has to be perfect,” Boston says. “Fine. Connor you go get Mikayla and bring her to the pack hospital. Boston you’re coming with me. If Freya isn’t awake yet Drake is going to need his big brother there with him,” I say. They both nod their heads. Boston follows me to the pack hospital and Connor runs up to his room to find his mate. We enter the pack hospital and nurse Kathy meets us in the waiting room. “Right this way Alpha,” she says, leading us to the Royal Suites. “How is she?” I ask. “Still the same I’m afraid. Her vitals are stable but she still hasn’t woken up and Dr. Smith is running some tests. He said the surgery went well with your assistance and she should have been up by now,” Kathy says. We arrive at Freya’s room and I can hear Drake’s voice. “Why hasn’t she woken up?” he asks. “I’m sorry your highness. I don’t have an answer. I’ve run every test I can think of. Only the Goddess knows when she will wake up. She is in perfect health,” Dr. Smith says. We enter the room and Drake jumps to his feet. Boston picks the baby up from his cradle and brings him straight to his father. Drake holds the baby to his chest and breaths in his scent. “Thank you Don. Please keep us updated on her condition,” I tell him. “Yes, Alpha,” he says.
