Chapter 3 Aiden sat on a chair near the bed, his eyes focused on his mate. After some more discussion, Aiden had concluded that the news of the trespasser being his mate would be kept hidden. Only Aiden, Julian, and Oliver knew about it, and it would stay like that. The pack was very excited to meet their Luna, but under these circumstances, Aiden didn't really know what to think or do. Before he had met his mate, even he didn't realize the mate bond would be this strong, but now, all he cared about was his mate. He wanted him to open his eyes, talk to him, and ask him if he was ok. The rest didn't matter much anymore. Aiden roamed his eyes all over his mate's face. His heart ached at the scars and the bruises. His face looked so calm right now, deep in sleep, but Aiden knew how much the poor soul had suffered. Aiden's wolf had also gone silent. Kael, Aiden's wolf, had been waiting for his mate desperately, so this news was completely devastating for him. Aiden was going to have to find a way to deal with his wolf and calm him down, but for now, he was giving him space. He could feel how heartbroken his wolf was and knew that he needed time to process everything. "I am so sorry you had to go through all that torture." Aiden brushed his fingers over the other man's hand, "I promise I will never let you suffer like that again." A knock on the door pushed Aiden out of his thoughts, "Come in." The door opened slightly, and Oliver stepped inside with hesitant steps. He moved his eyes from the unconscious patient on the bed to his alpha. His heart ached too, for his alpha and the pain he had to bear. "I am sorry to disturb you, alpha." Oliver said Aiden nodded, "It's fine. What is it?" "I found some traces of silver in his body, still present. So we have to perform some treatment to remove it." Oliver said, "When can I start?" "You can start now." Aiden stood up. "I will leave." "Ok, thank you, alpha." Oliver bowed slightly, "I will take care of him." Aiden put on a small smile, "Thank you." Aiden moved towards the door and was about to leave but stopped for a second and looked back, "When will he wake up?" "I can't really say for sure. His body needs rest." Oliver said, "It could even take a day or two." Aiden nodded, "Call me as soon as he wakes up." After saying that, he left from there. His mate was breathing and would receive the needed treatment. Now, it was time for Aiden to deal with the other important things. He came outside the clinic and moved his head upwards. In front of him was the most beautiful sunrise. Fresh morning air hit his nose as the sun came above the horizon, painting the blue sky with the most beautiful shades of red and orange. If it were any other day, Aiden would have loved this view and deeply cherished it, but today was different. Nothing could excite him anymore. He removed his phone from the pocket of his pants and dialed the number. In a few rings, the receiver answered the call. "Julian, meet me in my office in an hour." Aiden said He had asked Julian to go back to his house and rest. Even in his pain, he could still see how much his best friend was doing for him, but he needed rest too, so he sent Julian home. Moreover, Aiden needed some space to deal with everything. "Ok." Julian replied, and Aiden cut the call. In Aiden's office: Inside Aiden's office, the air was tense. Aiden sat on his chair while Julian stood against the table. Both the men knew the situation was intense, and they had to deal with it now. "Find whosoever did this to him." Aiden was the first one to speak, "I need to peel their skin off with my own hands." Aiden's body was fuming with anger. At that moment, he couldn't think of anything other than punishing the person who did those atrocities to his mate. He wanted to find them and serve them a revenge so cruel they begged him for death, but he didn't plan on that. No, he didn't want to kill them. He wanted every fraction of their minute to be brutal. He wished to be their personal hell, one without any escape or forgiveness. "Calm down, Aiden," Julian said. He knew his best friend was at the urge of madness, and he understood it. He was in full support, but he needed Aiden to think rationally. "We don't have any clues." Julian added, "Once he wakes and we get to talk to him, we will find out something and then begin our investigation." Aiden sighed, "I don't want to put him in that pressure. It won't be good for him." "Aiden." Julian said softly, "He is going to be fine. You are the most amazing guy, and you will take care of your mate. You will make him forget all his scars, and he will talk about who did this to him. When he does, we make sure to give them hell. You will skin them alive and I will clap the loudest from the crowd, but we need to take it slow. These things take time." Aiden's eyes softened at that. He was so lucky to have a friend who completely understood him and knew how to deal with his insanity.Aiden knew Julian was right. This would take time; that was inevitable, and he had to be calm. "Thank you so much, Jul." Aiden smiled softly at his best friend. "You are the best beta and my favorite friend." Julian cracked a smile at that. "I am your only friend, loser." The duo laughed together at that. The beta was gone, and now the best friend was here. This was exactly what Aiden needed. He couldn't forget the wounds. The situation was still messed up, and his mate still lay unconscious on his bed, but behind the closed doors of his office, as laughter echoed, he knew things would get better. He would make them better for himself and his mate.
