Bex loved the demo I created and apologized profusely. She also made a very public announcement that she was proud to be working with me for the design of her app. She apologized in the announcement for trusting a less than honest colleague and almost ending our partnership and being grateful to me for my honesty and hard work.
I appreciated it, but it didn’t change my mind about wanting to design more for myself. I wanted to update Book Boyfriends Wanted and make the app better. I wanted to create other apps I’d considered over the years but never had the guts to do. I wanted to do things for my friends and loved ones.
I was done chasing work from people who could destroy everything I did with a few careful keystrokes and some perfectly placed bad words.
