"Ms. Meyers, I am sorry but Mr. Meyers is getting full custody of Roxas. I am giving you a week of visitation. After that, you will have no contact with Roxas until you have become stable. Mr. Meyers agreed to send pictures and updates on him. You may talk to him on special holidays if his father deems it okay."
"Please your honor-" The judge held his hand up. "Ms. Meyers, I understand that this is hard, but it is not safe for you to be around your son in your current state. I rule that Mr. Meyers also gives you 50 percent of the money. It seems fair, seeing that you have to leave everything behind and start over. Spend your time with your son wisely, Ms. Meyers. Case dismissed." With that, he got up and left.
I couldn't move. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see my cousin Jax. "Come on Ro. Let's go get Roxas and go to my place." I nodded as I got up. I looked around the empty courtroom. I didn't realize that I had been sitting there for so long.
"Zac and the b***h have already left. They should have Roxas and his stuff ready by the time we get there." I sent him a sad smile. "Thanks, Jax." He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead. "Anytime Rogue."
We pulled up to my...Zac's house and got out. Zac met us at the door. "Rogue, you know I'm not doing this to hurt you, right? We may be divorced, but I still love you. Get your life back on track, and then I will consider giving you partial custody." He tried giving me a side hug, but I backed up.
"If you loved me you wouldn't have replaced me with a plastic gold-digging Barbie and I would still have my baby." Rage filled his face. "Don't talk about her like that!" Jax pushed me behind him. "Zac, let's just be civil about this. She's just lost her husband, kid, and house because of that girl. You can't expect her to be accepting of the situation."
Zac's expression softened, but I knew it was fake. "Come inside, and I'll get Roxas and his things." I went and sat in the living room. I heard arguing. "You aren't going to let her take him are you?!" Jessica screeched. "Yes, because she is his mother! It's only fair to let her have one last week with him." I could tell he didn't want us to hear the conversation.
"You're giving her money?!" Jax shook his head. "Damn, I would hate to f**k that b***h. There is a difference between screaming and sounding like a dying cat." I rolled my eyes. "No, you're not!" "I don't have a choice here Jess! The judge ordered me to! It's fair seeing how she lost everything!"
"You still love her!" Everything went quiet. "She was my best friend. I'll always love her." We heard a slap throughout the house. "f**k YOU!" I heard Jessica go into our...their room and slam the door.
Zac came down with Roxas. "Sorry about that. Here take him while I get his stuff." I grabbed him and forced a smile on my face. "Hi, baby!" Roxas hugged me tight and smiled. "Mama!" I kissed his head and hugged him tight. "I love you, baby. Are you ready to go spend some time with Uncle Jax?"
Jax may just be his cousin, but he has been more of an uncle to Roxas than my brother has. Hell Zac's parents are the only grandparents he has since mine disowned me before Roxas was born.
Roxas looked up at Jax. "Unca Jax!" I laughed as Jax picked him up. "Hey, little man! Say bye to Daddy, and we will go get into the car." Roxas waved to Zac. "Bye, Daddy!" Zac kissed his forehead. "Bye, buddy see you soon." Jax and Roxas walked out of the car as I turned to Zac.
"I promise to bring him back. As much as I would love to just run away with him, I won't." Zac smirked. "I know you won't because your ass will be thrown into prison for the rest of your life." There's the Zac I know and hate. He puts on a show for Jax and Jessica. I would love to see the look on her face when he starts in on her.
He tried to kiss me, but I turned away with tears silently rolling down my face. "Have my stuff packed, so I can pick it up when I drop him back off. Don't let her touch it." By now he had wrapped his arms around me. "I will. Maybe we can have one last round before you have to disappear." As he tried to kiss me I was ripped away from him and punched in the face.
"STAY THE f**k AWAY FROM HIM!" I touched my lips. The b***h busted it. "Jessica stop." Zac stood in front of me. "Don't protect that slut!" By now all I saw was red. Zac laughed. "It's not her I'm protecting." Jessica glared at me, then Zac. "I'm not scared of this suicidal freak."
"Jessica stop. If you want a fight, continue, but she will beat your ass." Jessica looked like one of those cartoons. "YOU'RE MY BOYFRIEND!" She screamed at Zac and then turned to me. "I have your man and your son. I'll have him calling me Mommy in no time, and he will forget all about you."
That did it. I punched her right in the nose. I smirked when I heard the crunch of her nose breaking. "ZAC!" Zac backed away with his hands up. "I warned you." As she was screaming at him, I picked up Roxas' stuff and slipped away smirking at Zac.
I slipped in the car. "What happened? I can hear Jessica screaming from here." I turned to look at him and he clenched his jaw. "She hit you!" I glanced back to see Roxas almost asleep. "Shh!" He gave me the 'you better tell me' look. "Zac tried to kiss me and she flipped. I broke her nose though." He grinned. "That's my girl!"
"Let's go get some food." He pulled out and headed towards Pizza Hut. We picked up a pizza and headed to Jax's house. When we were done eating, I promised Roxas we could eat popcorn and watch movies all night long. When I put him in bed, he had fallen asleep after the second movie, I sat and watched him for I don't know how long. "How am I going to make it without him? I don't know if that is even possible." I whispered to Jax, sensing him standing in the doorway behind me. "We won't stop until he is back with you. I promise to do everything possible to make that happen. You have no choice but to push through and make it. For Roxas."
With that, he went to bed and I curled up in bed with my baby." I knew Jax would do everything possible, but I also hadn't told him everything that Zac had put me through. If he knew what I had been dealing with for the past 5 years he, without a doubt, would be in prison for murdering Zac and I refuse to let Zac take anything else from me. I held Roxas close and kissed his head. "I love you so much baby." I whispered. My last thought as I fell asleep was, I don't know how I was going to do it, but Jax was right. I have to make it for Roxas.
