Well here goes nothing. I was getting ready to go in a very nice summer dress and some really nice flats and me and William had made a plan to go to the movies. Its 7:45. IM SO NERVOUS. I don't like this feeling. 'Maybe I should cancel' I thought. HONK!!! 'OH MY GOD, TOO LATE!!! HE'S EARLY!!' Cue panic attack. 'Why am I doing this? Why did I say yes?! Oh my god. This is going to be a shitshow. I'm so scared. Once he gets to know me he's going to hate me' I panicked. I am 23 years old and I am a virgin, even my first kiss with Andrew was awful (the only person I've ever kissed) I feel like I have no life at all sometimes. HONK!!! "Jesus. Okay. Amanda relax, you got this." I said to myself. I grabbed my purse and headed to the front door of Sam's house. She was luckily at work so there's no one spying out the window right now, thank god. I got to the front door, took a big deep breath and opened it. I saw William in a really nice red SUV. I don't know why but I was cautious. I guess I thought he wasn't going to show up at all but he did. Color me surprised. I walked over to the car, opened the passenger door and got into the car. "Hello William. Nice to see you." I smiled. "You too, Darlyn! Let's get going!! We don't want to miss the beginning!" He seemed so happy to be here with me. Excited even. 'Is this what it's like to go on a date? This isn't so hard!!' I thought. 'Dont get too much confidence, it's only starting' I kept that in mind as we walked into the movie theater. The movie was so boring, it was some weird action movie. I honestly can't even remember the name of it, it was just too bad. One thing I do remember is him holding my hand during the movie. It wasn't expected. But I was over the moon. I was comfortable with him. That's extremely rare for someone like me. I felt happy for once. But it didn't last long. I forgot to turn my phone off and it started ringing in the theatre, I hung up then slowly walked out of the theatre to make sure it wasn't anything or anyone important. I was wrong. The hospital was calling me. It said so on the caller ID. That's weird. Who could that have been? What's wrong? I called the hospital back. No answer. Tried again, got an answer. One that I couldn't have expected in a million years. "Hello, I just missed a phone call. My name is Amanda Webster. Id just like to figure out what this is about?" I said hesitantly. "Oh hello Mrs. Webster. Yes, that was me. My name is Sabrina. I am a medical examiner here at the hospital. Im calling today because there has been an accident." "I'm sorry I'm not understanding. Who had the accident?" "Well, we found your phone number in a woman's phone. She had an accident and we are trying to figure out who she is because she had no identification on her at the time of the accident." My heart dropped. 'Who could that be? My mom? Oh my god is my mom dead? Isn't a medical examiner someone who looks at dead bodies? And figures out how they died? DID SOMEONE DIE?!' My head was going a mile a minute and I was getting very upset. This was the moment that William came out of the theatre to see what was taking me so long. He saw me on the phone and came to stand beside me. "Ma'am, Can you tell me what she looks like?" William looked at me strangely. Tears started forming in my eyes. He knew this was not a good phone call. "Of course. She looks to be in her mid twenties, East Indian race, about 6ft tall. Very skinny with long brown hair and a butterfly tattoo on her neck." My heart shattered into a million pieces. Samantha. "Ma'am that woman is my best friend. Her name is Samantha Robinson. Please tell me what happened. She's not okay, is she?" Dreading the sound of the cracking in my own voice. Williams eyes widened. He's slowly starting to understand what's going on. He grabbed my other hand and held on tight. "Amanda are you sitting down?" I knew this wasn't going to be good. so I sat where I stood. I slowly slid down the wall and slumped into a heap onto the ground. "Yes I am." I said quietly. "Unfortunately, it seems like your friend Samantha was in an accident with a drunk driver. It was touch and go for some time but her body couldn't take anymore trauma. I am so sorry to have to tell you this. But your dear friend, didn't make it."
