Chapter 8
The next morning, after she prepared Kate for school, she walked back to the kitchen for the first coffee of the day.
She stood there waiting for Daniel to come up, to talk to him.
He was down the stairs, when a blonde woman, coming from outside, embraced him.
Leila felt a sting in her heart but did not move.
They could not see her there.
- Hi baby, I’m back.
- Hi, Olivia.
- Did you miss me? I missed you.
- I not even noticed you’re gone.
- Oh, baby, are you hurting me. Come, let pick up where we left.
- Olivia, I’ve told you before, I’m not interested. You must find your mate, as I found mine.
The blonde women gasped in shock.
-You’ve found your mate? Really? Where is she? I want to meet her.
Leila began clenching her nails.
-She is not here. I don’t want you to meet her.
-Why? You are afraid that I will do something bad to her? Or is she a small frightened woman?
-I just not want you to meet her. And if you do meet her, you’ll see she is nothing you imagine of.
He looked at the kitchen door like he was seeing Leila.
Blondie let out a clap sound from her mouth and left, after pecking his cheek.
He groaned menacingly after her, wiping his face of her kiss.
He again looked at the kitchen door, standing like wanting to go inside.
But with a sad look, he walked to his office.
Leila watched him go.
‘- We could kick her ass.
-Myra, behave.
-Oh, shush, I know you’d want that too.
-Yeah, I do.”
She thought about following in his office, and say what to him?
That she is sorry, and she wants him to smile at her again?
She could do that.
Or not.
With the pretext that she has to go to the training room, she did not talk to him.
In protest, Myra growled at her the entire morning.
