Chapter 10
In the middle of the night, she woke up, hearing something.
It was a howl or a wimp.
And now was silence.
But it wasn’t a dream.
She looked at Kate, who was sleeping next to her.
Then she heard it again.
In her mind.
A long howl, wolf howl, through the mind link.
Who could do that?
Only some kind of wolf could do that, an Alpha one. Daniel.
A few minutes of silence then again that horrible sound.
She looked worried at Kate.
But the kid was still sleeping.
She stood up and walked outside, in the hall.
A lot of people were moving up and down the stairs, with blankets, and pillows.
She saw Peter in front of Daniel’s room.
- What’s going on?
- Leila, are you OK? Please take Kate and go downstairs with the others.
A long wolf cry made Peter cringe.
