ILIANA’S Point Of View My shoulders were bulging downwards as they continued to sag as if all the world’s problems laid there, whilst I leisurely dragged my feet on the concrete floor. I was dejected, to say the least …my mind nonchalantly withdrew itself from all thoughts or coherency. I forced myself to open the annoyingly heavy front door as I entered the house. My sneakers noisily scraped the hardwood floor as I continuously dragged myself towards the ohh… so inviting homey black couch. Too lazy to climb the stairs or even think about removing my shoes. My backpack was tossed to the cold floor as I laid my energy drained and dejected body on the plush and comfy living room couch. The delectable scent of aunt Pamela’s double chocolate chip brownies awoke me from my more than-needed power nap. I could feel the boost of energy that the nap had provided me as my brain no longer struggled to function. As if sensing me waking up, her smile greeted me with glee clear on her face as she approached me with the tray of yummy, delicious goodness. “Thanks for the food aunt P …I haven’t eaten anything all day,” I professed to my favourite aunt with the hot but delicious brownies still in my mouth. My hands immediately covered my mouth as I mumbled a sorry for speaking with food still in my mouth. Her eyes continued to stare me down as if daring me to lose my manners. I was too hungry to stop eating and too annoyingly talkative to shut up… but the fear of daring the beautiful, petite, fierce redheaded women outweighed all thoughts as my lips remained sealed on instinct. “ Don’t eat so fast darling you might choke,” Her perfectly manicured hands handed me a glass of milk “ here is some milk,” I gladly drank the cold beverage without any hesitation . “ am off to the pack house I just came by to make sure you were properly fed after your last warrior’s training exam I know how you feel about math being part of the syllabus, your father made some sort of lasagna by the way…please stay away from the nasty and inedible thing,” My aunt voiced out as she played a kiss on my forehead. “ and don’t tell your father I said that!” She warned as she exited the door. I laughed at my father’s lack of cooking skills as I walked to my room .I’m just very glad to have Pam looking after us after we lost mom. The homey scent of a refreshing, crisp peppermint hit my senses as I got into my room signifying that dad had been there. A freshly picked bouquet of flowers laid on my nightstand with a blue card written “You should rest, princess, you’ve been studying a lot lately and I’ve noticed how stressed you are. I hope you feel better since you have written your last paper. There is lasagna in the fridge, eat. I am immensely proud of you my little warrior… p.s daddy loves you”. Wet salty liquid trailed my cheeks, my body trembled, the harsh and aggressive pounding of my heartbeat rang through my ears as my once peaceful and serene room turned dreadful and atrocious. The pungent odor of decaying flesh replaced the delicate aroma of flowers as the once beautiful bouquet of flowers turned bloody and decomposed while still in my bare hands. Screams and sobs caught my attention and opened my eyes to the pungent smell of death. The cuddly stuffed animal’s blood-drenched head laid on my bed… my mind kept racing, wondering what kind of animal beheads a little cute teddy bear…but that didn’t distract me from the beautiful pale little girl beside the beheaded toy bear. Her beautiful Crystal blue eyes looked at me with a sense of startling helplessness. The thick, fleshy, bloody line across her neck gushed with blood as I stood there… watching as she bathes in a pool of her own blood. A disillusioning sense of panic startled me as the urge to run bombarded me. The putrefactive, pungent smell of burning and decaying flesh welcomed me as I ran outside. My legs continued to run on their own accord as the sense of danger and fear overtook my system. The fear wasn’t enough to cover my venomous fury as the instinct to protect my pack members empowered me. I shifted into my fiery red wolf as rage overtook my system. Immediate pain rendered me immobile as a plague of agonizing loss hit my system. I could feel them, all of them, I could feel their souls leave their bodies, I could feel their bond being savagely ripped off the pack link. The death of Alpha king Xavier crippled me as the sense of h-her death ripped my heart to shreds…there was no doubt in my mind that Palesa had …no! I refuse to accept it, she’s still alive! My wolf’s senses must be mistaken! “RUN LIA!! RUN…KEEP HER SAFE C-claret…Go! Claret get her out Clar-…” Roared a voice in my head as it forcible relinquished me from my comatose state where screams and sobs deafened me whilst the foul, putrid smell of burning and rotten flesh mixed with the pungent, metallic taste of blood caged me with fear as the instinct to gag overcame my system. A blood-curdling scream tore through my lips as I shot up from the petrifying nightmare that reminded me of my horrific past…my heart began to viciously pound against my chest as I struggled to effectively get air through my lungs. The tainted smell of blood and rotten flesh still lingered in the air and filled me with uncertainty, perhaps it wasn’t just a nightmare, I questioned myself as I felt the dark cloud of misfortune looming over me. My body viciously shook in an alarming manner, my breathing became aggressive as I began to hyperventilate. My dislocated shoulder harshly hit the floor as my body continued to tremble … leaving me bound and caged in my own misery. I tried to focus on my breathing but nothing worked as my mind and body continued to keep me imprisoned. I heard the rattling of metal and keys as the sound of footsteps got closer. I heard voices yet I could not make out the words being spoken. The blurry sound of voices slowly disappeared as I slipped into darkness and hollow oblivion. I fought to regain consciousness and I undoubtedly won. My eyes feasted upon my weirdly tranquil surroundings…I could tell that I was caged in a cell but the clean and tidy cell extensively confused me. A medical-grade drip was connected to my arm, my dislocated shoulder had been snapped in place and all my wounds were cleaned and bandaged. A thick metallic bracelet laid on my wrist as it connected to a long chain that effectively chained me to the small bed while still allowing me movement. I’ve never heard of such a thing, no pack has such a cell, yes it’s not lavish but the bowl of fruits and the gallon of water was new compared to the blood and dust that resides in most cells. Even my pack, the royal moon pack, had dark, dirty, and bloody tiny cells where we kept trespassing rouges and prisoners. Their comfort never mattered because we consider rouges as our enemies …some packs even going as far as killing rogues on sight. Unfortunately for me, I have become one of them. I could detect two guards on the other side of the cell. I thanked the moon goddess for the realisation that their cell had the same build and make as the cell we trained to escape from in the royal warriors training in my pack. My wolf was nowhere in sight as I began to devise an escape plan just like my father had trained me. The pack’s hospitality was appreciated but it did not guarantee my life and survival. Images of the tall, buff, and aggressive blonde male that I had encountered the night before flooded my mind and begged me to escape as soon as possible. Great strength radiated from the overly muscular man. I could tell he held a position of power in the pack either the alpha or the beta but I wasn’t going to stay long enough to find out. Three things ran through my mind, I either try and find Luna Olivia, escape from the pack or die trying either way I will not wait around to find out what will happen. All the generosity could just be a trap for me to let my guard down, which will not be happening anytime soon.
