ILIANA’S Point Of View My body hit the grassy ground with a thud as I tripped over and fell once more. My nerves skyrocketed with panic as I ran from my prison cell. I prayed for the two guards I attacked to still be unconscious so as to not alarm the pack of my escape. Sharp pain radiated off my shoulder as it began to hurt to a new extent thus making me regret underestimating the cell guards that I had rendered unconscious whilst I fought for my freedom. My father always said, “don’t fight with the aim to kill if you don’t have to, any good escape plan needs a plan C and plan C is don’t kill unnecessary so if they capture you again they don’t end up killing you for killing one of their own,” Plan B was if plan A failed then improvise. Every breath I took reminded me to run faster as I felt whatever pain medication they had given me start to wear off. The big red jacket that I had umm… “borrowed” from one of the cell guards provided me with warmth and comfort as I buried myself in the guard’s pine scent hoping to dilute the rouge scent that I reeked off. My father always admired my stealth and made sure to help me perfect it. My stealth allowed me to quietly and carefully sneak around the pack territory as I tried to get to safety. I made sure to avoid the cheerful werewolf pups playing tag within my vicinity. The she-wolf with the three pups made me more alert because she looked to be quite lean and strong, she was probably trained in combat and for that reason, I stayed far away… making sure she didn’t detect my scent. I could finally see the pack’s boundaries, I could hear my wolf growl in anticipation, I could smell my upcoming freedom, I could almost … just almost taste my victory and it was bittersweet. My wolf suddenly surfaced to my consciousness as if sensing danger. Frozen Ice cold I stood, I turned and observed my surroundings but alas they were nothing in sight and I was home Scot free… I took a deep breath in the anticipation of my freedom as I tried to make sure no guards were patrolling around the border. A shiver racked through my spine as I caught a whiff of the scent of rogues that polluted the air…for a moment I prayed my scent wasn’t soiled to that extent. “Am sure the pack can handle some rogues,’’ I told myself. There is no use in me going to warn them, I am sure they will be fine besides not all rouges are dangerous repulsive creatures, take my beautiful self for example I wouldn’t harm anyone for no reason. “Ahhh…” A very loud girly screech struck through my auditory nerves and on instinct I ran towards the noise. Two rogues were fighting the blonde she-wolf I had passed playing with pups, my eyes immediately scanned the area in search of the pups but I found nothing. I quickly interjected myself in the fight. I jumped on top of the muddy brown rogue and sunk my claws on its back and tightly wrapped my legs around its neck, using its weight against it I dragged it down and gravity did the rest as my legs stayed tightly twisted around its neck till it stopped struggling and fell into unconsciousness. The pack she-wolf had effectively taken down the other rogue as blood gushed out of her arm. “Where the hell are the pups? What happened to them, are they safe? Did you mind link the pack?” I enquired from the fierce-looking she wolf…her eyes scanned my body as she maintained her fighting stance. I could tell she didn’t trust me and I didn’t blame her, I was a rogue after all. “Listen, I am of no threat to you or your pack. I was just passing by. Are the kids safe or not, where are they?” I tried once more to reason with her. “come” Mumbled the she wolf as she ran south . “two other rogues are chasing the kids “ She informed me as she shifted to her pale blonde wolf. I too shifted to my majestic red wolf even though my father always warned me to never shift with broken bones and wowww, daddy was right it hurt so much I couldn’t even stop the pain-filled growl from escaping my lips. My paws hit the ground as I ran with the pack she-wolf, whilst ignoring the pain from my unhealed shoulder. The pups were huddled up together as two repulsive rogues circled them. I sprang into action and threw myself at one of the rogues and pinned him on the ground. I growled at him daring him to attack me when the other rogue clawed through my back which aggravated me beyond measure. I growled at the she-wolf as she dug her claws at a rogue. She looked infuriated, to say the least, but she still understood me as my wolf’s head pointed at the huddled up pups as a silent “take the pups and keep them safe” She ran with the pups protecting them from the trauma and going to get help even though I could tell she wanted to stay and fight. I sunk my extended canines in the rogue’s neck as he continued to twitch till he could move no more . “one down and one more to go,” Mumbled my wolf in my head as the rogue and I circled each other. A loud growl rang through my lips as he pinned me down and dragged his claws on my foreleg. A loud c***k rang through my ears as my shoulder was dislocated yet again. The rogue laid on top of me, pinning me down and looking as atrocious as ever. I couldn’t move, pain had caged me .My whole body was frozen stone-cold as I fell into a pathetic frenzy. A loud growl caught my attention as the rouge got ripped off me and then a cracking sound followed as a muscular man snapped the rouge's neck. I was appalled to see such a display of strength and malice. My eyes met his ocean blue ones and I froze, my body shook like a leaf on a windy summer’s day. Disdain and dread filled my system as I came face to face with him. It was him…the man that had captured me the night before and behind him stood the two prison guards that I had attacked to attain my freedom. Honestly, I don’t even think it is my fault that they let an injured, harmless little girl such as myself escape. His calm, Stoic state did nothing to calm my raging heart for I knew at that exact moment that I was indeed done for. The delectable smell of freshly brewed coffee filled my senses. My wolf stirred in anticipation as the fear of the huge man diminished and was replaced with unexpected glee. The scent of divine coffee accompanied by the smell of baked goods grew stronger as if I had entered a “Starbucks” like a coffee shop. The scent was soothing and comforting…it was as crisp as finely roasted coffee beans and as warm as newly baked, fresh out of the oven chocolate cookies. All in all the scent was homey and very heavenly. A man came through the tall pine trees. No! not a man but a man-E, capital letter E. Too much was going on at once, his intoxicating scent suffocated me as my soul stirred and trashed within my body as if wanting to escape and catch a breath of fresh air away from the favor some air that was now tainted with his scent. My wolf purred in satisfaction, wanting to dwell and bask in the comfort and warmth that his presence provided. His eyes stared at my own and the world didn’t stop as I had anticipated, no…it spun as fast as the speed of light in a vacuum. My eyes remained on him and for a moment his gaze locked with mine and I swear for that exact moment I knew I needed a doctor for something was definitely wrong with me. His stormy silverish gray eyes trapped me in place as I examined him and he was…he was…wait a moment, let me figure out the right words …h-he was, nope…I still got nothing. No words or coherent thoughts passed through my head as one word rang through my mind and ran miles around my head and that word was “mate…”
