It all started with many generations back when my great-great grandma aadya she was the alpha female of the pack. She was a beautiful and strong she had lived with the pack since it began. She had been there for my mother’s mother. The alpha male was my great great grandpa Kwan he was kind and strong he had led the pack till today. I’m Laqueta and this is my story. *Chapter One* All I’ve wanted was to be accepted, and respected in life but even when I was a pup I was rejected. I was never there for more than a second. Others don’t want me in their home, they say, “You can’t come because you are a nuisance and didn’t deserve to live in our pack.” They all laughed. Then I asked them, “Why me, Why…” I stopped when I saw my mom looked at me it was no longer a loving look it was more of a disgusted look. She wanted nothing with me she hated me. When I woke the next day I look around she was gone. Her scent was stale but there was a rabbit there in front of me. I knew that it was a parting gift from her I had known that she would leave me soon. I would want to just want to stay here and starve but when I woke the next day I heard something in the trees when I went outside, I saw the most beautiful thing in the world. I’ve seen it was a doe. All I wanted was to move but for some reason, I was still, she was moving across the meadow. She moved with beauty and elegance, she was so full of life she gave me hope to help me move on. “ How about some food now” I grumbled as I spotted prey. All I had was me I learned little how to hunt before my mother left. I had a few old rabbits and other small animals. Sometimes I had to fight for it from foxes and other loners. But some are too strong and I back off, sometimes I would just eat from old prey from other predators. All I need is food, shelter, and water. That is what I have to do is just survive and be happy that I live another day. When I woke the next morning there was a strange smell in the air. One I hadn’t smelled before, I know another one thought it was a Bear I knew that I would run into one sometime later. But then a scent of blood hit my nose, I panicked. So I rushed out of my den to see a loner backed against a tree with a huge scratch on his fur blood all over him. Right in front of him was a huge bear with a very strong scent. I didn’t think, I just charged in head-on. I jumped on the bear biting at its neck. It let out a huge yowl of pain and started to shake its body and run in a circle. It was hard it hold on but in a flash, the loner started to attack the bear. It yowled in pain and swiped I went to its back leg and bit hard. It howled once more then ran off. I turn to see if the loner was okay as I do I see the fear in his dull eyes. I run over to him as he collapses. I push him into my den and put him in my bed, I hurry to get some moss on his scratch with some plants my mother had told me that would help with the infection. All I know is to keep the wound clean. I grab some clean bark and put water in it and set some rabbit by it and wait. A few hours passed and he started stirring, I pricked my ears up “Hey, you are you okay?” I gently ask. He lifts his head and to look at me and I see fear. But I put it past me and I lay some food in front of him, he looked at me then I nodded and he started eating. He had winced in pain. I hurried over to him. I put the water in front of him. He looks worried so I sat down and ate some of the rabbits. When he finished drinking the water. I got up and walked up to him he shrinks back in defense but I just picked up the boul. I go outside and search for some more moss and twigs. When I get back he is asleep. I sigh with relief all I wanted was to be friends with someone. Finally, the day came. I wake up to whimpering and look at the loner was in pain so I looked for something to help I see the poppy plant. I take another piece of bark and crush up the seeds with some chewed up food and put it down. He sniffed the food and started to eat I watched him so he felt protected. I just did that for a few more weeks. Checked his wound for infection. It was hard to help Tallulah was hard to hunt for, get some herbs for, getting water, watching him so he is okay. I sigh he is almost done healing though. Maybe he can stay with me for a while. I shake my head “I don’t need to take care of someone right now, especially that male wolf.” I mumble to myself. I get back to the makeshift den. I look for any signs of danger. I go in and put the kill down. “ Hey, I back” I announce I here paw coming slowly towards me I see my sleepy companion walking towards me. “ Hey Laqueta, hows the hunt?” He asked with happiness “Great, do you feel better now,” I answer back to him He nods and stumbles over here and sniffs the rabbit. “I feel good thanks, It’s Pretty fresh,” he stated. “ Yep, first one of the season I’ve seen,” I exclaimed He rips a piece of it off and chews on it. I get some and chew on it too. I want to ask why he was so close to my den when I saw him. I never got the answer from him. He had always been quiet. Be he had been nice, Cooperate with the herbs. He ate whatever I gave him. He has been a real help with without being picky. I kinda like him around makes my life more fun. “Hey how about I start to hunt with you now,” he stated with a full mouth “Sure then you can start making the beds too,” I stated sarcastically rolling my eyes. “Don’t start it, you know as well as me that you know that I’m not that lazy.” he protested with a flick of his ear. I only sneered at him and went back to eating, once I got up and went to my bed.
