Chapter 5

Tasia It was a two-day trip for a four-day conference. Marcus filled Tasia in on everything she needed to be prepared for it. The werewolf council consisted of one elder from Each directional Territory. Each council member was a former Alpha of whichever pack was strongest at the time of their election. A council member election was held every 10 years. Every council member currently at the table has been in their seat for 30 or more years except one. The northern territory representative had been newly elected almost 10 years ago. Once a council member has been elected, the territories could continue to elect the same council member or vote for a new one. Some council members step down to retire, some stay on until they die whether it be of natural or unnatural causes. And werewolves tend to live for a very long time. "Do you think they are going to kick me out?" Tasia questioned as she stared out the passenger window watching trees fly by. It was dark again, they only had a few more hours left before they would stop for the night. Which only put them an hour away from their destination. Marcus thought it would be better if they showed up in the morning so they wouldn't have to spend more than one night there with everyone else. "I won't let them," Marcus said Casually making Tasia roll her eyes. "Come on, be serious with me. If the council members don't want me at a simple land meeting, then why would they want me at an all territories conference?" Tasia questioned again this time turning to study him. "It was the southern territory council members that didn't want you there," Marcus said. "The other territory council members don't even know about you," he said. Tasia scoffed at his comment. "And that's supposed to make it better?" Tasia questioned with an eyebrow raised. "It means fresh opinions. And trust me, once they see the progress you've made and hear about your story. The southern council will be outnumbered." He said confidently. "That's if they don't turn me away at the sight of me," she said. "As long as you stay clear from the other southern packs, you'll be fine. If you do that, then the others will mistake you as an abnormally strong Luna" Marcus said. Tasia paused as she listened to his words carefully. A little confused about what he meant by that. "Temporarily of course" he added quickly. "What did you mean by abnormally strong Luna?" She asked more sincerely this time. This question made Marcus turn to meet her gaze for a moment before focusing back on the road. He had a look on his face that made it seem like he didn't mean to phrase it that way. He let out a defeated sigh before he decided to finally speak. "It means that you undoubtedly have a powerful essence to you" he admitted. "One even more powerful than the toughest and most vicious warrior Lunas out there. And there are several" He said through a chuckle as if he spoke from experience. Tasia had to admit she was surprised hearing this come from Marcus. He always seemed to have looked down on her. It had to have been an alpha male kind of thing. She just didn't quite understand it. "Regardless of what you think, I've always admired and respected you. I'm just horrible at showing it. Especially to someone that I believe could give me a run for my own money" he said winking at her. Tasia chuckled and shook her head at him. "I doubt you truly believe that," she said going back to staring out the window. "Not completely," he said honestly. "But I do believe something is holding you back from getting there," he said. "Is this where you tell me the truth about your marriage proposal?" Tasia asked before she could stop herself. Marcus let out a snort as if he were trying to play it off as if it were a joke. But his face fell back to being serious again. Almost like he couldn't bring himself to hide what he was really thinking in front of her. "You still suspect my actions suspicious?" He asked softly. Tasia nodded her head slowly. She was beginning to feel bad for some reason now. " you're kind of right" he admitted. This confirmation made Tasia look at him again but he refused to meet her gaze. "To be honest, I did despise the thought of you at first. I thought you were a joke and out of your mind once you tried to announce yourself as Alpha" he said. Tasia winced a little bit at his words. She had gotten used to the playful and flirtatious side of him she had forgotten about the only side of him she previously had known. "I wanted to challenge you myself," he said "I.. intended to go as far as killing you to make an example" he admitted nervously. Tasia was surprised at herself for not being surprised at what he said. She had gotten a lot of death threats and challenges. Most of her challengers ended up dead whereas the others ended up in a draw. "What made you change your mind?" Tasia asked him in a soft tone making him relax again. He must have thought she would have been upset. "I watched your battles," he said. Now, this surprised Tasia. "I watched you tear apart dozens of warriors in your human form. And I've watched you cut down powerful Alphas in your wolf form. Strength like that wasn't given to you for no reason" he said. "Even though at the time I knew for a fact I could have overpowered you, I knew I would have been stupid to do that. So I convinced myself that instead of waiting for the day you got stronger than me. Why not get stronger with you by my side?" He said. Tasia was grinning from ear to ear trying to hold back a laugh she was desperately trying to hold in. Marcus looked at her with a raised eyebrow like she was crazy. "Something funny about my confession?" He questioned defensively. "You were scared of me!" She finally let out followed by her obnoxious laughter. She was laughing so hard her whole face was bright red and she was gasping for air. "I was not scared of you," Marcus said trying to keep a straight face. A smile broke out from watching her laugh so hard. "So instead of challenging me fairly, you waited till I got stronger. So you could convince me to marry you and fuse our packs and rule over the entire southern territory" she said finally calming down. Marcus hesitated on answering that one but nodded his head. "You know, it wasn't a terrible idea. It's a good, dirty tactic. I'm honestly just upset that you didn't invite me to dinner first" She said. It was Marcus's turn to let out a roaring laugh that shook the entire truck as they pulled into a parking lot of a massive luxury hotel. "Well you're in luck because this hotel's restaurant makes the best mouth-watering food you have ever tasted," Marcus said. Tasia let out a snort. "Did you forget that I'm Italian?" She asked as she opened her door to slide out of the truck and stretch freely. "You're right, my bad. Second best. My Yelp recommendations say you're the number one best place to eat at. Should we just go to the hotel room then?" Marcus said as he got out of the truck himself to walk over and stand in front of her to gaze at her figure as she shoved his chest playfully but hard enough to make him take a step back to steady himself. Marcus was making her act like a horny teenager and she hated it. He let out a laugh as he playfully wrapped his arm around her neck and pulled her to his side and led them inside to the restaurant. "Come on, let's eat and get some rest. Big day tomorrow" he said. The next morning, Tasia's eyes fluttered open to stare at the white ceiling. For a moment she had forgotten where she was until she sat up to look at her surroundings. There was a knock at her door. It was Marcus of course. Without a thought, she got up out of bed and staggered over to open up the door. She was met with a dark-eyed Marcus who was staring at her intently. She looked down at herself and realized she was wearing a tight cut-off baby blue tank top that ended right above the top of her rib cage that very much showed every detail there was to offer when a bra was not being worn underneath. She was also wearing boy shorts style all laced black underwear. "Alpha Tasia of Fiorere Moon, you really know how to test a man's inner wolf," he said taking a step closer to push her into the room to shut the door behind him. Tasia hadn't realized she did not take a step back to make room for him until her chest was pushed up against his. Their lips were barely an inch apart as they breathlessly stared at each other before she finally took a step back. "I'm going to go.." she started before she was interrupted by Marcus firmly grabbing her arm and pulling her back to him, easily lifting her swiftly to slam her up against the wall as his lips crashed against hers. Tasia's legs instantly wrapped around his waist to pull him in closer as she eagerly opened her mouth to allow his tongue to slip in and find her own. She moaned into his mouth as she felt his throbbing member bump into her down below causing Marcus to let out a soft groan. Tasias immediate arousal to feeling him pressed up against her filled the air as Marcus carried her over to the bed and dropped her down carefully. He watched her breasts bounce a few times in glory as she hit the mattress. Tasia's eyes were black with lust as Marcus reached down to grab the hem of her top and flick it up. Her breasts bounced free to fully reveal those other piercings Tasia had mentioned earlier. "You really did go through a rebellion phase," Marcus said through heavy panting as he couldn't tear his eyes away from her half-naked display. " Unfortunately my rebellion ended before my final piercing appointment," she said as her eyes peered down her own body and she opened up her legs teasingly. Marcus let out a growl as he reached for her underwear but was stopped in his tracks when his phone began to ring. Marcus let out a sigh as he backed away and reached into his pocket to pull out his phone. Tasia's mind slowly started to come back to reality as she realized what she was doing. She reached up to pull her shirt down and pushed herself off the bed, grabbing a towel that was nearby and a change of clothes. "I'm going to go shower" she whispered to Marcus who was talking on the phone to whom sounded like Vincent. He was asking where the both of them were and why they didn't show up the night before. Tasia went into the bathroom and locked the door behind her. She leaned up against it, replaying the events that just happened. She was thankful something had interrupted them. She couldn't help but feel guilty about having these kinds of feelings and urges for someone else besides her fated mate. She showered and dressed quickly knowing they needed to get to their destination soon. From what Marcus told her through the door that he surprisingly didn't attempt to enter, was that everyone was there except the council members and them of course. The conference was being hosted at an Eastern pack called Acacia Moon. Tasia has heard of this pack and read about their lifestyle in a magazine once. They don't tend to live with much modern technology as they prefer to live outdoors and feel free without the constriction of walls. Tasia heard that Acacia moon members are more in tune with their inner wolf because of this. Their inner wolves feel more at home and free. Tasia was excited to meet other packs from other territories. She had only heard stories of how different other packs were due to the different territories.
