Tasia "You mean you are actually inviting me to one of the biggest Alpha conferences there is?" Tasia questioned as she chewed on her pin while clutching the phone in her other hand to her ear. "You did agree to meet with me during the next Alpha meeting" Marcus said through the other end of the phone. She could tell he was smirking to himself through those words making Tasia roll her eyes. "Okay but this is different, this isn't a normal Alpha meeting with just the Southern Packs. This is a meeting with the full council and all of the biggest pack leaders from the North, East, South, and West" Tasia exclaimed. "Which is the perfect one for you to attend to anyway, your pack qualifies for you to be there and you know it, whether the council agrees or not. Not even they can stop you, it's in your right" Marcus said. Marcus had been in frequent contact with Tasia over the past few weeks. Of course she was supposed to have already given her answer to him but she hasn't. And he hasn't pressured her to neither which seemed odd from someone like Marcus. He went from treating her poorly to treating her as a friend. She still believed he was up to something but she had to admit it was nice having someone to confide in considering she was in a position she didn't really get training for. Not like a normal groomed Alpha would. She had also been in contact with Vincent from Lotus moon. They had officially formed an alliance together, her first pack Alliance since everyone else withdrew when she took over. Vincent's parents broke off their alliance when Louis took over knowing something was off about the whole situation. After talking on the phone for a while longer she finally hung up the phone and leaned back with a sigh. She was pretty nervous about this conference. She was hopping to go to one of the smaller meetings to be able to get a feel for something like this. At least she knew Marcus and Vincent would be going, not to sure about Zack since his Luna just gave birth to twin baby boys. He would most likely be sending his beta in his place to represent the pack. Apparently the event is being hosted somewhere in the eastern territory. The council chooses a pack to host these yearly meetings in a different territory each year. This year was the Eastern territory's to host, next year would be the South. Tasia lost focus on her thoughts as she began to dream about hosting an event like that here. Tasia is the only Female Alpha to rule a pack on her own without the presence of a Male. Sure Lunas have been known to look after packs for long periods of times until an Alpha was ready to take the place if a beta or gamma wasn't suitable to take on the role. But in this case Tasia fought to be where she is today managing a pack on her own, possessing the same strength and aura your typical male Alpha possesses was pretty un heard of for females. Her parents always told her she was something special. From the moment her presence was discovered inside her mother's belly, they always believed that moon goddess had special plans for Tasia. Everyone thought they were crazy. Even Tasia did. Until the day she discovered her true strength. The day she discovered who she was meant to be. But of course, no one believes it until they saw it. Most wolves including several Alphas Tasia has gone up against to prove her worth always laughed in her face until her inner wolf was revealed. She never understood what the big fuss was about but apparently it put some fear in to those who didn't end up dead. There was a knock at her office door, bringing Tasia back to reality as her beta Jackson popped in. "Good morning Alpha" He said with a warm smile. "Please Jackson, just call me Tasia" She said returning his smile. Jackson was the son of a couple that were once high ranked warriors that fought along side her father. They remained loyal to her parents even under the reign of Louis until they decided to speak up about the situation. Jacksons father had retained permanent damage to his body, limiting the amount of times he could shift so they were banned from the pack. When Tasia took over she brought them back and took in their son who pledged his loyalty to Tasia for saving his parents life and bringing them back home. His mother continued light duties as a warrior but only worked limited hours a day so she could care for her crippled mate. Jackson climbed through the beginning ranks of the different warrior classes and showed immense potential. He wasn't necessarily the strongest she had in the pack, But his heart and purpose is what makes Tasia have complete trust in him. After all there were still several pack members that weren't completely happy about her leadership. They simply tolerated her for the respect they had for her father. "Tasia" He corrected, now with a nervous smile. "I just wanted to thank you for the gifts you had sent for finding my mate Hannah" He said genuinely. Tasia nodded her head "well of course, but you really don't need to thank me. I'm just glad you two have found each other even though it cost Lotus Moon one of their top warriors" She said with a chuckle. "Guess that's what Alpha Vincent gets for bringing his single warriors along on road trips instead of mated ones" Jackson joked followed by a laugh of his own. "There was something I needed to run by you now that you are here" Tasia said as Jackson made himself comfortable in one of her chairs that sat on the other side of her desk. "I've been non formally invited to the annual territories alpha conference" She said now sounding more excited about it then nervous. Jackson smiled and clapped his hands for her. "Non formally is still an invite, so that's good" He said. Tasia nodded her head. "Unfortunately that means I will have to leave tonight if I plan on making it in time. It's being held in the East" She said. "Normally I would bring you along with me to something like this but because it's such short notice and I really don't want to take you away from Hannah for that long so soon, I intend to leave you in charge around here. Which is more ideal anyway" She finished. Jackson stayed quiet for awhile before nodding his head in agreement. "That's a bit nerve racking" He admitted. Tasia smiled at him "I know" She said "But think about it this way, you're the only one I trust around here, especially since I still haven't assigned a gamma yet." She said tiptoeing around that last bit. "Even though there are plenty of wolves who are capable of it, some even more capable of being beta" He said as he rolled his eyes. "I would have agreed with you months ago on that one, but in that little time you have grown at an incredible speed. Not to mention even more with finding your mate. She makes you stronger. Hey, maybe she's gamma material" Tasia teased earning a glare from him. "She may be but I will fight you over that" He said confidently making Tasia laugh. "See, there's that confidence" she said "Who will you take with you? it's such a long journey to go by yourself. Plus.. I think it would be better to have someone that's on your side with you" He said adding on the last part a little nervously. "You're right" Tasia admitted. "Alpha Vincent and Alpha Marcus will be there" She said. Jackson scrunched his nose at the mention of Marcus's name. He sensed it too. "Alpha Vincent sure" he said. He wanted to say more about Marcus but held his tongue. "I'll be alright, I will be back in a week." She said confidently. She really didn't want to inconvenience anyone with a short notice on a long trip. Sure they would do anything their Alpha asked, but she also felt like if anything went wrong she didn't want her pack to witness it or get involved. "Hey... who knows.. Maybe you'll bring home a Luna" He said with a teasing smile, this making Tasia laugh. "Right, meeting my fated mate at an Alpha meeting who could possibly be another Alpha and them just being okay with taking up the title Luna" She said through her laughs. "Or it could be a woman" He said in more of a serious tone. Tasia thought about this for a minute. "It's not that I'm against that kind of thing, but it's just unheard of for higher ranked wolves. Rare even for lower ranked wolves. I just don't see moon goddess pairing couples who can't reproduce. It's in our nature, it's what we are bred for. Especially the leaders" She said. "But it's not what we are meant for" Jackson said. Once Jackson finally left, Tasia made her way to her room that was just next door. She had continued to live on the the third floor of the building with the other warriors and Jackson. The fourth floor of the pack house was basically a penthouse for the Alpha and Luna. Tasia didn't feel comfortable taking over the place. Even Louis had refused to live on the fourth floor. It was of course where her father had passed away and her mother had taken her own life. Tasia couldn't even bring herself to touch the door knob so she declared the whole floor off limits to everyone. She sent Marcus a message saying she had just decided to drive herself there alone. Marcus had offered to carpool together but Tasia was looking forward to a little alone time. She began to pack her bag when she heard a knock at her bedroom door. Before she could put the scent to the person, Marcus's face appeared in the doorway as he took it upon himself to open it. She shook her head in disbelief trying to hold back a smile "You really do just love inviting yourself over don't you? she asked him as she leaned up to cross her arms in front of her. She had felt a bit embarrassed since she expected to be on her own and wasn't in company appropriate attire. Her long thick raven colored hair piled up on top of her head in a messy bun with a few strands poking out here and there. She was wearing a white tank top that sat right above her pierced belly button with a pair of ripped baby blue shorts that hugged her behind snugly and showed off her thick thighs. Her dark tanned olive skin was see through, through her white top and made herself realize she was not wearing a bra when she glanced at herself quickly in a nearby body mirror. Marcus's eyes drank her up like a glass of water as he stared her up and down. His wolf coming forward a little as his eyes flashed black. He shut the door behind him and made his way over to Tasia without saying anything at first until he had basically backed her up against a wall. "To be fair you never answered me until last minute so I came over to pick you up anyway" He said with his voice sounding a little hoarse as he inched closer to her, his body only inches away from her. She could feel his immense werewolf heat radiating off his body as his scent of sage and oak overwhelmed her nose. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't attracted to him in this moment. He wore a fit v neck ash grey shirt that announced his toned rippling muscles beneath the fabric. He had on dark brown Khaki shorts that stopped just above his knee with black fabricated sandals. Tasia didn't take Marcus to be a sandal kind of guy but here he was. In sandals. "A belly ring huh?" he questioned with a devious smile making her cheeks burn hot as she tried to avoid his lusty eye contact. "I had a rebellion phase after my parents died. I have a few more then that" She said. Why did she say that? was she trying to lead him on? Of course he enjoyed hearing that. Marcus reached out to brush his thumb over the small moon shaped jewel allowing him to "accidentally" rub against the skin of her belly, sending tingles down her spine that dared to light a fire in her down stairs furnace. Smelling her arousal he leaned in even closer making Tasia lock eyes with him as he waited for her to say yes or no. She couldn't bring herself to say anything until he was just a hair length away from her lips before she finally spoke "we should get going" she said nervously as she slipped away from him swiftly and picked up her bag. This was going to be a long drive.
