Chapter 14

Tasia Tasia's eyes fluttered open, the sun seeped in through the curtains and draped over her body. The warmth she was feeling wasn't coming from the sun. It was coming from the tight embrace she had been engulfed in underneath the blankets. Red curls spread out above the blanket and all over the pillow. Tasia reached over to lift the blanket to peer under it, revealing a sleeping Thalia. Her arms were wrapped around Tasia's waist with her head laying on her upper stomach right underneath her breasts. Tasia's shirt must have slid up at some point during the night, the skin-to-skin contact was emitting comforting sparks throughout her whole body. Tasia folded the blanket behind Thalia's head so she could see her better. The sun stream landed directly over Thalia's eyes causing her to scrunch up her face and bury herself into Tasia's stomach. Tasia laughed quietly as she brought her hand up to push her hair back out of her face. After staying up all night talking they must have passed out in each other's arms. Tasia had to admit she has never slept so well in her entire life, even if it was only for a few hours. Thalia's short breaths of irritation made Tasia's lips curl up at the sides. Seems like she's not quite ready to wake up just yet, from what it sounds like, this might have also been the best sleep she's ever had in a long time. Who knows how long she's had to go without sleep during their time on the run. As far as Tasia's concerned, she's done living on the road. Thalia's rightful place was by her side, whether she wants to take up the Luna duties or not, it's her decision. All that matters is if she decides to stay. Tasia couldn't help but think about what would happen if Thalia doesn't want to stay. What if she still wants Jasper? Thalia has seen people turn down their fated mates to stay with their chosen. Thalia and Jasper have history, a lot of it. What if?.. "Stop," Thalia said suddenly snapping Tasia out of her mind. She looked down to see Thalia had turned her head slightly to look up at her with one eye. It was still squinty as if she had just opened them. Without words Talia reached down to tuck her hair behind her ear, ending with her finger and her thumb massaging circles tenderly on the lobe of her ear. Thalia sighed while closing her eyes slowly for a moment before opening them to look at her again. "What?" Tasia questioned her. Thalia squinted her eye at her before she pushed herself up, swinging her leg over to straddle her waist. Thalia's ruffled locks fell over her shoulders, some of them sticking straight up at the top of her head from the static from the blanket, causing Tasia to chuckle at her as she admired this new position. She gazed over Thalia's body, noticing that she wasn't wearing the shorts she fell asleep in, only a pair of black panties and the baggy white T-shirt. Thalia followed her gaze and soon wrapped the blankets around her legs, just now realizing she wasn't wearing pants. "I ugh.. got hot last night.." Thalia said as her cheeks flushed red and looked away in embarrassment, seeming to forget why she climbed up there in the first place before she looked back down at Tasia with a frown. "I felt your heart rate skyrocket, I know what you were thinking about. And I need you to know that I have no intentions of rejecting you or leaving you" Thalia said confidently before her face softened. "I just, need you to know that I'm having a hard time processing everything. And I just.... I'm not used to all of this attention, all of these people, and I'm not sure I can get used to the idea of being a role model and leader for your pack. I'm just not that kind of person. And I'm most definitely not an event planner or whatever it is that Lunas do. The Only Thing I'm good at.. Is running away." Thalia said. "My little Rose" Tasia began as she leaned up so she could reach out to caress Thalia's face, staring into her big stunning green eyes. "It is our pack. And if you don't want to be in the limelight that's alright. I'll take care of the pack business and I'll even hire event planners. But just know, they are going to look up to you no matter what. You are going to be their Luna, you have so much untapped potential, I can feel it" Tasia said as she grabbed Thalia's hand gently to place it over her own heart. "She can feel it," Tasia said. Her heart broke listening to the way her mate talked. She could hear the years of pain and trauma in just the sound of her hypnotizing voice. Tasia found herself pressing her forehead against Thalia's, now aware of the tears that were streaming down her face. Tasia's wolf was whining at seeing their mate in this state. She could feel Thalia's wolf reaching out too. Tasia brought her other hand up to wipe away her tears. "What's wrong my love?" Tasia cooed. Thalia The moment Those three words left Tasia's mouth, Thalia found herself wanting to break. She hadn't heard those words in years, and yet here she is hearing them from someone she barely knows but without a doubt wants to never leave her side. A sense of relief washed over her body as she was pulled forward to rest her head against Tasia's. Her wolf was reaching out to Thalia. She could feel it, so could her wolf who was desperate to respond. Guilt began to seep into Thalia's heart realizing how cruel she had been to her wolf. Pushing her away for years, refusing to listen to her except for when she needed to shift. Even then there were times she wasn't able to. Rendering her to only her strength in her human form. She was perfectly okay with denying her wolf the happiness she longed for since she became of age. Forcing her to settle for what she believed was all they were ever going to get. After everything, her wolf was willing to forgive her. Thalia didn't deserve it. She made eye contact with Tasia as she wiped away her tears, their lips inches apart, the longing to feel close with her mate was pushing her to lean in and smash their lips together until there was a knock at the door. Thalia felt annoyed as she could already tell who it was. "Look, I hate to break it up but you are already late. We need to get out to the training grounds. This is the part of the conference that matters. It's time for the tournaments." Marcus said before he left. Thalia looked at Tasia with a raised eyebrow. "Every year I guess they hold a fighting tournament. It's completely safe and for fun. It's just a big d**k-measuring contest" Thalia said as she shrugged her shoulder. "Marcus thinks I should enter, it will gain me more respect from the other Alphas and will also be a good time to talk to the other packs. Trevor has already demanded that you be detained under his jurisdiction. But I'm not going to let that happen. Today I would like for you to not go off on your own. Please stick with someone today. I don't trust him." Tasia said. Thalia rolled her eyes, She didn't like the idea of being told what to do, but she did agree with her on one thing. Alpha Trevor can't be trusted. So it was probably for the best she stayed with someone. "When can we go find Jasper?" Thalia found herself blurting out loud. She could feel Tasia's mood turn cold. Maybe it wasn't the right time to say anything. She expected Tasia to lash out at her and tell her she's not allowed to go searching for him, and that she belongs to her, typical hot-headed possessive Alpha. "I had Alpha Ryan put out some feelers for around the area to see if he's been spotted anywhere. We haven't heard anything yet. Ryan said they tried to trace his scent but it just completely vanished after the hotel you guys were staying in." Tasia said as she laid back down and let her hands rest on Thalia's hips. Not the reaction she thought she'd get. Thalia could tell she didn't like the mention of Jasper, but she was still willing to help her. The last part had Thalia reaching up to her neck, placing her palm flat against her chest where the necklace she wore from Lauren used to rest. "He stole the necklace that cloaked our scents," Thalia said. She felt hurt that he would do something like that, she could have died if her wolf didn't break through her mental blockade to warn her. She shook her head to try and not think about that at the moment. If Marcus was right about this tournament being the moment for Tasia to prove herself, then they needed to get going. Thalia went to go climb off of Tasia until Tasia grabbed her wrist to pull her back gently. "I'm not like other Alpha's When it comes to the bond. I feel it, and it makes me want to act ridiculously possessive and lock you in a room with someone I trust so that nothing ever happens to you. But if I'm being honest, I don't trust anyone besides you" She said. Thalia stared at her in shock. She wasn't expecting her to confess something like that. She felt like maybe she should be concerned, but her wolf reassured her that she was speaking the truth. "We barely know each other" Thalia said honestly. Tasia nodded her head. "Which is what scares me. I might still have these thoughts that you may still want him in your life. But something inside me just keeps reminding me that at the end of the day, you're coming home to me" Tasia said. Thalia wasn't completely sure what caused her to immediately let herself fall into her embrace to smash her lips against Tasia's, but she knew she had no control over her actions at this point. She needed more, she wanted more. One of Tasia's hands traveled up to cup the back of Thalia's neck so she could deepen the kiss, Slipping her tongue in to find Thalia's to explore her mouth. She tasted so good, like sweet raw honey. Her breath was hot, and her tongue was urgent. Tasia's other hand began to travel up Thalia's side underneath her shirt. Her fingers delicately grazed up her skin, sending shivers down her spine, igniting a very hot flame between her legs. It was evident Tasia could smell her arousal from the soft growl that left her chest. Thalia began to roll her body into Tasia's, her hand sliding up to cup her bare breast and run her thumb over her painfully hard n****e causing Thalia to let out a moan. Tasia swiftly slipped out from underneath Thalia to flip her over onto her back, Her shirt sliding up as Tasia moved her attention to Thalia's neck. Planting a trail of kisses down her jawline to where her collar bone sat. Thalia felt teeth graze across her skin until the moment was ruined by the sound of Tasia's phone going off. Tasia let out a groan as she let her body weight fall on top of Thalia. Thalia didn't want to leave, she wanted to stay in the spot forever, this feeling of warmth and passion was nothing like she's ever experienced before. Thalia wrapped her arms around Tasia's body to hold her in tight. "I know Little Rose, I don't want to go neither. But we have to. Plus, My wolf is anxious for you to see her in all her glory" Tasia said with a chuckle as she planted a soft kiss on her nose. Thalia chuckled and rolled her eyes. "She sounds like she's confident," Thalia said in an implying tone. "Let's say she might have a big head on her shoulders," Tasia said again before she leaned down to place one last kiss upon her lips. They both forced themselves out of bed while Tasia answered her phone. It sounded like that guy Vincent that was watching over her in the infirmary yesterday. Thalia liked him, he seemed like a good friend for Tasia. Thalia looked down at the ground where her shorts from yesterday lay. She didn't have any clothes, all of her stuff was still at the hotel. She sighed as she picked them up and went to go slip them on before she heard Tasia clearing her throat at her, trying to get her attention. Thalia looked up to see her pointing towards a bag on the floor while she still talked on the phone as she went through the bag herself. Thalia watched her bend over to dig through the bag, catching sight of her ass. Tasia tossed her over some clothes as she grabbed some for herself, noticing Thalia checking her out she mouthed to her "Later, Little Rose" She said followed by a seductive wink and a wicked grin that made Thalia aware she was desperate to finish what they started. She took the clothes and headed towards the bathroom, She looked over her shoulder to look back at Tasia who was staring at her with darkened eyes, her finger tugged, and played with the string of her thong that sat above her pant line. She could hear Vincent trying to get Tasia's attention, catching on that she hasn't been listening to a word that he said. Thalia chuckled to herself and closed the bathroom door.
