Chapter 4

738 Words
Alex woke up faced down on his pillow. He had another nightmare about his mom but he was beginning to get used to waking up screaming however he hadn't screamed this time. But he was a little distraught. And it kept on coming. He was lying in a pool of his own vomit, there were broken glasses and empty champagne bottles all over the floor, his head hurt like some of the broken glasses on the floor had been smashed on it and everything that happened since the crowd screaming was a blur. He rolled over to his side and noticed his phone blowing up with texts. He unlocked it and saw the thousands of pictures he had taken last night. He had his shirt off in most of them and funny enough he didn't have it on now. In almost every pic he was holding a drink, which explained the vomit and the empty bottles. He scrolled down hoping one of the pictures would explain why the glasses were broken and what had really happened when one pic caught his eye. It was a blurred picture of him with his shirt on and no drink but with a girl. He was holding her close. Very close. his arms were around her and it looked like she was smiling but he needed a clearer picture to be sure. He scrolled again, the rest of the pictures were of her and he didn't appear drunk in them but they were still blurry. He kept on scrolling and came across a not so blurry picture. In fact it was clear, clear as day. He had a better view of her now. She was beautiful, she had raven coloured hair, ocean eyes and snow white skin. She was laughing and smiling like she was having a good time. It was progress, but it didn't give him much to go on. For one he still couldn't remember anything and he had no idea who she was and even if he did he had no idea how to find her. From the pictures she hadn't been drinking which meant she probably knew what happened at the party so he had to try. His head was still hurting and his back was even worse. He got up slowly to meet a half asleep half drunk Jace lying on the floor. He looked more clueless than he did, which meant he knew even less. But his phone could have some information. He walked over to Jace, Who appeared to be awake but was somehow talking in his sleep and picked up his phone. There was a video. "Finally" he sighed glad things were going his way for once. He hit play. The video was loading just about to play when the battery died. "s**t" he didn't sound surprised. Who would be. With the kind of day he was having, you didn't need to be a genius to know it could only get worse from here. His clothes were all over the place. He picked up a black shirt and red jacket with a pair of pants from the rubble and used his hands to stroke his hair. He walked out of what looked like his dorm room into a hallway. He thought of where to go before it hit him. The auditorium. There might be a clue there or better yet he could just ask whoever was there what happened. He started walking towards the auditorium. He met a bunch of people on the way and each of them would go: "Great party last night Alex" He'd say thanks but when he asked if they knew what happened they responded with their own version of the night and as you guessed it their own version had nothing to do with him. It was about how that cute girl they had no chance with drunk texted that they loved them or how this hot guy offered to buy them a drink and woke up in their bed this morning or how they still couldn't believe they were invited to a party that sick. All amazing breakthroughs for them yes, but none of those stories included him. .... After an earful of meaningless stories, he finally made it to the auditorium. He opened the large door and his phone dropped out of His hand in shock. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. "Holy s**t" he exclaimed.
