Chapter 10

ENISA POV

"I can't believe I was doing this, it was a bad idea from the start but he left me no choice. I would blame this all on Silverstone orthodox convention, actually on the day the mates are to bond, the bride in question is not to lay an eye on the Alpha till the moon was out, they would bond under the shining moonlight before the Alpha gives his Luna his teeth mark. After this he unveils her and makes her his mate.

I was surprised, no one had noticed I wasn't Iris. Wearing a flowing red gown with a heavy golden necklace I was being led the way to where Alpha Zaden stood in the garden under the moonlight. Some maids were holding my gown from behind, while the others rolled down a carpet all the way to where Prince Zaden stood outside in the garden. There was a throng of guest outside waiting for the bride to come outside. No one could see through the red veil I was wearing, I was the only one seeing through it because I was wearing it.

Before I got to where Prince Zaden stood with his hand in his pocket, looking like a perfect gentle man. Vedica came to me with all smiles, "I can't believe my Iris is going to be gone so soon" she said and was about to take my hand in hers when father stopped her. "Keep your tears for later Vedica, you are delaying the wedding" he said looking at me in a scheming way. It was all his idea in the first place, if Vedica finds out I am not Iris, he should be answerable to her questions. I continue walking on the red carpet, there were maids and body guards by each side of the red carpet, total checked security.

I was a little bit scared to death as I stood in front of Prince Zaden, his brown coloured eyes were so captivating. Iris would definitely hate me for this, it was all Olivia's idea to begin with.

I stood quivering as my heart was racing, who was at the door? I asked myself as I slowly walked to the door and slowly turned the knob open. I was aghast to meet the piercing gaze of father with a maid by his side , the maid name was Olivia.

" You, what are you doing here?, Father asked giving me a disposables look and a lump went down my throat. "Enisa you are finished! I told myself as I watched father walked into the room with Olivia who was holding a tray of different colours of veils.

" Iris...dear" father called out and suddenly became silent I shut my eyes in anguish as I let go of the door knob, which I have been holding and turned to looked at father staring at Iris who had passed out on the floor, the dumbstruck look father had on his face only accelerated my fear. "Iris ! he called out tapping her lightly, but not a word did he get in return.

Turning to me, "Enisa what did you do to Iris?, He said lurching forward. 'No..no.. nothing, I didn't do a thing I only tried to get her to loose her grip on my hand, by biting her and she.....he didn't let me finish. ,"You did what? He yelled and my lips became completely sealed. "What are we going to tell prince Zaden, and the royal family of Silverstone pack?" He said and Olivia propelled forward.

"Should I go and get the pack nurse? she asked and I became alert. Iris was slightly bruised on her head, it was no big deal, right? "We don't need the pack nurse", I said trying to make her abort that plan. "But why, she ostensibly needs it" Olivia said and I was getting pissed off by her incessant pestering.

" W..we...well if you inform the pack nurse everyone in the pack will come to know that Iris is unconscious that could lead to an uproar and if everyone knows then Prince Zaden will come to know." I said quite surprised at my extempore words.

All this time father stood watching us debate on the matter and just then, "Enough ! I heard father say, his voice booming across the room and pulling me to where he stood, looking me straight in the eye. Enisa you have to fix this mess, you had better think of something....or else..." He said and I was trembling in his grip.

"If you will my Lord, I can suggest an idea that will save us all from humiliation," Olivia said trembling in fear, it was so brave of her to propose to speak when father was in a abysmal mood. Now letting go of me, father shifted his gaze to her, "state your mind" he said and Olivia sucked in a heavy breath "Enisa can take the place of Princess Iris", she said and for some seconds I wanted all this to be a dream, a nightmare I can just wake up from and still live my life typically. I was bewildered, I wished I had stopped her from saying that. "What ! Olivia do you know what you are saying? I can't do such a thing", I said suddenly jerking out of my deep thoughts obviously angry."

"Oh yes you can, and you will Enisa", father said and I was dumbfounded, how many more surprises does he has installed for me?

"What do you mean by that father?" I said fuming I wasn't ready for such a huge change, I knew the repercussion of what father was about to make me do, if I get married to Prince Zaden I loose the right to succeed him as queen Luna, as says the law of Moonstone pack. "I am not getting married father, and that is final", I said.

"Since when did you have the impudence to speak to me like that Enisa?" he said and I narrowed my eyes to where he stood." Since the time I realized my worth, you can't make me your paupet anymore father it's not going to work," I said feeling annoyed, I have longed for this moment, the day I can finally say no to his face".

"You should be grateful for all what I have done for you Enisa, the least you can do is to return the favour by getting married to Prince Zaden to Save our family's honour." He said and right that instant I regretted being his daughter, everything about him shined nothing but disgust.

"I have nothing to be grateful for father, you have treated me like nothing but a slave all my life and now you want to snatch away the one thing that I live for?, the one thing I have looked forward to all my life." I said already getting emotional.

"What are you talking about Enisa? He said looking appalled. "Don't act like you don't know what I am talking about father, I am next in line to succeed your throne, you know very well if I get married I bestow my right to Iris, well guess what? Your tricky games won't work on me this time." I said clenching my teeth in fury. I watched as the contenance on his face was slowly replaced with an astonished look."

"Is this what all this is about? He said in a voice filled with scorn," I am quite surprised at your naivety Enisa, what makes you think you will ever inherit my throne as queen Luna? He said raising his voice as he he uttered each words.

"I have spent my life working as a maid in my own home, the least I deserve is what is rightfully mine," I said not knowing where the courageous spirit was coming from, but it was now or never"

"Well guess what ? He said coming closer and I took some steps backward. "You lost those right years ago, when your mother was found dead in her room, you lost those right when you couldn't be like other Luna out there and have a wolf. You will never succeed me and inherit my throne Enisa not now, not ever and the sooner you realize this, the better" he concluded and I felt hot tears trickle down my face, so this was what I got?

"Now listen to me Enisa, you are going to do as I say and get married to Prince Zaden" he said in a threatening manner. "And what if I don't? I asked contending with him.

"Then I will disown you Enisa" he said and I was shocked by his utterance. For a while the whole place was filled with tranquility, I couldn't bring myself to say anything. Was he capable of doing such a thing?.......of course he was, but would he really do it? All he has ever cared about was his reputation and fame, now he was ready to trade me for all that at the expense of he still remaining my father.

"Don't you try and threaten me father," I said trying to summon courage, this can't be happening. He scoffed, "Think again."

Being disowned meant being banished, I will never be able to..... come near Moonstone pack again...for eternity. "Make up your mind Enisa, we are running out of time" he said intruding my thoughts. "What will it be, your selfish desires or".....he didn't finish his statement and a sly grin broke across his lips.

It then dawned on me that I couldn't take him on by myself, what were the chances I could even relinquish him? He had this burning desire to get rid of me and now was the perfect timing, he was bent on getting me out of his life. Here I was thinking there was a bit of humanity in this man, but damn I was wrong.

I sucked in my breath steadily and exhaled sharply. "Fine" I said giving in, and he smiled triumphantly.

"But this is not the last of me father, I will be back, and you won't even see it coming", I said throbbing with anger. "Should I take that as a threat?" he said arching his brows, "Take it as a warning", I said and he strolled out of the room, leaving me to get dressed, Olivia stayed back to help me out, she had been standing by a corner all this time.

The thought of loosing my right in a few hours debilitated me, I hit my fist against the dressing table, my eyes raging with deep hatred.

"I will be back father, I promise you.

.................. PRESENT

"So I am really doing this? I asked myself as I felt the bond between me and Prince Zaden grew as we stood under the blazing moon. Just then he brought his mouth to my neck, raising the veil slightly he still couldn't see my face. I felt my blood get drained as he sucked his teeth into my neck, giving me a deep mark.

I gazed at him as he retreated and I saw his eyes glow, the bond has been formed. I felt a sharp pain on my neck as i traced my hand up to the place he bit me and I could feel the mark. Just then I could hear the voice of someone wailing, and immediately I heard someone scream...

"Stop this wedding", the voice, I was struck with fear as my heart froze, I turned to see who it was and behold standing there with her face full of contempt and fury was Iris. Clenching her teeth..
