The thought of Sera turning him down was rumbling in his mind. What if Sera doesn't feel anything for him later on? Is he going to be stuck with Isabelle for life? Should he keep persuading her? He kept questioning himself as he quietly opened the door to his suite. He didn't want to disturb Isabelle's sleep. She had fallen asleep on the couch after she endlessly waited for him. He sat on the edge of the bed, Sera's voice still echoing in his mind. He moved to the balcony, and paced around. He could still hear her voice, firm yet gentle, as she politely turned him down. He quietly went to the bathroom to shower, and he went to bed with Sera on his mind. “Where were you last night?” Isabelle questioned, his eyes barely open. He used his hands to rub his eyes gently. It was our wedding night, Aiden!, and the worst you could do was leave me alone. We were supposed to spend our wedding night togethe,” she fumed in anger. He smiled, and said, “It was business.” He got out of bed and went to the bathroom because he was supposed to be at Levi Vance’s office for the deal signing. Aiden slowly raised his head and stared at her in disbelief. Was this the Isabelle he had gone on a date with a few days ago? That was all over him. He knew this supposed marriage was going to be a crazy thing. He paid no attention to Isabelle’s rambling. He put on his clothes and went out of the room, his assistant was waiting at the reception. “Good morning sir, Brittany said cheerfully.” “It’s a good day,” Aiden chuckled as he got into his fancy Rolls-Royce Phantom. The car shone deep black, reflecting like a mirror, he slid into the passenger seat, Brittany sat next to the driver, fixed the seat belt and the driver pulled away. They got to Mr Vance's office in no time, “Aiden, I've been expecting you” Levi said with a giggle. “Mr. Vance, I sincerely apologize for keeping you waiting’’ he apologized. Aiden sat down facing him and they went straight to business. He was happy the instant Mr. Vance signed the project and handed it to him, “Congratulations Mr. Neil,” Mr. Vance said, as they both shook hands, he brought out wine for them to celebrate, and they both drank and laughed. Sera had not been herself since the previous night, she liked him but couldn't tell, she had no idea he also liked her, she was short of words that night. That was why she left, she was timid and felt less of herself. She didn’t know what to do, so she called her best friend on the phone and told her everything. “Wait, what?, the wealthy handsome Aiden asked you out,” Ariel screamed at the top of her voice. “Calm down Ari, yes he did,” she replied in a lower voice. “We barely know each other, we just met last week Ari, I was so timid and speechless that I had to turn him down,” she added as she left the room to the kitchen. “Sera, you did what!?” she screamed angrily again, louder than before, Sera held the phone to her ear with her shoulder, as she made some cereals for herself. “Girl I was startled, I couldn't look him in the eyes, " she replied. She knew if Ariel was with her she was going to pounce on her. “Hey, Bi*€h, pick up your f*****g phone and call him now. She yelled over the phone. “Meet me at the pizza shop in the next 30 minutes,” she added. Sera smiled and said ok, Sera and Ariel have been best friends since they were kids, and their bond grows stronger every single day. Ariel is average height, with ebony skin that glows in the sun, she has curly hair that compliments her warm brown eyes and pointed nose. Everything about her gives an aura of mischief. She’s the opposite of Sera's calmness. They love each other so much and don’t joke with each other. She ended the call and was thinking if she should call Aiden or not, but she could not bring herself to do so. What if he did not pick up, what if he rejected me angrily? She thought, “No I can’t” she cried out loudly. As she was talking to herself alone in the room, she hit her head slightly. “I should have said yes to him last night, I shouldn’t have turned him down, oh, Sera, what’s wrong with you, you liked him, you shouldn’t have done that, Sera. She was picking clothes from her wardrobe when her phone rang. It was Aiden. She stood still and stared at the screen for some seconds and picked up the call that she was mute. “Hi Sera, it’s Aiden,” he uttered with a smile. He thought she wasn’t going to answer the phone. “Hey, Aiden,” she stuttered, her voice so low. “I’m sorry about last night Sera,” he sincerely said. Sera felt bad about how she acted that evening, and she also apologized. After they spoke for a while, he suggested they meet at a restaurant and she gladly accepted. She got dressed and went to meet Ariel at the pizza shop. They hugged each other and sat down. “Have you given him a call?” Ariel asked hastily, “Calm down a$$hole,” Sera laughed. He called me, she said with so much smile, her smile was contagious. Ariel laughed so loudly like she had won the lottery. She clapped “Yes baby girl, that’s it!”. When she informed Ariel that he had asked her to meet up at a restaurant. She got up giggling and told her they should go to Sera’s house to choose an outfit and assist her with the makeup beforehand. Sera refused to do makeup or dress too much, but Ariel disagreed with Sera's refusal to wear makeup or dress excessively. They argued on their way home. They arrived at Sera’s house, they noticed a big delivery box with a bouquet of fresh roses at the door. She gazed at it from a distance while they exchanged sly glances. “ who sent this? As they approached it, she remarked. she moved close to it but didn’t see her name on it, “I think there is a mix up somewhere.” She added looking around like she was going to see who dropped it. Ariel picked it up and was ready to check what it contained. “ Never mind girl, let’s find out what it contains.” She answered. Ariel unboxed it and saw a note inside and a beautiful red dress with red heels. She picked up the letter and read it aloud, smiling like a sunflower. I’ll pick you up by 8 p.m, can't wait to see you in that gorgeous dress. Immediately she knew it was Aiden and she smiled shyly. She tried it on, she moved to where her mirror was placed and to say that she looked beautiful was an understatement. The red dress was a perfect fit, her curves outlined so well and the dress flowed beautifully, she couldn’t get over her look in the dress. She grabbed her phone and called Aiden. The sound of her voice alone could satisfy his hunger. He was grinning so broadly that he didn’t notice Isabelle entering his office. “My driver will come to pick you up at 8 p.m...." he said, hanging up the phone. “How long have you been standing there ?” He asked surprisingly, ignoring Isabelle's furious look. He wasn’t expecting her in his office. “I went to Dad’s office, so I decided to stop by and say hi,” she replied still uncertain of who he was speaking to on the phone.
