Renee was in her room when her door was opened.
She looked around and saw Solange come in with her maids.
Her face fell immediately.
“Renee darling!” Solange said with her arms widespread for a hug.
She engulfed Renee in a tight hug and Renee scowled, but accepted the hug.
“The prodigal daughter is back.” Solange said already making statements with hidden meanings. “We missed you. How is my favorite step daughter?”
“Your only step daughter.” Renee pointed out to her step mother.
Solange waved her hand off. “Still still. How are you? How was London?”
Renee sighed. “London was alright. I am fine and I am back home. I missed France.”
Solange looked like she did not believe a word of what Renee had just said.
