Marie scrubbed the floors with all her strength. She looked at the stubborn spot that refused to go away and angrily scrubbed at it. She removed the brush in hopes that the spot had disappeared. Alas! She was wrong! It was still there and as prominent as ever. She had been scrubbing it for over an hour. Heavens knew what exactly the stain was, but it had been there for a long time and it did not seem interested in leaving its abode.
"That spot is not going to come out anytime soon." She heard a feminine voice say behind her.
Marie looked up and saw that it was one of the maids, Reese who had introduced herself on her first arrival in the house, with another maid she had not seen before. "It is most tiring. I have been at it for possibly over an hour."
