Cassandra’s Pov:
My eyes snap open, and I sit up with a gasp, looking around frantically.
“You are awake!” Jasper says, and a body slams into mine, almost choking me in a tight hug.
I wait for the huge waves to crash against me and take me in forever, but the waves don’t come, and I can actually breathe. My lungs aren’t burning anymore with the lack of oxygen.
My hands tremble as I realise that I am not in water and am safe. I hug her back gently,feeling myself having cold sweats.
“Oh god, I thought I lost you there! Who even goes into the water completely drunk, you god-damned i***t?” She says sobbing, and I sniff slightly, for the first time feeling happy that I am alive.
