I held my breath, waiting with bated breath for what would happen next. Had I gotten in wrong? Was my Shane really here? Perhaps seeing my face had brought Shane out of whatever stupor he had been in. But nothing was ever that simple, was it? Shane grabbed a fistful of my shirt and yanked me upwards without mercy. My head spun and before I could register what was happening, Shane's fist flew into my stomach, sending me sprawling on the floor once again. The breath was forced out of my body with impressive force and I struggled to gasp some oxygen back into my body. I coughed up some blood and suddenly, it didn't matter that I loved Shane, it didn't matter that I didn't want to hurt him, I wanted to fight.
