A new beginning that never ends
It was a dark and gloomy night while I was travelling back to the old farm house that was left to me in my father’s will.
I didn’t know my family all to well, and I didn’t understand why I have inherited anything from these strangers I call family.
The road drags on as the night grows thicker and longer, struggling to see the direction ahead.
The road turns to track and the car rumbles to a holt, “this must be it” I say softly.
I grab my flashlight and nervously step out of the vehicle, walking up towards the veranda as the trees slowly dance in the bitter wind.
Infront of me stood an old cooked door clinging for dear life to the frame, I look around with an uneasy feeling that I am not welcome here.
The door creaks as I passively push it open with my frost bitten finger tips..
I darted my eyes around this cold and damp empty room as I shuddered from the breeze that greeted me as I entered the kitchen, as cold as ice I stumble up the stairs to find the master bedroom to settle in for the lengthy night ahead.
I had a feeling that I was not alone, that a lost soul had joined me or I was intruding into someone’s home.
Unbearable feeling that I should not be here..
I tried to calm my nerves as my body rattled in the spot,
Wondering what tomorrow brings, I lay my head and start to dream, wondering about my new beginning.
