Nineteen The next time April opened her eyes, the sky was darkening into twilight. She blinked and looked at the sky again to see small stars starting to twinkle above her. She smiled. Her back hurt from where she was laying and yet she had never felt better. She turned her head to the left and saw Joshua laying there on his side, watching her. She rolled over so she was facing him. “How long have you been awake?” she asked quietly. Joshua smiled. “A few minutes only. I was considering waking you when your eyelids fluttered.” April playfully swatted his shoulder and Joshua grinned. “So, you are the first guest to sleep in my home.” April laughed. “I feel very honored.
