Twenty
Sunday came and went quickly for all the residents of Appleton Inn. Everyone went to church services at a small Baptist Church in Tanis Lee riding in two vehicles rather than all in one. Sally had asked April if she would go so she – Sally – could ride with her. Joshua drove Sally’s car with Holly and Thomas. Thomas grumbled, as usual, about having to get ‘spiffed up’ as he called it, but he did it anyway. Joshua wore a dark blue suit coat over a white shirt and his best jeans. April could barely keep her eyes off him. She wore a soft blue casual dress that fell just to her knees. It had short sleeves and a rounded neckline, perfect for church. They met up at the parking lot of the church before heading in.
