10 Lukas tossed upon the thin pallet, so disturbed by the dream, it moved him even in sleep. It filled him with such joy and painful longing to see he stood within the lush, rolling fields of his home, beyond the Agricultural Sector where the land was open and tended only for the sake of the animals that grazed there and for people to walk under the clean, brilliant sky. The darkness of night brushed across his home as well, but in place of the gently luminescent ceiling panels under which he’d spent his entire life, the sky was open, pitch-black, and studded with stars. The round globe of the true moon, though Lukas still had not yet seen it with his own eyes, filled this dark sky above him, casting an otherworldly glow upon the hills within the underground caverns.
