“When I was young, my dad was military,” he said and he had a look of love and adoration as he spoke. “He had learned how to control his animal around the humans using a tonic. He’d drink it during the day and then shift at night. It actually helped a lot during battles and stuff. He earned a lot of medals for saving his men countless times because he was either able to detect the enemy faster or was able to shift and kill the threat.
So when I was old enough to enlist, he taught me how to do it too. I was in the military for almost five or six years when the reveal happened. My dad was retired by then and had moved to Florida with my mom. She ended up passing away just before the reveal and dad passed
