“Hey Jack,” called Arthur when I arrived at the shop. “How’s my favorite girl?”
It’s been about three days since Nova ended the nightmare for Arthur and he’s done a complete 180. He’s shown up early and stayed late. He’s been sober the whole time and thankfully has bathed recently.
“She’s good,” I chuckled. “You know she’s my mate and married to me right?”
“Yeah you Cali cats get all the luck,” he sighed. “You tell my girl if she needs anything let me know.”
“How bout manning the shop for a week so I can take my honeymoon with Nova?” I said. “I know she’d totally appreciate that.”
