Lily I felt a million times lighter wearing comfortable clothes that fit and seeing Nova at the store was enough to keep the smile on my face the whole walk home and this whole weekend. I even volunteered to cook tonight for Jeff since he seemed preoccupied. “I got to make a call, Lily,” Jeff said nervously. “No problem,” I said and turned back to the meat I was preparing. It’s been a long time since I cooked a meal. Usually Adam and I would eat as our tiger or we’d make camp and cook over a fire. I quickly reread the recipe again. I was making meatloaf which was one of the few things I had made while married to James, but he loved cooking so I rarely made it. “Need help?” a deep voice called out, making me jump and nearly nicking my hand with the knife.
