chapter 2: Mia's pov

1473 Words
I got home not having my usual energy. “Mia, is anything the matter?” my mom asked. “No, I'm good.” I kept a straight face. Then tears filled my eyes. “Mia… baby… come here, what is wrong? Talk to me” My mom held me in a way I felt protected. “You won't let me do what I love.” I said. “But honey I thought we spoke about this already.” “Mom, if I become a professional contemporary dancer, I will be opportuned to meet top dancers, the president, have so many awards and travel around the world. There are a lot of opportunities in dance. Please…” For a while she said nothing. “Fine… but promise you will be careful enough and not break your legs although I'm not fully in support of this.” “I promise mom,” I felt satisfied. In the evening, I called my junior with my phone and had a proper conversation with her concerning the training. Night fell, I had dinner this time around and slept like a fulfilled soul. It was 3:20pm and I had arranged everything I needed for the dance class. At exactly 4:00pm we were at the studio ready for rehearsal to start. I looked around but didn't see any man to teach us. Everyone started doing their dance moves. They all did different things, then a pretty girl with dark straight hair, wearing a perfect leotard and short that brought her ass out, walked up to me with her crew. “It's obvious you are new here, newbie.” She carried herself like she was the number 1 in the studio. I can't deny the fact that she is pretty. “Uhh mm… hi… I'm….” Just when I was about to introduce myself, she cut me off. “Mia.” She said my name so sharply. Huhhh, how did she know my name??? “I don't accept this outfit here, don't put it on next time.” She said looking directly into my eyes like we were at war, then she turned to a very short girl. “Clara, teach her the first move.” She walked away. Clara was so irritated by her voice but she didn't let it show. I was going to do something crazy but I couldn't. Olivia isn't even here with me. “Hi… I'm Clara. Don't mind Scarlett, she can be that way. She is the self appointed team captain, let it slide.” “Scarlett. That's her name,” I murmured. I began practicing the very first move a beginner should learn. I tried it over and over again but kept failing. But Scarlett was so good doing stunts and crazy dance moves. I got carried away by her dance steps that I almost forgot I had a lot to learn before getting there. We had been there for 2 hours. “Is he not coming?” I whispered to myself scanning the environment like a military personnel. Just when we were done and taking the equipment to their normal spot, they began to whisper. “He's the one.” A girl said. “He's not the one.” Another objected. “Are you serious? After a long time.” Scarlett said adjusting her dress so her boobs would show perfectly well. I didn't even pay attention to what they were saying because I was obviously thinking if I made the right decision in joining this dance crew. I can't even get the least movement, how do I go for the bigger ones? “Coach!!!” Clara exclaimed. “Coach!!!” Every other person echoed and ran to him. I was like a dummy, trying to analyze what was going on while tying my shoe lace. Immediately I raised my head, I saw a 6.5ft dark man, with broad shoulders, charming eyes, and small lips, putting on a shirt that hugged his body perfectly well, looking like someone no one dared to toil with. “Wha… what?” I froze. Now I understand why my juniors stressed about Coach Leo. No way… “he is hot.” I said with a low voice. He gave them a cold smile but hugged Clara like she was his favorite. When they got to where I was standing like a lost puppy, he sat down looking all charming, and I got carried away focused on him. “Who are you?” His voice was bold and tempting at the same time. “Sir, we have a new student, I have explained the basics to her. Her name is…” “I didn't ask you Scarlett.” Coach Leo cut her off. Scarlett smiled a bit, it was obvious she faked it. “I hope she will meet up.” She completed, staring at me like I was a threat. “Mia!” Clara tapped me. “Ye… yes.” I blinked and adjusted trying not to give him any wrong impression. “Coach just asked you a question.” Clara said. “Sorry Sir.” “Who are you?” He asked again. “I… I'm Mia Willow. I just started training today.” My heart was pounding. “Mia. I believe Clara has told you everything you need to know here.” “Mmmm.” “Mmmm??” He repeated. “Yes Sir. Sorry.” I corrected myself immediately. He wasn't even smiling a bit. He looked so strict and disciplined, and observed everyone individually. “I can see you are all done with training for today. Let's go, we'll see tomorrow.” He got up and began to go. Everyone followed him. I was standing next to Clara and she was next to him. He was teasing Clara. “Mia, who do you stay with?” He asked. “I live with my mom.” My heart was beating. “Sir. Scarlett acted strange towards Mia today. It was really annoying.” Clara said. Huhhh? Why will Clara say such a thing? “Mia. You have to be careful with everyone here, especially Scarlett and her team, they are always jealous.” Clara said to me. Coach Leo was focused on where he was heading to, he didn't even look at me a bit. “Mia, you have what it takes to be a champion. Don’t miss training. I want to see you tomorrow.” He said. I nodded and kept a calm and straight face, feeling way better than before. Although, I didn't stop admiring him. “I will go with you to see your mom.” What?? Did he say he will go with me?? Oh my God. I smiled a bit trying not to make it obvious. “Okay Sir.” We both got to my apartment and luckily for me, my mom was present. “Hi mom.” “Hi baby, how was your training today?” I wanted to talk about Scarlett but I didn't because my mom will be triggered. “Twas awesome. Today's day one.” I lifted my eyes and gave a cool smile. “Mom… This is Coach Leo, he's our dance Coach. He wants to see you.” My mom was impressed, a bit. “You are welcome Coach Leo, please sit.” Coach Leo obeyed. “Ma'am, I came here on behalf of your daughter Mia. I do this with all my dancers. I love having a good relationship with their parents so they know their child is safe with me.” He was so serious. “Thanks Coach Leo, I really appreciate this. Mia has been crying to be a dancer, so I allowed her to join. Mia is a very good kid and I love her. I hope she will be safe with you and won't get spoiled over there? I don't joke with her.” I gave a fake smile. Why will my mom go that far? “Mia is safe with me. Please let her come out for training all the time, I will make sure she is protected. Leave her to me to handle.” Handle??? What does that even mean? Why did he sound like I'm entering a trap? “That's okay Coach. I hope you will keep to your word?” My mom was so serious, she doesn't joke with me a bit. They both laughed and for the first time I saw Coach Leo smile. It was contagious, I was melting already. “Mia, be a good girl.” “Yes mom,” I responded. Coach Leo looked at me in a suspicious and charming way. ‘friend.’ I guess she would have said ‘everything’ because I have already pictured being in his arms all night, I can't wait for the day to come.
