Chapter One

"Rise and shine Crystal!" I woke up because of the heavy weight that's on top of me.

"Son of a rainbow. Uno! Your heavy. And Dang don't call me Crystal!" I groaned. I didn't even recognize my voice and because I just woke up, my voice was groggy.

"Really Dos? Son of a rainbow? You could just say 'Son of a gun'." he said and laughed.

"You know I hate swearing. I only use it when necessary, and emergency purposes." I groaned underneath him.

His laughter boomed inside my room. "Sweetie, When did cursing become a tool for emergency purposes?" It was difficult for him to finish saying it because he was still laughing.

"None of your business And hey! Stop calling me endearments for your call girls ... Like the grossness is lingering when you say * baby * * sweetie * * honey * * sunshine * * buttercup *, and many more." I was still groaning because of his weight.

He placed his hand over his chest, as if acting to be offended. "Ouch Dos, you know I mean it when I say it to you." And showed his puppy eyes.

I just closed my eyes because I'm still sleepy. He left from behind me and laughed out loud, he thinks its that funny huh? I rolled my eyes and looked at the alarm clock 4:26 a.m. I groaned and covered my body with the comforter again.

"C'mon baby, get up your gonna be late you're going to get used to it now" he said and pulled me to get up.

Baby? Eh?

"Okay. Fine, get your noisy butt out of my room" I frowned.

He just laughed and walked out. Since I had no choice and I was fully awake, I got up and brushed my teeth before walking to the sliding door towards the veranda. I opened the curtain and the cold breeze immediately entered the room. I mean its just four in the morning. I went out hugging myself and admired the view for a minute and went back inside.

I showered and sat in front of the vanity mirror and dried my hair, applied eyeliner and dark red lipstick. Then wore black ripped jeans, black oversized statement shirt and combat boots. I took my suitcase and two medium size boxes containing my belongings, I started going down the stairs carefully.

As I reached the last step, I was greeted by the aroma of bacon and eggs. My stomach grumbled because of that but I headed to the garage to put my belongings in the car. I went back inside and my stomach started grumbling again, I was really hungry.

I entered the kitchen and saw my busy parents and annoying brother. I remained unmoving to see the scenery inside the kitchen.

Dad sat next to him was my brother, his cup of coffee in his left and his right hand writing on a piece of paper. Uno's answering a crossword book on the right and held bacon on the left while chewing. Mom on the other hand is super busy, her back was turned from me but could see her cooking sunnyside up eggs while talking to her earpods.

"Did you get my proposal last night? ... No .. Uhuh .. Yes .. The one for next week, actually I want you to check it .. Uhuh .. Yup ... (Blah. Blah. Blah)" business matters again.

Dad acknowledged my presence and spoke. "G'mornin princess"

Uno and Dad kept the crossword and folder straight away while mom stopped and cut off the earpods and stove. They all turned to me and smiled. Ahh .. It melts my heart seeing them like this and smiling at me, such a great way to start my morning.

"Good morning everyone" I greeted with a stoic expression on my face. I headed towards dad and he kissed my forehead.

Before I could sit Uno laughed while looking at the clothes I'm wearing.

"Uhhh, Dos? You lack black lipstick and you're gonna look like a cult participant."

"Funny." I sat down next to her before turning to Mom. Her gaze landed on me and it looked like she got what I wanted to say.

"Just a second sweetie, I'll just finish this and we'll eat." Anito.

I just nodded and turned to the two in front of me. "How's your sleep princess?" Dad's curious.

"Great Dad, but this morning an evil huntsman attacked me while I was asleep" I looked at Uno and I rolled my eyes.

He just chuckled and Daddy frowned.

"Christopher, explaine."

I mockingly looked at him, a look that say's Oh-your-so-dead.

He just laughed and said "In my defense, my baby might get late, we wouldn't want to ruin the image of Dos Crystal Ace Renacia would we?

"Very good Topher. Our son." Dad smiled sweetly.

Finally Mommy sat down and we prayed before we ate. We talked about Uno's new investors in the company he handled, about my studies and old family outings and other what-not's we could think of.

I checked my wrist watch and my eyes widened.

6:23 a.m

Shizz Sticks!

"Uhh, Mom, Dad, Uno. I think I need to go, I'm running extra late and I'll take the other stuff in my room." Right when I stood up Uno held my wrist.

"Wait, I'll help." he hurried eating and drank water.

"Ayt" he said after eating and stood up.

I went into my room and turned to him.

"Just five boxes?" He said in disbelief.

"Trouble with five?" I asked earnestly and crossed both arms to my chest.

"You DO know, that you are the only one there ..." he said.

"Yes, yes I DO, besides the lizards, I'm the only person there." I said sarcasm coating all over it and rolled my eyes. "And my brother is a CEO after all." I continued.

He just chuckled and took two boxes, I also took one since they were too heavy. We deposited the boxes in my car, he went back inside and took the last two boxes.

While I pack the rest of the gadgets that I have yet to pack, since I used some of them last night. I took a last minute check to see if I left a gadget or charger, nothing left.

I left the house and met my parents in the small tea set outside. I don't know how their face looks like right now, but I know they are happy because I am in college but sadly I am leaving home.

I walked towards them and hugged them tight, so did Kuya. They burst into a fit of laughter then, but Mom was trying to stop the tears in her eyes from falling.

She looked at me and held my face. "Honey, Can I have a favor? I know this is hard ... But can you atleast smile often? Even if we are not the reason, or just your friends? I miss seeing you smile Dos."

"Oh, come on. Don't go all sappy on me, I might change my mind and I won't study." I said and wiped the tears away from his eyes.

"Shush, you are going to college and graduate and you will be successful just like your brother-" she frowned as she knew what she had said was wrong. "But in your own way." wich was different from what she was saying earlier. She hugged me and kissed my forehead.

"I'll come back if I have spare time. Don't worry." I hugged Dad too and kissed his cheeks.

"He doesn't get a hug and a kiss since he's just around there. I can always go and wreck his place." I joked but remained emotionless.

"Hey! Your so mean." he said and laughed.

I just shook my head and got into my car, I started the engine and heated it up. I glanced at them one last time, I saw Mom waving her hand while hugging Dad who was smiling from ear to ear. I checked the time 6:48 a.m.

Once I was out of the gate, I speed of not minding Mom saying 'Don't overspeed!'

Finally leaving my comfort zone and going for a new chapter of my life. College
