Her Forbidden Mate

As the sun rises on another hot and humid June morning, Jessica stirs. Slowly waking, she opens her eyes and checks the time on her phone. 6:15am Jessica huffs and rolls over. She was 15 minutes before her alarm, and she hated waking up early. She tried to close her eyes again, Just a few more minutes, she thinks. But suddenly she felt sick, and she rushed to the bathroom attached to her room. Jessica flushed her puke, assuming that dinner just didn't agree with her. After brushing her teeth and gulping some fresh water, she realized how hungry she was. She finished getting ready and headed downstairs for breakfast. She stepped out into the hall, and looked over the banister. The packhouse was a huge, open concept mansion, with 6 floors, and 30 bedrooms. It housed all the top ranking wolves and their families. Since Jessica was the Beta's daughter, she was also a high ranked member of the pack, and was training to be a warrior. She was well sculpted, muscular, but still curvey. She could keep up with all the male warriors in training with ease, and she didn't even have her wolf yet. As Jessica grabbed her plate and looked over the buffet style breakfast, a voice called out to her from the dining room. "Hey Jess! I saved you some french toast!" Jessica put the empty plate back, and grabbed some apple juice. She turned around to see Sara, her best friend, standing at the dining room door waving at her. Sara was the most beautiful she-wolf Jessica has ever seen. She had thick, glossly, chocolate brown, shoulder length curls, that perfectly framed her round face, and brought out her her hazel colored eyes. She was short, only 5'2", and was also muscular with perfect curves. Jessica smiled and made her way over, taking a sip from her cup. Jess hugged her best friend and said"I love french toast!" Sara and Jessica have been inseparable since birth, only being 3 months apart, and her dad being Alpha. But Jessica had a secret that no one knew, not even Sara. She was lesbian, and was desperately in love with Sara. Being a gay werewolf was unheard of, and Jessica was terrified at what the pack might do if they found out, but she was really scared of what Sara would say. They made their way through the large dinning room. The room was huge, with a high ceiling, and right down the middle was a huge wooden table with seats down each side and one at the head. Practically every one who lived in the packhouse were already eating, some milling around talking to others. Jessica wasn't late for breakfast, but she was always the last to wake. They sat down where Sara saved their seats. A plate with french toast, scrambled eggs and sausage sat in front of Jessica. Thinking about how Sara always looked out for her, made her heart flutter. "Mmm" she mumbled as she ate the food, "You know I love french toast" Jess muttered around a mouth full of food. "Ew don't talk with food in your mouth!" Sara squealed, slapping Jess's arm. That causes Jess to tingle from head to toe. She loved getting on Sara's nerves a bit. As Jess finished eating, the two she-wolves discussed prom, graduation, and most importantly, their 18th birthdays. Every year they celebrated together, in October after they both had their birthdays. But this year was different, this year they would be turning 18, gaining their wolves and shifting for the first time. They decided to have 2 separate parties on their respective birthdays, so everyone could watch their first shift. Jess's birthday was only 2 weeks away, the weekend after they graduate. By the time they headed off to the bus for school, they had Jess's party planned out. -two weeks later- Jess stood in front of the mirror, adjusting her super straight jet black hair, it just wasn't doing what she wanted. Her long, navy blue dress, with a bedazzled heart shape bust, also kept slipping off. I guess I lost some weight since I bought this. She finished her hair and grabbed some safety pins, pinning her dress at the sides to help it stay up. She took one last look at her makeup before setting out. It was almost 11:30pm, and Jess was late for her own birthday party. In a half hour she would finally meet her wolf, and shift for the first time. Jess hurried through the woods, carefully carrying her dress to not dirty it. She cursed under her breath as she stumbled over a root and quickly brushed the dirt off her shoe. Jess could hear the music in the distance and quickened her pace, almost running. Crashing coming from ahead made Jess stop. A person appeared in front of her, it's Sara. "You're late!" Sara scolded, "How are you late to your own party?" she huffed, out of breath from the dash. "Sorry, my dress wasn't cooperating" Jess quickly explained, which was somewhat true. She was actually really nervous about her first shift. Without another word, Sara grabbed the train of Jess's dress and they hurried along to the gathering. The party was being held in the packs sacred clearing. Beyond the large open field grass, was a huge waterfall, coming over a mountain side. The Mountain Waterfall Pack kept this place a secret from all other packs, and held all their pack celebrations here. The whole pack was already here, waiting for Jess. Beta James, Jess's dad, came to meet her in the center of the crowd. "You ready Jessy bear?" He asked, his brow creased with concern. Jess straightened up, and Sara carefully laid out her dress train. "Ready dad." They lost Jess's mother in a battle, and Beta James had always been concerned about if he was raising Jess properly. "Alright Jessy bear, let's go." He held out his arm and she took it. Beta James guided her, and the pack parted to let them through. Alpha Christan and Elder Cyrus were waiting at the edge of the pool beneath the waterfall. Jess and Beta James stopped in from of them. Beta James turned to his daughter, and gave her a kiss on the forhead for good luck before taking his place with the other shifters. Standing alone, Jess stole a glance at Sara, who was standing with the other non-shifters. Her beauty sent a surge of energy through Jess, and she stood up taller, ready to face what was about to happen. "Tonight we welcome a new wolf into our pack," Elder Cyrus's voice boomed around the clearing. "Jessica," He said, his eyes boring down on her, "Do you promise to put your pack first? And to give your life to protect them?" "I do." Jess said, strong and clear, without any hesitation. "Then step into the water, and allow our Waterfall to enhance the Moon Godess's wishes, and guide your first shift." With that he and Alpha Christian stepped aside, and Jess stepped into the pool of water. She kept going until the water was at her hips, then turned around to face her pack. The moon was almost overhead, almost midnight, almost time. Suddenly Jess felt a burning sensation, all over her body, it was painful, but she was determined to stay strong. The buring grew until it fel like she was on fire. Her fingers and feet elongated, ling black claws replaced her finger and toenails, and fur started coming through her skin, all over her body. She felt herself growing bigger and changing. Then her bones started changing shape, cracking and realigning, sending searing pain throughout her body. Jess clenched her teeth against the pain and tried her best not to fight the shift. Beta James was the first to shift, his wolf, Fury, was excited to meet his daughters wolf. The other shifters started shifting as well, in preparation of welcoming this new wolf. Sara stood with the non-shifters, anxiously watching her best friend change in front of her eyes. The wolf in the water grew bigger and bigger, bigger than anyone has ever seen before. A few non-shifters gasped as the wolf kept growing. Then everything was silent. Sara looked on, scared that this giant wolf may be too much for Jess to handle. Alpha Christian's wolf, Snow, gave a small growl, he was uncomfortable with this large wolf, it was bigger than him and may challenge him for the Alpha position. Jess gasped as she looked through eyes that weren't hers. "Hello, My name is Simon." A deep, rumbling voice echoed. my wolf is male? Jess thought, is that even possible? "Of course it is" Simon answered, "Rare, but possible" Simon was jet black, the same as Jess's hair, with a white lightning stripe down his chest, and deep emerald green eyes. Simon turned to face the pack, seeing the fear on their faces made him a bit nervous. Hello, my name is Alpha Snow. Alpha Christian's wolf mind linked Simon. Simon respectively dipped his head and greeted his Alpha. Hello Alpha Snow, my name is Simon. Alpha Snow entered the water to greet Simon. Simon crouched in submission, he didn't want the alpha to think he was challenging him, just because he was bigger. After ensuring the Simon had no intention of challenging him, Alpha Snow lifted his head and let out a deep howl. The other shifters on shore joined in, offically accepting Simon into the pack. Simon joined their song, with a deep, echoing howl. Beta Fury splashed through the water to greet his daughters wolf, beyond proud. The rest of the pack, shifters and non shifters rushed to join. Jess was so excited to see everyone accepting her large wolf. Then a sent hit their nose. It was so enticing and smelled of lavender and hazelnut, luring them forward. Mate, Simon told her. Mate? Already? Jess questioned. Her worst fear was happening, she was to be paired with a male, but she had no desire to be with a man, she wanted no one but Sara. With so many people and wolves milling about, it was impossible to tell where the sent was coming from. Jess shifted back, wanting to run and hide. Sara came running to her, and threw her arms around Jess's neck. "I'm so proud of you" She whispered softly into Jess's ear, the feeling of Sara pressed onto her naked body made her feel hot, and sharp tingling sensations sparked through her body. Then she realized that the smell of lavender and hazelnut were coming from Sara. Sara was her mate. Jess pulled away, hot with embarrassment and fear. How can Sara be my mate? Does she even have feelings for me? What if she rejects me? We don't know that she will, Simon answered She's our mate after all, the mate pull may help her. "Is something wrong?" Sara asked, handing her an extra large shirt to put on. Jess quickly put it on,"No, just a bit jumpy right now I guess." All Jess wanted to do was pull her in for a kiss, but without Sara being able to feel the mate pull, who knows how she'd react. "I think I'm going to head back to the house." Jess said, already inching back to shore. "Do you want me to walk-" "No thanks I'm good" Jess interrupted before she could finish, and beelined for the shore. Once she hit the tree line, out of sight, she ran as fast as she could, desperately trying to get away from Sara's overwhelming mate sent. 3 months before Sara gets her wolf, how will Jess be able to keep from kissing her for 3 months? Should I just tell her she's my mate? No way! She'll think I'm crazy! Distraught, she threw herself into bed, and buried herself beneath the pillows, blankets and stuffed animals. If she rejects me, I'll be alone forever. Simon whimpered at the thought, as Jess fell alseep, exhausted from her first shift.
