A Fresh Start - Part 1
After dealing with all the stress he experienced while Summer, he then thinks and thought; "I have no friends to hangout with. It's Summer, what am I doing?" He had to live with his uncle as his parents died in an airplane crash years ago. Luckily, he gets along with his cousins and helps each other when needed.
Akaki is an introvert. Although, he'd still choose to have friends and more family time than being alone, he didn't have the confidence and motivation to be approachable towards people. He did have a childhood friend, yet he doesn't know how to find or talk to them.
Education is important to him. "I will be nothing if I don't study hard." he says to himself. He studies approximately 13 hours a day. He mostly skips meals and just drink water. His dad would force him to study; threatening him that one day, he'll get kicked out of the house and suffer if he doesn't get high grades. Even if he tries his best to get the grades his parents wanted to see, there is this one girl who keeps getting ahead of him by a single point.
Akaki is an innocent boy, his name represents it. Akaki is a Georgian form of Akakios, meaning innocent. This name was given to him by his mother. People mostly think that he wasn't raised well because of how introverted he is. Their family didn't want any human interaction as it's for their "privacy". His childhood was a nightmare to him. He was forced to be independent at the age of 6. Yes, at that age. At that age, he learned how to take care of himself, clean his room, and basically anything a 6 year old can't possibly do until they grow up. He read the dictionary everyday for 7 hours and memorize the words and its meanings. His parents are very focused on their business that never took off. Their bank was in debt, almost getting bankrupt, and had mostly no income. So, they were forced to look for a job on their own. Akaki's mom was an assistant in a bakery. While his dad is an employee of a big time company.
Unfortunately, a tragedy happened. At Summer, his parents had to pay a visit somewhere that is advisable if they ride on an airplane on their way to go to the certain destination. As they were inside the plane, heavy rain started to approach. This caused a turbulence. As a result, many passengers started panicking. They started to shout, calling their family, and crying. Akaki's mom called. "Akaki, this is urgent. I'm sorry if you can't hear us properly, it's too loud. Unfortunately, I don't think we can make it. Heavy rain has approached us and it caused a turbulence. Now, please take care of yourself. Please. We are so sorry for what we have done to you. Especially that your dad kept forcing you to study hard. I am so sorry you had to go through that, sweetie. You deserve more happiness. You deserve friends. I'm sorry we never let you play with children when you were little. Keep in mind, we didn't think of you as a disappointment. We love you so much, Akaki. We will miss you." Akaki couldn't mostly understand what his mom was trying to say since it's too noisy and his mom was crying as she was talking. Then, he heard his dad; "Akaki! My one and only son! Study hard so you won't be a failu-" Then all he heard was a bunch of screaming and the phone hang up. He cried so hard that his eyes were extremely sore after. He was also at his uncle's house at that time since his parents were on a business trip. His uncle hugged him and asked; "What did they say? Why are you crying?" "They said their last words, uncle. They apologized to me. I- I didn't even thank them. I feel so guilty." he answered while crying. "M-my sister is gone?" Akaki's uncle thought. "My sister died in an accident? No, it can't happen."
They opened the TV and waited for the news. After many hours, they collected information. Akaki cried and said; "It says that 4 are injured while the rest had died. Do you think my parents can still be alive?" His uncle just cried. "I don't know. Let's just pray that they still are, okay?" he said. After waiting for something to happen, a number called. His uncle picked up the phone. It was the airplane company and informed them that their relatives didn't make it, that they had passed away. Akaki's uncle informed him and both cried for hours.
It took years for Akaki to move on. He then lived with his uncle for the best. He did feel bad for his uncle to get a higher paying job for his studies. But, he did promise his uncle that he'll get a part time job and earn money so he can take care of himself like what his parents taught him.
Adjusting in this new life of his, he starts to slowly change himself and be more approachable towards people. He then decides to call this a "Fresh Start".
