Chapter 15
Cody felt energetic and nervous for the rest of the day. He called his dad and asked him to pick up a razor for him. He had to reassure his dad that it was to shave his face, not to cut himself. He showered for the first time in days and told himself over and over again not to get too excited.
His parents took his enthusiasm to be for his new laptop, which he loved and immediately hooked up to the hotel’s wireless Internet. He asked them over Chinese take-out if they could take him to the mall with Adam. They agreed and he went to bed early, eager to start the next day.
Morning came and Cody called Dominic to make sure Adam was ready, then he dragged his parents downstairs and into the car. They picked Adam up, who looked lively and was very polite to Cody’s parents.
