The door clicked open, startling Cody awake. He glanced around, quickly spotting Detective Duarte in the doorway. “Did I wake you?” “Good detective skills,” Cody said with a half-laugh. “I was just napping, it’s cool.” “Your parents called me up. They said you know about the murders.” “Yeah. Gossiping nurses.” Cody gave a what-can-you-do shrug. “Bound to happen.
